Gail Mann, Head Coach Returning
for her 10th season as head coach of the
Golden Flyers women's soccer team, Gail Mann is by far the Golden Flyers most successful women's
soccer coach ever -- in terms of victories, post-season success, and longevity.
Last season marked the Golden Flyers' seventh straight season of double-digit victories.
The Golden Flyers also won the Empire 8 Conference title for the third year in a row and
received their fifth straight invitation to the NCAA Division III tournament.
Those milestones came just two seasons after the Golden Flyers set a school record with
17 victories, won the NCAA's New York Regional, and advanced to the national quarterfinals.
Mann has been at the driving force behind all of the Golden Flyers' foremost achievements since
taking over as coach in 1993. In just her second season, the Golden Flyers finished 9-8-2
and reached the NYSWCAA tournament. In 1996, Mann guided the Golden Flyers to a record
of 16-6-1, and landed berths in the NYSWCAA and ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournaments.

Cindy Stubbe, Assistant Coach
Returning for her 10th season as an assistant coach for the
Golden Flyers, Cindy Stubbe has teamed with head coach Gail Mann in helping Nazareth flourish in women's soccer.
Stubbe tenure has coincided with the best seasons in Nazareth's history. That includes seven straight seasons of double
digit wins and five straight appearances in the NCAA Division III tournament.
Stubbe credentials include a four-year playing career at Division I Adelphi University, where she finished as one of
the school's all-time leading scorers. A native of Rochester, Stubbe was a three-time Monroe County League All-Star
at Greece Arcadia and was a high school All-American there in 1982.
Stubbe has a degree in psychology and works as a teacher at Monroe Middle School.
Billy Stojanovski, Assistant Coach Billy Stojanovski joined the Nazareth coaching staff in 2000
and has guided the Golden Flyers to a pair of NCAA tournament berths.
The progression continued in 1997 as Nazareth completed the regular season unbeaten at 15-0-2 and then scored a triple overtime win over
Oneonta in its first-ever NCAA tournament game. Mann was recognized as NCAA Division III Coach of the Year for the New York region. Nazareth
followed that with a 15-4 record in 1998 and then a 17-3 showing in 1999.
Mann's overall record is 114-47-11 for a .695 winning percentage, including 101-27-8 (.750) over the last seven seasons. She was named
NYSWCAA Coach of the Year in 1996 and New York Region Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in 1997.
Over the last seven years, Mann has had 27 NYSWCAA All-Star selections, 21 Northeast Region All-Star selections, and three All-Americans
(Melanie Northrup in 1997 and 1999 and Jaime Snyder last year).
A native of Rochester, Mann came to Nazareth in 1993 after five seasons as an assistant coach at SUNY Brockport. She has also coached in
the Empire State Games and is active in the area's Olympic Development Program.
Mann, 37, is a graduate of Spencerport High School, where she excelled in soccer, basketball, and softball. She played soccer at Cortland State
and was a starting striker on the 1986 team that reached the Division III Final Four. At Nazareth, in addition to coaching soccer, Mann is an
assistant coach for the Golden Flyers' women's lacrosse team, which has reached the NCAA tournament twice over the last three seasons.

A native of Rochester, Stojanovski played three seasons of soccer at Division I University of Buffalo as a goalkeeper
and still ranks among the all-time leaders in saves and goals-against average. He graduated from Buffalo with
a degree in mechanical engineering and has worked at Xerox since 1994.
Before coming to Nazareth, Stojanovski was an assistant coach at RIT for three seasons. He also has coached the
Rochester Junior Rhinos since 1998 and helped direct them to a state title in 1999. His coaching experience also includes
a stint with Buffalo Germania from 1994-97 and involvement with the Rochester District Olympic Development program.
Stojanovski resides in Rochester with his wife, Cheryl, whom he married last year.

