This guide is intended to be used primarily as a point-of-reference: it is not here to hold your hand as you play the game, so expect the most obvious details to be omitted. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to email me. [email protected] Notes 1-1 I've tried to include as much, accurate information in this guide as I possibly can. However, as I am a human being, and thus vulnerable to mistakes, it is possible that you may encounter the occassional error. The fact that I am worky on my own, far-from-perfect understanding of Japanese makes things a bit trickier. As I've mentioned before already, please feel free to contact me directly if you notice anything amiss. This marks the fifth and final iteration of my Gundam Senki FAQ: it is 100% complete. I hope you find it a worthy and helpful resource. Downloadable Content 1-2 Two of the biggest draws for Gundam Senki are the online play modes and the promise of downloadable content. Already, Bandai has released a hefty amount ofdownloadable mobile suits, as well as a handful of special downloadable mission—both of which an only be accessed in the Free Mission Mode. The following is currently available through the Japanese PSN store: DLC Date Available Mobile Suit Price September 17, 2009 FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7 ¥300 September 17, 2009 RX-81AS Assault Armor G-Line ¥300 October 15, 2009 RX-78GP01 Gundam Zephyranthes ¥400 October 15, 2009 RX-78GP02 Gundam Physalis ¥400 October 15, 2009 RX-81AS/AC Assault Cannon Type ¥300 October 29, 2009 RX-81ST/AC Assault Cannon Type ¥300 October 29, 2009 AGX-04 Gerbera Tetra ¥400 October 29, 2009 RMS-099 Rick Dias (Black) ¥500 November 12, 2009 RX-78GP01 Full Vernian ¥400 November 12, 2009 RX-81LA/AC Assault Cannon Type ¥300 November 12, 2009 RX-178 Gundam MkII (Titans) ¥500 November 26, 2009 RMS-099 Rick Dias (Red) ¥500 November 26, 2009 RX-81AS/ML Missile Type ¥300 December 3, 2009 RX-178 Gundam MkII (AEUG) ¥500 December 3, 2009 RX-81AS/GS Gatling Type ¥300 The DLC missions are not noted in the above table because all six missions currently available in the PSN store are free to anyone. No further DLC units or missions are planned. DLC suits must then be purchased from the in-game store before you can use them. All of the mobile suit's weapons will also be available in the store. It would, therefore, be advisable to avoid purchasing the DLC unitl such a time that you have sufficient in-game points to purchase them in the game. For help purchasing DLC from the Japanese PSN store, please refer to the "Frequently Asked Questions" section at the tail end of this guide. Menu Translations 1-3 Gundam Senki is a fairly straightforward game, one that's easy enough to pick up pretty much everything you'll ever need to know after only an hour or two of playing around. For the more esoteric bits of knowledge you may need, or if you're too impatient to take the whole trial-by-error approach, I've prepared this small section to give you a very clear idea of precisely how to go about playing this game. I would still, however, recommend against using this section of the guide as it is far better, I think, to figure these things out all on your own. For those of you who purchased the ASIA version of the game, odds are you noticed the single difference between it and the Japanese printing the menu translation card. Most of the stuff you'll find in the game is very straightforward, but if you have any trouble understanding anything, please consult this translation. Mobile Suit Customization Menu Customizing mobile suits with parts and weapons is pretty straightforwar, so you shouldn't have too much trouble. I have included, however, a brief explanation of some of the key aspects you'll want to be aware of while you tinker away at your Zaku. Melee Shoot Speed Radar Damage Generator Cost Usage/Reload Speed This number indicates the relative strength of your melee (close-combat) attacks. This number indicates the relative strength of your ranged attacks. This number indicates the relative speed of your mobile suit while walking or boosting. This number determines the distance at which you can detect enemy targets. This number indicated the combat strength of any given weapon—logically, the higher the number, the greater the damage dealt. Your mobile suit can only produce a finite amount of power, the generator cost is the amount that will be subtracted from your mobile suit's total GEN output. If you'll examine the Japanese descriptions of each weapon at the bottom of your screen, you'll notice letters—S, A, B, C, D or E. Each letter corresponds to how quickly an individual weapon can be used or fired. S is the fasted, E is the slowest—so an A weapon would have a much higher rate of fire than a D weapon, etc., etc. Pilot Upgrade Menu As you complete missions and earn experience, your pilot will level up. When you level up, you are given four different stats to upgrade. These stats are as follows, from top-to-bottom. Melee Skill Ranged Skill Defense Skill Piloting Skill Melee skills effect how quickly and how much damage you can deal with melee attacks, and ranged skill does the same, only with ranged attacks. Defense skill, obvious, effects how much damage you recieve. The one skill most people have questions about is the piloting skill. The piloting skill effects both the speed of your mobile suits, as well as boosting duration. Keep in mind that the maximum level your pilot can reach is 200, and you earn one skill point for each level. This means you will only be able to max out TWO skills, assuming you ignore the other two entirely. Online Mode 1-4 To play Online Mode, you must decide to play either as a Host or as a client. Playing as a Host 1. Create a new Room. 2. Select the Game mode. (in order of selection: cooperative mission-play, battle mode and Battle Royale). 