Introduction
As with all other corporate communication
media, a trade show presentation that is
uniform internationally helps to develop a
unique brand profile and also contributes
to a successful positioning of the brand.
These guidelines are a part of the Corporate Design Manual of Sartorius. The rules
contained within are binding and remain
unchanged until they are replaced by new
ones.
Naturally a company like Sartorius with its
very complex product portfolio quickly fills
up the available exhibition space. Therefore
it is preferable to focus on fewer products
and have only a few statements in the
communicative elements of the trade
show stand than to showcase “everything”
that you want to get across. The option of
limiting the presentation to new products | features that already draw the highest
volume of visitors can be an easy solution.
If you have any further questions,
Annetta Giese and Manfred von Einem
in the Central Marketing and Corporate
Communications Department will be
happy to provide you with information
and practical support.
Plans and design drawings of the trade
show stand and individual elements can
be provided upon request.

The Large
Trade Show Stand
> 50 m2
This lavishly-designed stand emphasizes
Sartorius’ status as a leading international
technology company. The modern design
combined with high-quality materials and
finishes corresponds to the high quality
demands that our customers and we ourselves place upon our products.
A lavish, confident architecture can only be
realized with an appropriate stand size, and
the stand can only blossom to its full effect
when the elements are given enough space.

The Large Trade Show Stand – Individual Components
Floor
Walls
The raised floor has a height of 11.5 cm
and is made up of white, coated boards
(100 + 100 cm) with a high-gloss finish,
which rest upon an exhibition floor
support system (Octanorm). The stand edge
is made from matt acrylic and is backlit.
A raised floor allows for the installation
of supply lines (power, water, etc.) and
gives the stand a high quality foundation.
Walls are made from white, coated boards
with an alternating matt and shiny surface.
They have a total height of 270 cm and a
depth of 25 cm to enable the backlighting
of the flush-mounted wall posters (see
following page).
Display units
Segmentation of walls:
– Base, matt surface, 130 cm high
– Middle section, shiny surface, 120 cm
high, for placement of light boxes and
wall posters
– Top section, matt surface 20 cm high,
corresponding in height to the yellow
stripes on the columns
Display units are an essential part of a
trade show stand. They must take into
account the requirements and value of the
products in both form and function, and
define – through their number alone – the
look of the stand. The size of the standard
display unit is 75 + 75 + 90 cm, the white
body is bordered on the top, bottom and
side with an anthracite-colored band.
6
The large display unit is 75 + 140 + 90 cm
with the anthracite-colored band running
left or right on the side.
Columns
The columns are 150 cm in width, 40 cm
in depth and can be up to 650 cm high.
They have a modular design. Depending
on the allowed construction height, top
sections of 100 or 50 cm in height can be
placed on a base 170 cm in height. A 70 cm
high element serves as terminating point.
It is designed for attaching the ceiling
construction. A 100 cm high element is
designed as a light box and is used to
attach the company logo. It is positioned
for optimal visibility depending on the
total height.

Furniture
Ceiling | Lighting
The ceiling is made from an aluminum
frame system (Leitner | Pila Petite III)
of different formats for attaching textile
cloth panels. The cloth panels are semitransparent and impregnated with Class B1
fire-proofing. Power track rails on the
frames are used to attach the spotlights.
The spotlights ensure uniform illumination
of the stand, on the one hand, and serve
to highlight the products and business
segments on the other. The ceiling forms
a visually attractive finish for the trade
show stand.
The furniture must correspond to the
value of the stand and be equipped with
white surfaces.

The Large Trade Show Stand – Design Elements
Showcases
Large showcases are the most eye-catching
communication medium of the trade
show stand. Attached to the ceiling system,
they are the most essential element for
conveying core messages and indispensable
8
for visibility in the exhibition hall. They are
set up in different formats depending on
the construction height. The picture shows
an example of 300 + 200 cm.
Display unit posters
Poster example
Display unit posters are small showcases
with a format of 50 + 70 cm. Their use is
optional and not required. They should
only be used to accent selected products
or topics.
The design of the poster is limited to
the following elements:
– Headline
– Applied motif
– Sartorius claim
Yellow stripe
Logos
A
90 cm
The yellow stripe (Pantone 1235) is 20 cm
high and always displayed at a height of
250 cm (bottom edge). It is at the same
level as the back wall attachments (see
walls description).
The column, yellow stripe and logo form
a unified whole and are used for all stand
sizes. They are an integral element for
all Sartorius stands and ensure that
the largest stand down to the smallest
product presentation are recognized.
A + 1,4
100 cm
Wall posters
126 cm
150 cm
Posters are laminated on transparent
acrylic boards with rounded corners and
can be used in the following formats:
75 + 120 cm | 150 + 120 cm | 250 + 120 cm.
Attractive application motifs are generally
used and text statements are only used in
exceptional cases or in conjunction with
important campaigns.
Company logos in the lighted boxes of the
columns are placed in translucent film on
semitransparent acrylic boards. Company
logos must be displayed in a ratio of
1:1.4 when used together. Example: If the
Sartorius logo is displayed with a width of
90 cm, then the Sartorius Stedim Biotech
logo has a width of 126 cm. (please see the
CD Manual ➝ Using the Sartorius Logo)