Golden Flyers Win Empire8,
Reach NCAAs Again.
Team Finishes 12-5-1, Jaime Snyder Earns All- America Honors
The 2001 women's soccer season at Nazareth seemed remarkably similar to the
four seasons that preceded it.
That's probably because the Golden Flyers were redundantly successful in capturing the
Empire 8 Conference championship for the third year in a row and were invited to compete
in the NCAA Division III Tournament for the fifth straight season.
"We reached our goal by winning the (Empire 8) conference title again," said Nazareth
Coach Gail Mann, who completed her ninth season. "Once we did that, we had to revise
our goals for post-season play."
Nazareth finished 12-5-1 overall, including a perfect 7-0 in conference play. In the NCAAs,
the Golden Flyers avenged a regular-season defeat by beating Rochester 2-1 in the opening
round. Their season ended with a 3-2 loss to Union in the New York Region semifinals.
Nazareth's season opened in fine fashion as the Golden Flyers scored a pair of one-goal
victories in Ohio – over Denison and Ohio Wesleyan respectively. The 2-1 win over OWU
was especially noteworthy in that it was the only loss the Battling Bishops suffered all
season en route to winning the national championship.
Nazareth stumbled in a 2-0 non-conference loss at Brockport, then rebounded for solid wins over Elmira, Cortland, and Keuka
before settling for a 2-2 tie at St. Lawrence.
The Golden Flyers dropped non-conference games to Rochester, William Smith, and Union, but ran the table in the Empire 8
by defeating St. John Fisher, Utica, Alfred, Ithaca, RIT, and Hartwick.

The Ithaca game was particularly provocative in that it wasn't decided until Casey Corcoran scored for Nazareth in the 103rd
minute for a 1-0 win.
Against Rochester in the NCAAs on Halloween, Nazareth got unassisted scores from Shannon Rene and Jaime Snyder (pictured)
and held the visitors scoreless until the game's final minute in a 2-1 victory.
"We reached our goal by winning
the (Empire 8) conference title again."
Stephanie Nardini scored both Nazareth goals,
but the Golden Flyers' season ended with a 3-2 defeat.

In the next round, played at William Smith,
Nazareth fell behind 2-0 in the first half against
Union and never recovered.
Post-season honors poured in, most notably for Snyder, who was named Empire 8 Player of the Year and earned All-America honors
(third team) from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Corcoran, Nardini, and defender Heidi Brown joined Snyder as first-team all-conference selections. Goalie Kim French, defender
Lisa Ksczanowicz, and midfielder Sarah McGowen were second-team choices.

Nazareth College is a private,
co-educational college with a liberal
arts and sciences core. Founded in
1924 by the Sisters of St. Joseph,
Nazareth has been independent
for more than 30 years.
2002-03 Tuition
Total
• Nazareth features an array of health professions programs, including
a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Music Therapy, Art Therapy,
Speech-Language Pathology, and Physical Therapy.
• The Nazareth College Arts Center, which houses the departments
of Theatre Arts, Music, and Art, has welcomed more than two million
people to performances since it opened in 1967.
Community Service
Ninety-one percent of Nazareth undergraduates participate in community
service projects.
In addition, Nazareth offers an on-campus Center for Service Learning,
which serves as a resource for students seeking volunteer placements
and for faculty who want to incorporate service into the curriculum.
In 2000, Nazareth contracted to purchase 73 acres of property and buildings
adjacent to the current campus from the college's founders, the Sisters of
St. Joseph. This opportunity doubles the size of the campus and will enable
the college to shape its future in ways previously unimaginable.
Alumni
A three-phase master plan that will be implemented over the next five to seven
years will integrate the existing campus with the newly acquired property into
one seamless and architecturally consistent landscape. New academic programs,
including a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, a four-year Bachelor of Science
in Nursing program, and Information Technology, will soon be joined by new
athletic programs in cross country, equestrian, softball, and track and field.
Seventy-five percent of Nazareth's 23,000 alumni reside in New York state.
Nearly 70 percent are employed in service professions including education,
health care, child care, social work, and counseling.
Athletic Highlights
• The average grade-point average of student-athletes for the spring
2002 semester was 3.06.
