Orders and Enquiries
Ordering is simple with Robbins Timber! We aim to provide a hassle free enquiry or order process. Just
let us know what you need, and we will give you a price including delivery if required. You may also
download an enquiry form from our website, or we can email or fax the form to you. If you need an item
machined to pattern, we can accept drawings by post, fax or email in most file formats.
To order, or if you need advice, additional information or a written quotation before ordering, just contact

Pale yellow to light Brown in colour with contrast in annular rings between light earlywood
and dark latewood. Medium in texture and generally straight grained. We import various grades,

All of our Sawn Carcassing Timber is kiln dried, and we offer many sizes
structurally graded and regularised. Most of our Carcassing timber is
sourced from Scandinavia and the Baltic States where it is grown in
managed forests which have either FSC or PEFC certification. Slower
growing cycles in these climates result in timber which has greater stability,
strength, durability and quality.
All prices are per running metre. For Planed Prices, please see information on page 9. All sizes are available
treated if needed. Many other sizes available – this is a Guide list only. Bulk Rates available on all materials.

Hardwood Information
We are major stockists of a wide range of hardwoods from around the
world, and are able to quote against your cutting list in all commercially
available species. Below is a list of our additional timbers which are held in
significant volume in our Bristol depot, many of which are available with
sustainability certification. For further information and prices, please contact
our sales office who will be pleased to help.
Some additional hardwoods always in stock:
Yellow Cedar
Technically a softwood, this is a fairly heavy and very durable cedar, often
used in the lower areas of boat hull construction, and is a popular
alternative to teak for boat decking. It works and finishes well.
Idigbo
A plain, pale yellow to light brown coloured wood. The grain is straight to
slightly irregular, and the texture is somewhat coarse and uneven. It is soft
to medium hard and stable in nature, thereby making it a popular and
relatively low cost option for external joinery purposes.
American Lime
A light-coloured timber, varying from creamy-white to pale brown, with a
straight and fine grain. It is soft and light in weight, and ideal for cabinet
work where a fine finish is required.
Meranti
A popular low cost alternative to mahogany. The grain can be somewhat
interlocked and wavy, but it can be sanded to a fine finish and is popular for
all manner of internal and external joinery.
European Oak
Widely used for furniture and joinery. Appearance is similar to American
White Oak, but generally has more feature in its appearance being yellow to
brown in colour with a fine to medium grain
Jelutong
An easy timber to work with both hand and machine tools. It can be
finished to a very smooth surface, takes stains, polish and varnish very
well. Ideal for carving and pattern making applications.
Sapele
Works fairly well with hand and machine tools, but the inter-locked grain
can show in planed and moulded material. It polishes very well, and is
popular for internal and external joinery, furniture and flooring.
American Black Walnut
The timber is moderately hard, tough, strong and is easily worked. It
finishes well and takes an excellent polish. Popular for flooring, furniture
and sports goods.
We source all our timber from quality producers.
All the above timbers are available from stock in either large or small quantities,
sawn, planed or moulded to your specification.