The concept of the Sartorius trade show stand is designed so that it can be easily scaled
down to smaller areas using a standard exhibition system without having to forego
essential, significant elements. The examples shown here are based on the internationallyavailable „Octanorm“ exhibition system; however they can also be implemented with
other available systems.
1 Floor
The floor is made from coated boards
with a high gloss look. It can be set up
on a support system like the large trade
show stand or laid over particle board.
Walls
Walls are built from exhibition system
sections that are covered with white
boards. The openings for wall posters
are cut out. The lighting is fit into the
hollow space.
2
3 Columns
The columns are also built from
covered system sections, their height
depends on the guidelines of the
event organizer.
4 Logos
One element of the column is for
attaching the logo. If possible, a light
box should also be planned for this
stand type. If this is not possible for
technical reasons, then the company
logo must be illuminated from the
ceiling.
6
7 Ceilings | Lighting systems
The ceiling is also a standard Octanorm
system equipped with semitransparent
cloth panels (impregnated with B1 fire
protection). Power track rails enable the
attachment of spotlights for genera0l
and targeted illumination of the stand.
Showcases are also possible with this
system, but not mandatory. If they
are used, their size and weight must
be adapted to the load capacity of the
ceiling system. Textile prints with an
identical format can also be hung as
an alternative.
8 Display units
See the large trade show stand for
display unit details. When using leased
material, please make sure that the
display units are adapted accordingly –
white body, anthracite-colored cover.
9 Display unit posters
See the large trade show stand for
display unit poster details.
5 Stripe
The 20 cm high yellow stripe is placed
at a height of 230 cm so that the upper
edge forms a line with the wall posters.
6 Wall posters
The wall posters with rounded edges
are placed at a height of 130 cm
(lower edge). They are each 120 cm
high and widths of 75, 150 and 250 cm
are possible.
The following also applies here:
if backlighting is not possible for
technical reasons, then posters can be
attached to the wall. The illumination
that is required here must also come
from the spotlights on the ceiling
system.

Stand elements can only be used in reduced form within an area of less than 20 m2.
Event rules that allow a max. stand height of 250 or 300 cm also limit the design options.
Nevertheless, the characteristics features of the Sartorius trade show stand can still be
presented in such a small area using a standard exhibition system (e.g. “Octanorm”).
Floor
Two variants are possible: white,
coated boards or an anthracite-colored
carpeted floor.
1
2 Walls
The section systems are covered with
white boards. The wall is divided into
three segments:
– Base 130 cm high with a matt surface
– Middle section 100 cm high with
a high gloss look, for placement of
posters
– Top section 20 cm high with a matt
surface
Columns | Yellow stripe | Logos
Front stand, installation height 300 cm:
The columns are 300 cm high and
100 cm wide, and are offset from the
250 cm high walls in the depth and the
height. The yellow stripe (20 cm high) is
set at a height of 230 cm (upper edge)
and forms a line with the upper edge
of the posters. The logo has a width
of 90 cm and is placed at a spacing of
40 cm (lower edge of word part) from
the yellow stripe.

Ceilings | Lighting systems
The ceiling is made up of the section
system of the standard exhibition
system being used and required for the
static and for attaching the spotlights.
The spotlights are used to illuminate
the products, posters and logos.
4
Display units
See the large trade show stand for
a description of display units. When
using leased material or simplified
replicas of standard display units, the
look must be maintained: white body,
anthracite-colored covering.
5
Posters
Posters with rounded corners are
laminated on 10 mm thick, reinforced
plastic boards and set on the wall at
a height of 130 cm (under edge).
They are 100 cm high and can be 75
or 150 cm wide.
6
Display unit posters
See the large trade show stand for
display unit poster details.
7
Inline stand, installation height 250 cm:
The columns are level with walls in
height, but are offset in the depth from
the walls. The yellow stripe is set at a
height of 200 cm (upper edge), the
logo is set above at a spacing of 20 cm
(lower edge of word part).

Simplified systems can be used at small
exhibits and product presentations, which
can also be installed without external support. The example shown here is based on
the “OctaWall system” (see below). It is easy
to transport and setup and immediately
recognizable as a Sartorius stand due to its
characteristic design features. The variants
shown are based on common stand sizes
and installation heights.

2 Walls
The walls consist of an alu frame system.
The individual elements are 95 cm
in width and 248 cm high, and are
equipped with printed cloth panels.
Special leveling feet ensure stability. The
corner stand variant does not require
any additional support for stability due
to the right-angle side wall.
Columns | Stripe | Logo
The columns are 95 cm wide and
correspond to the permitted installation
height – 248 or 293 cm. The yellow
stripe is flush with the poster at a height
of 230 cm (upper edge) for offset columns. An additional module (95 + 45 cm)
is positioned on the column element
and the logo is positioned in the middle.
The yellow stripe is set at a height of
200 cm (upper edge), the logo (85 cm)
is set above at a spacing of 20 cm (lower
edge of word part) for the variant with
flush columns.

4 Display units
Each display unit is built from Octanorm
sections and can thus be customized in
the width and depth according to the
requirements. The standard height is
90 cm, the sections are silver, the front
and sides are white and the cover plates
are anthracite.
