Cabalgatas Valiceras is a family business of Active Tourism. Our services focus on guided
horseback riding, based on Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Best Practices.
Our project was born in 2004; the support and recognition from our clients towards our
services make us, to date, the leading company offering horseback riding services in Rocha.
Our rides are conducted by local guides specialized in nature and history of the area, as well as
the art of horseback riding.
Our GOAL: Turn your ride into an unforgettable and safe experience, since we know what your
well deserved vacation means! While also respecting the natural environment surrounding us,
flora, fauna and local culture, as well as our traveling companions that have been part of our
family for a long time…our horses!
For these adventures, you don’t have to be a professional rider, we will give you all the
necessary tools, as well as selecting the right horse for you. We will be willing to optimize your
riding level.
In short, we are young people with extensive experience, combining the coasts of Rocha with
the equestrian life.

2014-2015 RATES:
CLASSIC HORSEBACK RIDING (Up to 1-day):
1: Cabo Polonio Horseback Riding (see itinerary on the web):
All day to Cabo Polonio. Beach, dunes, forest and creek.
Ride Duration: Full day
 4 – 5 hours of Horseback Riding.
 Free time in Cabo Polonio.
 Round trip along different routes and landscapes.
This is a horseback ride to Cabo Polonio that lasts throughout the day. We leave Barra de
Valizas at 9:00am and ride along the beach and dune area (we make a stop on the hill of Buena
Vista), continuing our journey on Calaveras beach until arriving in Cabo Polonio. There we
make a guided interpretive walking tour around Cabo (entrance to the lighthouse, sea-lion
observation, dolphins and, if we are fortunate, southern right whale), and then a pause to have
lunch and go to the beach (lunch on the seafront is optional). In the afternoon, at about
3:30pm, we return to Valizas along south seaside, and we go around the creek after crossing
the hill area, until finally arriving in Barra de Valizas.
Price: $1600 p/person* Include: Horse, saddle, saddlebags, experienced guide throughout the
ride (bilingual: Spanish and English), interpretive walking tour around Cabo Polonio with
entrance to the Lighthouse and marine wildlife watching. Not included: items for personal use,
medical insurance, tips, and extras.
Optional: lunch on the seafront (starter, main course, and dessert. Beverage are not included)

2: Calaveras Horseback Riding (see itinerary):
Pure beach to Cabo Polonio (only one-way)
Ride Duration: Half day
It’s a half-day horseback ride from Barra de Valizas to Cabo Polonio, along Calaveras beach,
passing first through Cerro de la Buena Vista and Valizas beaches.
Price: $1200 p/person* Include: Horse, saddle, saddlebags, experienced guide throughout the
ride (bilingual: Spanish and English), marine wildlife watching. Not included: items for personal
use, medical insurance, tips, and extras.
Optional: lunch on the seafront (starter, main course, and dessert. Beverage are not included)
$500 p/pax.

3: Lagoon Horseback Riding (see itinerary):
Half day on the hills, a hidden lagoon and beach!
Ride Duration: Half day
It’s a half-day horseback ride, from Barra de Valizas to Briosso Lagoon (situated between
Valizas and Aguas Dulces). To get there, we have to cross the Forest Park; our way back is by
the beach.
Price: $1200 p/person* Include: Horse, saddle, saddlebags, experienced guide throughout the
ride (bilingual: Spanish and English), marine wildlife watching and marsh birds. Not included:
items for personal use, medical insurance, tips, and extras.

4: Buena Vista Horseback Riding (see itinerary):
Short horseback rides along the beach and dunes.
Ride Duration: Half day
It’s our shortest half-day horseback ride. A ride to Cerro de la Buena Vista (within the National
Park in Cabo Polonio) from which can be seen both Barra de Valizas such as Cabo Polonio. We
will ride along the beach and dune area.
Price: $1200 p/person* Include: Horse, saddle, saddlebags, experienced guide throughout the
ride (bilingual: Spanish and English), wildlife watching. Not included: items for personal use,
medical insurance, tips, and extras.

HORSEBACK RIDES WITH SCHEDULED DATE:
5: Full Moon Horseback Riding (see itinerary)
Full moon night horseback ride.
It’s a cavalcade that begins at sunset and continues
until moonrise, riding along the beach and hills. A
unique experience that will make you feel the most of
your senses as we gallop along the deserted beach,
while the only light comes from the full moon. To
conclude, we will have an exquisite dinner involving
our typical seafood.
Duration: Half day (beginning in the afternoon until
after dinner).
Price: $1600 p/person Include: Horse, saddle,
saddlebags, experienced guide throughout the ride
(bilingual: Spanish and English), wildlife viewing and
one dinner* involving our typical seafood. Not

RESERVATION:
To make a reservation on any of our horseback rides, you just have to:

99 574 685 or in person in our Reservation and Information Center in Barra de Valizas
within our business hours, to check availability for the day and the ride selected by
you.

Step 2: Pay a deposit of at least $500 per person for any horseback ride of your choice.
What you can do: In person at our Reservation and Information Center in Barra de
Valizas within our business hours (the only way to make full payment by credit card);
or by Bank Deposit (BROU) CA in $ n° 157 0157 694; or via Giro Abitab, Giro through
Rutas del Sol (bus company) or Western Union on behalf of Mauro Ríos (c.i.:
4.187.061-8).

Step 3: As soon as we receive the deposit we will contact you to send confirmation as
well as the Personal & Health Information Form and the Recommendations for the
Cavalcade that we will ride together.

CABALGATAS VALICERAS CANCELLATION POLICY:





To cancel you should communicate directly with Cabalgatas Valiceras.
Cancellations made in advance of at least 24 hours prior to the reserved horseback
ride, may have the dates changed without prejudice to our claim for the deposit fee.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the reserved horseback ride may not
have their dates changed.
Under no circumstances the deposit will be refunded, except in cases in which the
organization is forced to cancel the activity.
Our activities our held outdoors, so weather conditions may restrict their realization.
The organization reserves the right to make changes to the programs, which may be
done without prior notice to the participants, remaining entirely at the discretion of
the organization.
