Good reasons for Bibliotheca to
enter the Hybrid market
• Many libraries still running with barcode processing
and
EM security
- Future will be RFID but some of them will not change
in the mid term, but may upgrade in future
- They want to invest now in a future technology
• Competition (especially 3M) is traditionally very
strong in that market
• Academic libraries covering huge collections and don’t
want to convert all medias to RFID at once
- they prefer a phased approach and want to run
barcode/EM in parallel with RFID
• We already have a lot of experience in the EM field (UK,
Denmark and Italy)