3. Set the number of players (2-8). 4. Set Voice Chat ON/OFF. 5. Input comments for the room's description. Playing as a Client Custom Search: Set search criteria and the system will search existing rooms for a match. Quick Search: Randomly searches for open rooms. *IMPORTANT NOTE: Federation players can only join games hosted by other Federation players. Zeon players can only join games hosted by other Zeon players. Mercenaries can join games hosted by either Federation or Zeon players, but only Mercenaries can join rooms hosted by other Mercenary players.' PvP (Battle or Battle Royale) Options: Game Mode: 1. Death Match 2. Time Match 3. Death Flag (Battle mode only) 4. Time Flag (Battle mode only) Time Limit Magazine: (Unlimited/limited/no-magazines) Damage: 25%/50%/100%/200%/500% As per usual, I would recommend ignoring this translation crap and just focus on learning everything as you play. You'll have a lot more fun, with a lot less headache. Game Controls 1-5 Since the game's options menu provides a nice visual, I would ask that you look to the in-game display with the translation provided above for the easiest way to see how all of the in-game controls are mapped out. But for those of you who are trying, but just can't quite seem to get the hang of this game, I've made a short list of handy tips that ought to help you make mince meat of your many foes. Keep moving: you're an easy target when you're standing still, so try to always be moving. Be especially careful when you kneel down to heal, as you will be incredibly vulnerable to enemy fire. Don't count on your comrades: the allied AI stinks. If you need something done, do it yourself. You'll often face enemies that can attack you at extremely long-ranges and deal out devastating damage. The best way to avoid oncoming fire is to NOT approach in a straight line, assume a slightly diagonal entry vector, and you'll manage to avoid a lot of incoming fire with ease. Resupply (and heal) as often as you can! Sometimes, a single hit can take away as much as 70% of your AP, and you do not want to have to restart a mission because you were too impatient. Enemies also have a bad habit of targeting your supply points, so if you don't resupply when you can, you may not have another opportunity. Pace yourself. Some missions will have a lot of enemies, and very difficult resupply situations (or no resupply at all). Fixed emplacements can be a big pain. You do not want to waste all of your ranged ammunition on small-fry mobile suits when it counts, always be sure to leave a few shots in your magazine, just in case. Don't discount embedded weaponry! Head Vulcans, most of all! The weapons embedded in your mobile suit are not weak! The weakest of all, the Head Vulcans, can still tear an enemy to shreds in a matter of seconds. Don't forget you have them 預 nd don't forget to use them, whenever the need arises. Watch your back. An enemy you can see is an enemy you can avoid 洋 ost of the shots that will kill you will come from behind, so watch out. Be aware of your surroundings! The most common symptom of poor play I've seen is a player who just doesn't seem to realize where he or she is, or where the enemy is. Remember to expand your map so you can see exactly where all of your allies and enemies are, and determine where to move accordingly. You're not helping anyone flying blind. Customization Tips Mess with your mobile suit, and customize them to whichever end most suits your style. I can't really help you too much, but I can mention a few things that were of help to me, in hopes that they can be of help to you, too. First, you'll notice three bars on the right side of the customization screen. These bars represent how well your mobile suit will handle in the three types of terrain (from left to right: land, underwater and lunar). Certain parts can be equipped that boost (or lower) your mobile suits affinity for a particular type of terrain, be mindful. Guns are just for show—it's all about melee. When you compare the damage you deal to the risk you take, melee trumps ranged combat all the time. You can deal out a lot more damage a lot faster, you're also vulnerable to the enemy's melee attacks, but the AI isn't that great and the enemy suit you're so close to will also serve as cover for ranged fire. Ranged weapons? They have limited