We have numerous amounts of exciting and adventurous activities. Campers will enjoy games, sports, arts and crafts, outdoor play and much more. Field trips, special guests and special theme days are also part of your child’s camp experience. We are proud of our high quality program that will encourage children to develop spirit, mind and body. Parents and guardians can go to work feeling comfortable that their child is safe and having fun during their summer vacation. Summer Camp Hours We operate Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Programming begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise specified. Campers will enjoy games, sports, science, arts & crafts and nature walks as well as visits to the local water park. We will also be joining the main camp for field trips! Save $20 per week with early registration L imited spots are available in each camp. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. In order to guarantee your child a spot in the camp, and to avoid disappointment, please register early and save. A $50.00 deposit (nonrefundable) is required to hold your child’s spot. Early Bird Registration begins on April 2nd, 2012 REGISTER BETWEEN April 2nd AND April 27th, 2012 and SAVE! Cost: $150.00 PER WEEK REGULAR COST FOR CAMPS $37.00 PER DAY (NO HALF DAY RATES) $170.00 PER WEEK (AFTER EARLY REGISTRATION) Registration is as easy as 1, 2, 3! Step 1: Choose the camp that reflects your child’s outgoing grade and dates/weeks that they will be attending. Step 2: Complete the summer day camp registration form. Forms can be picked up from our office at 376 Poplar Avenue. Please ensure that all information is complete. We reserve the right to refuse incomplete forms. Step 3: Return registration form with payment to the Timmins Family YMCA office to reserve your child’s spot. Cash, Cheque, Visa, MasterCard and Interac accepted. T immins Family YMCA Camps are planned and supervised by our qualified Summer Camp Supervisor and/or Management. Camp counselors are carefully selected for their maturity, experience, patience and skills with children. All of our counselors receive an extensive training program where they receive hands on training in YMCA leadership, YMCA C.A.T.C.H., safety and emergency procedures as well as Healthy Child Development. All staff are qualified in Standard First Aid and CPR and undergo a criminal reference check prior to the start of camp. COME JOIN THE TIMMINS FAMILY YMCA TEAM! Drop-in Fit Kids Classes are a part of our Mobyle Outreach Program. Brought to you by our Hometown Strong Kids Partners, these fit classes are aimed at encouraging kids to develop healthy lifestyle habits. Calendars will be available on our website in June! Summer Athlete Development Program The program is based out of the Archie Dillon Sportsplex as part of our municipal collaboration program. It includes an orientation to our youth fitness centre and age appropriate exercises and activities. This summer, the YMCA is expanding its HEAT program (Helping Eager Athletes Train) with a more advance Summer Athlete Development Program, aimed at 12-15 year olds. Participants will meet twice a week to Start Moving, Get Moving and Keep Moving! This program presents tremendous opportunities for both off-season training and in-season conditioning for all sports. It is designed for the serious youth athlete interested in developing their physical potential and athletic performance through various training programs and activities. Age Category: 10-12 Location: Archie Dillon Sportsplex Back Entrance Days: Tuesdays/Thursdays in July and August Time: 9:30 am-11am (Parents encouraged to attend) YMCA / City of Timmins MobYle Parks returning! The program will be based at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex, a YMCA Partnership Project with the City of Timmins, but will use surrounding local areas to diversify training programs. MobYle Parks Counsellors Training with this program will more closely resemble sporting demands by incorporating lifts, speed, agility, quickness and balance drills, along with sport energy system and strength development. Athletes will be segmented by age, as well as skill and ability, to ensure safety and specialized instruction that is adapted to their individual physical development, sport demands and training background. Participants will be required to fill in an Athlete Registration Form.
