Dear Readers, Inside our second annual Bison Ambassador Sourcebook you will find evidence of some of our finest memories and our hardest work as an organiza@on. Each major event we par@cipated in is documented here, both with photos and wri@ng to commemorate the @me and effort put forth and given to our NDSU community and our BA family. I look forward to the day, long aHer gradua@on, that I can look back on what I was able to take part in during my @me and North Dakota State University, and I sincerely hope that this book can provide this sense of nostalgia for you as well. Each page within this book has been uniquely designed by one of our fellow Bison Ambassadors, with no page looking like another. It is my sincere hope that you all can look at this work and reflect on how proud you are to be a Bison Ambassador, and how fortunate we all are to work with this team of NDSU’s finest. Go Bison! Bison Ambassadors then lead them to their designated college orientation, answer questions they have and welcome them to NDSU! Classroom Tours Bison Ambassadors show new students around before classes begin. Students bring their class schedules, and Bison Ambassadors take them right to their classroom door so they are ready for their first day at NDSU. BA/Herd Club Info Booth Bison Ambassadors have a booth near the Quentin Burdick Building where they answer students’ general questions, provide information about Bison Ambassadors, and promote Herd Club! rs o d a s s a b m A BisonStudents serving students of the past, PRESENT, and future! home·com·ing: The act of returning to your home or a place like home.! ! ! Bison across the nation roamed home for NDSU’s 2013 Homecoming Week. Bison Ambassadors were kept busy with Recognition Societies Dinner, the Herd Club Luncheon with Team Makers, the Homecoming Parade and Pep Fest, the Homecoming Pep Rally, and Bison Bidder’s Bowl. Returning to old tradition, the parade was moved downtown but due to an unforeseen storm, it was cancelled. The Bison football team defeated Missouri State 41-26, making them 6-0 that would turn into an undefeated season with a third ! National Champion title. ! Bison Bidders Bowl has been part of NDSU's Homecoming since 1982. It is sponsored by the NDSU Development Foundation. The evening features a gourmet dinner, auctions, BA valet parking and everyone's favorite: Heads and Tails. Bidders Bowl has raised more than $5.4 million for scholarships and student programs! Fall Retreat Every year, Bison Ambassadors go on a fall retreat that serves as a bonding experience for the organiza@on. This year, we were lucky enough to go to the Dakota Marker game in South Dakota to watch NDSU win the marker for the fourth straight year! BA’s loved showing their pride at this game. 2013-14 Yell Leaders: Alex Koppy, Stephen Kessler, & Brandon Millar Starting in 2011, the Selfies with the fans! Yell Leaders at College Game Day! Sept. 21, 2013 yellow suits have been a common sight for Bison fans. The NDSU Yell Leaders work closely with NDSU Athletics, Bison Ambassadors, and the Alumni Association to promote Bison Pride at sporting events. Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day To recognize the thousands of staff, faculty, alumni, family and friends who give to NDSU, Bison Ambassadors teamed up with the NDSU Development Founda@on on Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day. They decorated over 20 buildings across campus that were funded by these generous donors with green and yellow present bows. Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day, a CASE ASAP holiday, aims to increase student awareness of all the dona@ons given by donors throughout the year. BAs had a great @me decora@ng campus and thanking generous donors! Apple Polisher The Apple Polisher program honors NDSU faculty and staff who have made an exceptional impact on a student’s college experience. A Bison Ambassador can select a deserving recipient to bring a special gift to them each day of Apple Polisher week. These awards are truly for individuals who have gone above and beyond to serve students. Heat Up the Herd! This event is our favorite way to kick-off BA Recruitment by serving hot chocolate and apple cider to the NDSU student body in the Union. It is also a phenomenal way for us to recruit potential Bison Ambassadors! 2014 New Bison Ambassadors Emi Binstock Sam Ewald Hometown: Dickinson, ND Major: Biology/Medical Lab Science Hometown: Becker, MN Major: Mechanical Engineering Hannah Borgstrom Adam Girtz Hometown: Grand Forks, ND Major: Pre-‐Pharmacy Connor Dunn Hometown: Fargo, ND Major: Psychology Noah Engels Hometown: Maddock, ND Major: Ag-‐Economics Hometown: Becker, ND Major: Industrial Engineering Jack Keller Hometown: S@llwater, MN Major: Marke@ng Mason Magle Hometown: Montevideo, MN Major: Pharmacy 2014 New Bison Ambassadors Eric McDaniel Calla Price Hometown: Bismarck, ND Major: Civil Engineering Hometown: Stanton, ND Major: Zoology Mikayla Miller Ka4e Rice Hometown: Stacy, MN Major: Marke@ng Hometown: Maddock, ND Major: Nursing Taylor Paluck Jaclyn Smith Parker Pavek Annesa Tabassum Hometown: St. Michaels, MN Hometown: Westminster, CO Major: Public Rela@ons & Major: Industrial Adver@sing Engineering Hometown: Northfield, MN Major: Finance Hometown: Fargo, ND Major: Respiratory Care 2014 New Bison Ambassadors Jessica Teubner Sam WyaP Andrew Wolf Amber Zubrod Hometown: Cando, ND Hometown: Farmington, MN Major: Elementary Educa@on Major: Biochemistry Hometown: Bismarck, ND Major: English & Philosophy Zach WyaP Hometown: Farmington, MN Major: Exercise Science Hometown: Howard Lake, MN Major: Biological Science NEW MEMBER RETREAT m !