ammo and tend to missa lot a problem with melee. I recommend not modifying the Shoot (melee) stat, and only use ranged weapons for aircraft and fixed weapons, and things of that nature. Speed is awesome. Upgrading your speed and boost stats is a MAJOR help. The limit is 99, and if you reach it, you'll be a monster even the Red Comet couldn't beat. AP is not as much of a concern as you might think. Regardless of how much AP you add up, you're not going to want to be taking too many hits (if any) because you never know how powerful the enemy attack is going to be. If you can keep your AP above 2200 or so, you should be fine. The three biggest elements of MS customization are firepower, armor, and speed. Sensor range is worthless—most enemies will be able to easily dodge anything that's not shot from mid or close range. Personally, I find armor to be equally pointless—for me, the best tactic seems to be to prioritize speed above all else, with a secondary focus on firepower. This gives the game a fast pace, which is tons of fun, and can also add an element of "realism." Similar to how battles were fought in the One Year War, you'll be able to kill most enemies in 1-3 hits at top levels, and you'll also go down with just as few hits. As I've said before, the key to this game is moving—being fast, and being nimble. If you're getting hit more than once or twice in any mission, you need more practice! Multiplayer Tips 1-7 Multiplayer in Gundam Senki is handled exclusively through the Playstation network, sorry, folks—no splitscreen multiplayer here. Whatever you do in the single-player free missions transfers over to the multiplayer freemissions, and vis versa. Playing online can be pretty daunting if you don't have much knowledge of Japanese, but there are a few things you can do to make your experience flow smoother. Be polite. Not knowing the language is no excuse to be rude, though that's no guarantee others won't be rude to you. When you enter a room, it's nice to say something. Even something simple, like Yorosiku (akin to "please take care of me") will be understood by most of your fellow players. From an Anonymous of /m/: <> Just say, '4649' and that'll be fine. <> Choose your mobile suit wisely. Many players are high-level, so they really don't have the patience for other players who want to show off. Don't go around in a Gelgoog Jager with a beam machine gun, killing everything in sight, before anyone else gets a chance. That's no fun for anyone, and it'll get you kicked. Remember, almost everyone you meet online is playing the game for one simple reason: to have fun. If you can't be a team player, don't play at all. <> There can be a great many people online at a given time, and it currently takes the game a VERY long time to load up the room list. When finding a game, you'll want to be selecting your room as quickly as you can, or it will be full by the time you decide. Pay attention to the comments for each room. It's okay if you can't read Japanese, but there are a few symbols you should look out for. I've done my best to draw the characters, but I don't exactly have the best skills with kanji, don't expect 100% perfect accuracy here. Look at other people. When you're in the room, you can view the mobile suits and equipment of the other players with you, so do so. Try to emulate what they have. If everyone else is using a low-tier suit, don't go in with a Kampfer or Gegloog Jager, that just ain't fun. Don't steal kills. If someone else is fighting an enemy... you should be fighting a 'different' enemy. Don't get angry if Japanese players boot you from the lobby! It's hard to manage a lag-free game with players from all over the world, and frequently hosts will boot playerswith poor connections. Don't get mad—move on. Host your own game, or find some localfriends. In short, be polite and courteous. As time passes, the online community will become smaller and smaller—particularly among those of us who speak English. If you want to be able to play with other people, you'll only be able to do so if they feel like playing with you. Characters & Story 2-0 The story begins at the Battle of A Baoa Qu, in the last days of the One Year War. As the Federation and Zeon forces clash in the final climactic battle, two men struggle to survive. Eric Blanke, a Zeon mobile suit pilot, watches helplessly as his friends and comrades perish, one after another. Courand Hughes, a squad captain, is helpless to protect his friends and subordinates as they die, one by one. Both men are left terribly scarred by the battle. Two years later: Universal Century 0081. Eric Blanke continues to fight the Federation, alone, and against all odds. He seeks to punish the Earth Federation for its many evils. Against him stands Courand Hughes, captain of a special-operations mobile suit unit created specifically to combat renegade Zeon forces like Eric. Courand devotes himself wholly to battle, seeking his own death so he might rejoin his many friends who fell at A Baoa Qu. Phantom Sweepers 2-1 The Phantom Sweepers are an elite mobile suit task force within the