CREATIVITY
o you know what we do for the ten months a year
when we’re not building the hotel in Jukkasjärvi?
Over the years we’ve been trusted with a number
of client commissions, where we created various
types of installations and products using our
fantastic ice. This eventually evolved into ICEHOTEL Creative
Experience, a product concept that enables the creativity and
the ice from the Torne River to be experienced in other forms
and places.
Together with Chanel we put the
environment in the spotlight, when
we decorated their catwalk with a
265-ton iceberg made of Torne River
snow and ice.

ICEHOTEL Creative Experience can supply products customized specifically for your event, as well as products from our
existing range – a sort of ice à la carte. Almost anything you can
imagine in the world of ice, we can turn into reality – whether it’s
stunning art installations, opulent interiors or icy drinking glasses.
When we started more than 25 years ago, everyone thought we
were crazy. But we didn’t let that bother us. Only imagination
sets the limit.
People love watching as a work of art
is created. Our ice artists are happy
to work in front of an audience at
various locations and events. With
special chainsaws and ice tools,
each sculpture ends up as a unique
work of art.
In Kiruna Sweden we designed and
built a winter playground – a whole
park of snow and ice – based on
kid’s play behavior.

We love being able to realize our
clients’ spectacular ideas. No project
is too big or too small. Why not
freeze a whole car in ice?

takes place every
December in
Stockholm. It’s followed by the
spectacular Nobel NightCap
– a magical a fter-party in an

tive themes. For several years we
have enabled the event sponsors
to display their brands in ice – in
everything from huge blocks to
fancy ice bars. Something which
the guests find enchanting.
T
s it possible to convey a sense
of the cool north in a warmer
climate? Definitely! In 2014
the north-Swedish town of
Umeå was appointed European Capital of
Culture. We joined them on a European
tour aimed at generating interest in their
town, as well as in the northern regions of
Sweden and the country as a whole. Our
artists sculpted crystal clear ice in front of
locals and visitors of major cities such as
Barcelona, London, Paris, Hamburg and
Warsaw. These ice works formed a key
part of a mini-village presenting Umeå
and Sweden. For instance, visitors could
experience the contrast between Swedish
summer and winter, relaxing in a
hammock while our artist crafted an
ice sculpture just meters away.

needed a high-impact
feature to attract the

beautiful exhibit out of magnificent ice blocks, generating a
huge amount of interest. Visitors
flocked to the pavilion to see and

all the way from Jukkasjärvi
Sweden, while enjoying drinks
and champagne served in

NATURAL ICE
FROM THE
TORNE RIVER
The beauty of natural ice inspires
and hypnotizes. Every block is
carefully selected straight from
the Arctic Torne River – the
mightiest of Sweden’s four
national rivers. And as a product
of natural forces, over six months
of cold, snow and wind, it tells
a unique story about its origins.
Natural ice isn’t only more
beautiful than fabricated ice, it’s
also much clearer, more sustain
able and longer lasting. With its
splendor and genuine beauty,
it has a remarkable ability to
captivate people. We’re proud to
be able to share the finest ice
with our clients.
ICE CAPTIVATES
ICE JOINS CELEBRITY
CHEF ON FOODIE TOUR
here’s something special about natural ice that
has slowly frozen from the cleanest, clearest of
waters. This is one of the reasons why ice from
the Torne River was one of the Swedish delicacies featured by 2015 winner of the European
Bocuse D’Or Tommy Myllymäki and wine guru Jens Dolk, in
their traveling TV show “My Kitchen”. They traveled around the
country, highlighting delicious regional food and drink.
T
25 YEARS
With over a quarter of a century of
experience, we’re among the most
knowledgeable in the field. You
could say we’re genuine ice nerds.
Over the years we’ve helped create everything from sculptures and
bars to film sets and TV ads out
of ice – always with considerable
finesse and skill.
ICE EXPERTISE
Just say when, where and how
you want your ice project to
be. We’ll sort out the rest –
from ordering and harvesting to
delivery and disassembly. We’re
on top of all the details; we leave
nothing to chance.
”The ice sculpture
really fascinated people. It was
magical. In this fancy part of
Stockholm it got people talking and
was a social media hit, resulting in a
super-successful launch.”
Manne Schagerström, CEO at ad agency
Animal, on when an upside-down Eiffel
Tower was frozen inside a 6-ton block of
ice for the Swedish launch of Picard, a
French frozen food company.
The ice was used as tableware, which we designed, and in the
tasty apple juice drinks, rhubarb nectar and raspberry desserts
that were served. Guests were fascinated by the story of how the
ice was formed, and by its culinary benefits. And loved how the
crystal-clear ice enhanced the beautiful presentation of the food.

