sponsored by Attention Students: How the day will unfold! This is your chance to interact with industry leaders who are REALLY excited to meet you! Feel free to ask questions about how their careers have progressed, what they like/don’t like about their jobs, what they wish they’d known (or done)... 1 Every 30 minutes you’ll start a new discussion with a new leader. You’ll get to pick who you speak with when you check in (first come, first served). To help you make your choices, we’ve made this brochure. Go through it, and, on the last page circle which Organizations/People you’d like to learn more about. And get ready to have a fun, exciting day! SPARK 2009 Welcome to Spark 2009! This is the second year for the Center for Advancing Business through IT (CABIT) and CXO to collaborate and host a unique, fun, and rich experience for students to learn about career opportunities in information management! We built upon last year’s event by shifting the focus from large group presentations to more personal discussions between industry leaders and students. To maximize the exposure that each company receives, students will be able to participate in up to six different discussions - and each discussion will be between one industry leader and at most four students. We have encouraged students to ask probing questions about your experiences - and to especially focus on how they can make good choices to have successful careers of their own! We hope this event strengthens the bond between industry and academics - and enhances the “supply chain” for IT leadership! Without strong industry support, we would not be able to captivate our students’ imaginations, give them the best “real world” exposure, or help them to optimize their time at Arizona State University. Therefore, we offer many thanks to all in attendance. Julie Smith David and Harvey Shrednick Christopher Hemming CXO CABIT W. P.
