31st October, 2014 ECONOMITE – 2014—The Economite is, “a fest in which students get a glimpse of Economies in real
life situations”. Founded more than two decades ago, Economite has been one of the most popular competitive events
in Modern School. It brings together budding entrepreneurs of different schools of Delhi and NCR. The event comprises
of four major competitions: Modern Stock Exchange, Ad-Dicted, Symposium, Quizzonomics. This year the Economics
Club made special efforts to take the event to the next level by adding new features to it. 15 top schools of Delhi & NCR
participated in this event. The Symposium comprised of heterogonous teams and gave the students a platform to
enhance their oratory as well as their acting skills! Quizzonomics gave qualifying teams equal opportunities to showcase
their talent. The Ad – Act, the most popular feature of the event, uses creative dramatic skills to advertise different
products. This year saw a twist, wherein the negative features of the product were highlighted thereby dissuading
people from buying them! The Guest Speaker was Mr. Ajay Lavakre, Managing Director of the India office of Risk

We are proud to have engineered another ‘first’ for the school with the electronic version of the school’s annual
magazine. The E-Parag, digital and environment-friendly, is a step in the right direction and is well suited to engage the
attention of the QWERTY generation. This pioneering task involved blending creative expression with tech quotient
while at the same time taking the challenge of compiling a publication beyond the realm of pen and paper.
Photography Club
Teacher Incharge : Ms. Anju Puri

The dream of ‘self realization’ laid down by our Founder Late Lala Raghubir Singh is sought to be realized in Modern
School, Vasant Vihar by the provision of rainbow of socio-cultural activities to students. These opportunities enable the
students to manifest the best in themselves not only in terms of individual excellence but also in the form of collective
expression. I want to bring down the curtain on this year’s Annual Report by thanking the academic staff, the fine arts
teachers, the sport instructors, coaches, the administrative staff and the support staff for their commitment, sincerity
and devotion to duty, in keeping the flag of Modern School, Vasant Vihar flying high!
