Cretacolor Monolith woodless graphite pencils are a
unique drawing tool manufactured using only the purest
graphite. The graphite is formed into a solid, 7.5mm
diameter stick with a high-grade fireproof ceramic
binder resulting in a top quality graphite stick with high
breaking strength and velvety finish. Cretacolor Monolith
woodless graphite pencils will last up to 6 times longer
than a regular Artists graphite pencil. These pencils come
pre-sharpened and coated with a thin protective lacquer
to protect your fingers and reduce smudging.
The shape of the Cretacolor Monolith allows for great
variations in line width. Transition from the point to
the edge in a single stroke allows you to smoothly vary
between broad strokes and fine lines in an instant. For
even wider strokes, the outside coating can be peeled
or sanded back. When sharpened, the shavings can be
collected and used as a pure graphite powder to create
additional effects.
Cretacolor Monolith graphite pencils are available in
six degrees – HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B and 9B to suit all your
sketching requirements. The 4B is also available in a
watersoluble version which is easily blended with a
watercolour brush and ideal for creating pure
graphite watercolours or outlining
watercolour drawings.
