SENIORS PROFILES
JOHN PARKER MANAGER & HEAD COACH
Played all sports growing up and during my playing career won 4
Provincial Championships and a National title in soccer, as well as 1 in
baseball. Coached High School basketball for 10 years and turned to
baseball in 1986 when I moved to Cloverdale. Spent 17 years in
Cloverdale Minor Baseball Assoc. being Vice President, Equipment
Manager, President and coaching. In 2002 won the Bantam AAA
Western Canadians, 2002 Bronze at Nationals Bantam AAA, 2003 won
the Provincials Bantam AAA, soo3 5th at Nationals Bantam AAA, 2006
and coached the Jr. Blaze in the BCJPBL in 2007 and then joined the
Fraser Valley Chiefs in 2008. Managed the Whalley Senior Little League
Team to a Canadian Championship and 3rd place finish at the Sr.
League World Series in Bangor, Maine. The 'Silver Fox" is also a proud
grandpa. In his 7th year with the Chiefs.
GORD KERR CONDITIONING COACH
Gord’s first sport was baseball, which he started when he was five years
old. He went on to play with the Surrey Sabres and was scouted by the
San Diego Padres and Houston Astros. During his last year in baseball,
Gord made the roster of the BC baseball team. Gord excelled at other
sports as well throughout his high school and post secondary years.
While studying for a degree, Gord was very involved in sports. He earned
his NCCP certification in a number of sports including baseball.
After graduating with a degree in Human Kinetics from UBC, Gord
married and bought a house. He was hired by his summer employer,
which led Gord into the field of Engineering.
In the mid 1990s, Gord started a company with a fellow grad student,
and working with the coach of the Vancouver Voodoo Roller Hockey
team, they developed a training program. This training program was
laterused by Coach Dave Cairns for the Canadian Junior Hockey team.
Gord has been coaching sports in the community and schools for 22
years. He has coached both of his children in softball and baseball and
he also coaches soccer during baseball’s off season. Now in his 4th
season with the Chiefs.
Currently, Gord works for the City of Surrey Engineering department. He
has written and implemented “Safe Lifting and Back Care” program for
City employees. He is also a consultant with Quantum Sports
Development in Los Angeles. He lives in Surrey with his wife Jennifer,
and children Erin and Aidan.
RYAN PILGRIM CATCHERS COACH
Pil is welcomed to the Chiefs staff. A Chiefs alumni, a Canadian JNT
member, a graduate of Central Arizona JC and then UBC baseball
graduated UBC B Commerce degree. Lives in Pitt Meadows.
Girlfriend Jenna.

RANDY ELRICK ASSISTANT COACH
Randy grew up in East Vancouver and played all minor baseball at
Victoria Drive Little League.
He attended Notre Dame College in Wilcox Saskatchewan and played
both hockey and high school baseball. He played Jr. hockey in
Saskatchewan and B.C.
Randy has coached baseball in Cloverdale Minor and Whalley Little
League for the past 12 years and is part of Baseball B.C.’s coaching
staff. He is the coach of the B.C. Girls Provincial Program winning the
National Bantam Championships in 2008 in Montreal and 2010 in
Richmond.
Randy lives with his wife, Michelle and children, Caitlyn and Sydney.
PAUL HARGREAVES GENERAL MANAGER
Paul began his General Managers job with the Chiefs back in 1999. Now
in his 16th season his objectives remain the same. First off, help develop
& support High School aged players on to the next attainable level of
baseball. Help them compete both on the playing field and in the
classroom. Secondly, give the parents a strong knowledgable coaching
staff, make a competitive game and tournament schedule and keep
playing costs to a minimum.
Retired after 33 years with General Motors Corp. Detroit. Graduate of
Bowling Green State University in 1976 where he played hockey. Some
BG alumni include Mike Liut, Ken Morrow, George McPhee and Canucks
Kevin Bieksa. Lives in Surrey with his wife Betty and spends winters at
their place in Phoenix. There you can find him at Turf Paradise Race
Track or Surprise Recreational Campus.

SENIORS PROFILES
MIKE ADDY ASSISTANT COACH
Mike Addy returns to the Whalley Chiefs after spending a season in
North Delta as the head coach of the Junior Blue Jays; prior to that he
spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the Chiefs at both the
Junior and Senior levels. Mike played for both Surrey Canadian Baseball
and Whalley Little League until an injury forced him to stop playing. He
decided that coaching would be a great way to give back what he was
given for so many years. Mike brings many years of playing and
coaching experience to the team, and looks forward to being back on his
home field at Whalley. The highlight of Mike's coaching career so far is
his trip to the Senior League World Series in 2008.
His accomplishments include:
Coach of the 2008 Whalley Little League Senior All Star team that
finished 3rd at the Senior League World Series in Bangor, Maine.
Coach of the Zone 4 Gold Medal winning BC Summer Games baseball
team in 2010.
2 appearances at the BCPBL Final Four including a 2nd place finish in
2009 and a 3rd place finish in 2010.
DREW PARKER PITCHING COACH
Drew is a Chiefs Alumni, a Canadian JNT member, a JUCO World Series
MVP at Chipola JC in 2007 and a graduate of Brewton Parker College in
Georgia. Very athletic and a great fielding pitcher.

GRANT MACDOUGALL
HEAD COACH
Grant played his baseball as a youth in Whalley Little League. He
has coached Whalley Little League and Surrey Amateur Baseball
to 4 Provincial and 5 National championships along with several
appearances in the Little League World Series. Grant coached
District 3 to a Big League World Series Championship, Canada's
only title championship. He coached both 13u and 16u Provincial
girls baseball teams. Coach Miserable returns to manage the Jr
Chiefs after a few years away. He has 2 daughters and lives in
Langley.

alumni, a Canadian JNT
member, a Pan Am Gold Medal
winner for Canada with an 11
year professional tenure with