HOW TO ORDER
A SELECTION THAT SUITS YOU
How sustainable is your
production?
HOW IT WORKS
What exactly is the process, when ordering ice?
And how do I handle it, once it arrives? Here we
answer the most common questions.
Photo: Paulina Holmgren
What information do
you need from me?
Great news! Perhaps you already
have an idea of what you want to
do – a grand piano of ice, a car
frozen in ice or something completely different? We
also have a wide range of products ready to order,
everything from drinking glasses to bar modules.
Whether you have an idea of your own, or want to
pick something from our range, just let us know and
we’ll help you.
To realize your ideas, and
to meet – and hopefully
exceed – your expectations,we do require some information
from you. Firstly, a description of your
idea – when, where and how you want
the ice, in what context it is to be used,
whether it’s in- or outside, and how much
ice you want.
How are the blocks produced?
Can you deliver
ice to the other
side of the world?
At our warehouse we have some 4,000
tons of natural ice from the Torne River.
We normally use blocks measuring 2x1x1
meters, but we can also make “snice” – a
combination of snow and ice. For instance if we’re installing
a 5-meter Christmas tree in Copenhagen, we p
 repare all the
pieces at our production facility in Jukkasjärvi. We mark
and pack them in protective plastic on pallets and deliver
them straight to the destination, where our team assembles
them into the finished product.
Anywhere in the
world, at any time
of year, we can deliver our ice. For
more distant d
 estinations it goes by
frozen transport to Gothenburg, and
then onward by ship. Anything is
possible!
TAILOR-MADE,
OR À LA CARTE
How do I receive the ice?
Normally the ice is delivered in a
truck with a tailgate lift. You can then
use a pallet truck to put the ice in
place. Larger volumes can require a
forklift with a capacity of 2.5 tons. Make sure that the
location can withstand the ice’s weight and that the
surface is level, whether in- or outside.

idea for a project, but need help

FROM TORNE RIVER TO YOU
Our ice and our production are highly
sustainable, which is very important to us.
Natural ice requires basically no energy
when it’s produced and transported, because we harvest
it straight from the Torne River and ship it in returning
frozen transport. Plus, all the ice we don’t use simply
melts and seeps back to the Torne River – so there’s no
waste. That’s why we sometimes call it n-ice.
How do I take care of the ice,
once it’s on site?
This is easier than you might think.
When you place your order from us,
you get all the information you need
to make sure the ice lasts as long as possible. It’s
important to keep the ice away from air conditioning
and heat-emitting light sources. If it has to last for
several days, you could add a thermal cover, to protect
it when it’s not in use. The cover slows the melting
process and can be ordered together with the ice.
What do I do with the
ice when the event
is finished?
When the event
is finished
you leave the ice in a
place w
 here it can melt.
If you have used our drain
containers, we return them
to Jukkasjärvi.

ICE À LA CARTE. If you don’t want
to or don’t have time to reinvent
the wheel, but still want to use
ice to make your next event
something really special, we
have a range of products like ice
glasses, dishes and bars, ready
to order.
A LIVING
MATERIAL
Ice is in a state of constant flux;
it changes shape like nothing
else. From the moment it’s unpacked, the surroundings begin
to slowly alter its shape. Its edges
slowly grow rounder, its surfaces
change shape, in a beautiful,
continuous demonstration of its
beautiful transience. Ice never
ceases to fascinate us.
