Santa Fe Restaurant Guide - The Santa Fe Flute School
Santa Fe Restaurant Guide
Santa Fe is a great restaurant city, and it can be difficult picking the best restaurant for your taste and
budget. Hopefully we can steer you in the right direction, based on restaurants we have visited or that
have a long standing history in Santa Fe.
This restaurant guide lists the restaurants in alphabetical order, however we will also be providing lists
broken by drinks, lunch, and dinner recommendations. We will provide those lists to each participant
in your welcome package. Please note that this guide is by no means all encompassing, but merely
scratches the surface of the Santa Fe dining scene!
Happy Eating in Santa Fe!

“Elegant eatery featuring local & seasonal cuisine with Southwestern flair as well as cocktails.
Chef Eric DiStefano has earned an international reputation as one of the Top Chefs of the Southwest,
after an early career filled with awards and accolades. His signature Elk Tenderloin and Fiery Hot and
Sweet Mexican White Prawns have already become widely requested classics.”
Claire and Scott’s note: Coyote Cafe is a well known “tourist” restaurant. It is very expensive for
dinner, but you can also eat less expensively in the rooftop “Cantina,” although there is typically a
very long wait. Some say that Coyote Cafe is not worth the expense.

charm. Skylights flood the dining room with natural light. Handsome carved furnishings, artisanal lighting, and our muchloved hand painted windows create a beautiful backdrop for a memorable meal. The menu showcases old favorites with

“The Shed, a dining institution since 1953 is located on Palace Avenue just east of the plaza. Look for
the small, vividly colored wooden sign that marks the entrance. The restaurant occupies nine quiet
rooms behind Prince Patio, with a sunny brick and flagstone courtyard, Customers can downshift a
couple of centuries and have one of the more satisfying experiences Santa Fe has to offer –“
Claire and Scott’s notes: This is the “Sister” restaurant of La Choza. Consistently voted as having
the best red chile in Santa Fe. It has a nice patio, cozy dining rooms and good food. It is a bit pricier
than La Choza due to the location, and can be very crowded with long waits.

Clockwise from front: The Omega with seared ahi tuna;
Rockstar carrot cake; Salacho: dressed-up taco salad; Vineripened tomato Caprese; Carrot-ginger soup
Review from Santa Fe Reporter: There are sandwiches,
soups and sides as well, but salads are Vinaigrette’s chief
focus.) Vinaigrette redefines “salad” in a way that’s both
appealing and fun—Vinaigrette’s atmosphere is casual and
welcoming, with charmingly rustic décor. Eating healthy,
locally grown food in a cheerful setting, surrounded by
lovely people—sounds like positive change, right there.
Claire and Scott’s note: Very fresh, delicious salads. Really nice outdoor patio. Some think it is a bit
pricey for “just salads” but it serves locally grown produce with interesting combinations. Very short
walk from The Sage Inn!