Earth Federation Space Forces, tasked with hunting down Zeon forces refusing to obey the ceasefire agreement. Mass devastation on the Earth, the communication and sensor-blocking effects of Minovsky particles, and the depletion of EFSF military forces following the battle of A Baoa Qu mean that these renegade Zeon forces pose a very real threat to the stability of the Earth Sphere. For those familiar with the Universal Century timeline, the Phantom Sweepers are (ostensibly) one of many such task-forces, which would latter be organized into a single special-forces organization, the Titans, and used to police the Earth Sphere. Courand Hughes (Tatsuki Hiroshi) Captain of the Phantom Sweepers team, his mission is to seek out and destroy Zeon forces that have refused to surrender since the end of the One Year War. During the One Year War, Hughes saw his entire team annihilated, a memory that haunts him to this day. He is thirty-five years old Hugh Carter (Hiroshi Yanaka) Demoted for defying orders from a superior officer, Carter has a severe dislike for authority figures. He is 28 years old. Allison Cherie' (Chie Nakamura) Formerly a test-pilot at the Federation's Augusta military base, Alice was transferred to the Phantom Sweepers against her will due to a shortage of personnel. She is 24 years old. Bob Rock (Ogata Kenichi) A man with a very direct personality, Bob Rock stays with the troops in battle even under the most violent of circumstances. During the One Year War he personally witnessed a colony drop. He is 45 years old. Darrel Godwin (Otomo Ryuuzo) A very formal man, sometimes called a tight-ass. He is a very flexible and competent soldier. He, personally, was the driving force behind the establishment of the Phantom Sweepers. He is 50 years old. Liang Mao (Ando Mayumi) A woman with an astonishing military career, but a harsh personality. She provides battlefield support, but if she does not like you she will not speak to you atall. She is 27 years old. Robert Hartley (Nomura Kenji) An unambitious lieutenant who dislikes hurting people and prefers to lazily waste his days. He is the last person you would expect to find in a top-secret military unit like the Phantom Sweepers. He is 40 years old. Kamal Kumar (Kawada Shinji) A new recruit assigned to the Phantom Sweepers. He is 23 years old. Jaime Carmona (Nakai Kazuya) He transferred to the Phantom Sweepers in order to fulfill and old debt, placing himself in great danger. He is very confident in his abilities and prefers to fight by himself. He is 25 years old. Invisible Knights 2-2 After the Battle of A Baoa Qu, the Principality of Zeon fell apart. With both Gihren and Kycillia Zabi dead, the people of Zeon had no clear government. This chaos allowed the Earth Federation to dismantle to old Principality and restore Zeon to a republic—essentially, creating a Zeon that was little more than a puppet of the federation. Many Zeon forces refused to acknowledge the surrender, and continued to fight against the Federation. Lacking organization and resources, these Zeon remnants were either isolated, and forced to operate as pirates and terrorists, or forced to go into hiding. The Invisible Knights is a special commando group, working with many disparit remnant groups to stage counter-attacks on key Federation facilities on the Earth's surface. Though the dream of Zeon is dead, these warriors fight on, with eyes that can only see vengeance, and wills that can only seek blood. Eric Blanke (Uchida ???) A hero of the One Year War, Eric is the captain of the Invisible Knights. A fiercely determined man, he seeks to avenge the Federation's bloody Tears of Varuna-operation. He is 20 years old. Blade Ailos (Hamada Kenji) A quick-witted man with a kind heart, Baade is a childhood friend of Eric and often offers his captain advice and counsel. He is 20 years old. Fritz Bauer (Toriumi Kosuke) A childhood friend of both Eric and Baade, Fritz can be overly emotional at times, but he is very courageous. He is 20 years old. Christo Doerr (Koyama Takeshi) An engineer who provides maintenance for the Invisible Knights' mobile suits, he was once a soldier but became a mechanic due to a leg injury. He is 25 years old. Istel Philine (Fujimura Ayumi) A young woman who joined up with the Invisible Knights after the end of the war, she is quite skilled and became a full-fledged operator at a very young age. She is 18 years old. Otto Ikemann (Ishii Yasutsugu) A pure soldier who believes it is every man's duty to fight up until his very last breath. He is 42 years old. Hilde Nietzsche (Ito Shizuka) A proud woman who is determined to live in the present, she is also a very sore loser. She is 20 years old. Ebel Gusuta (Matsubara Daisuke) A subordinate of Eric from the One Year War, Ebel is generally unremarkable. He is 19 years old. Aresu Rolf (Maeno Tomoaki) A man with a cowardly nature, his time with Eric causes him to try and change himself. He is 19 years old. Story Summary (Spoilers) 2-3 What follows is a brief summary of the single player campaign in Gundam Senki, for both the Phantom Sweepers and Invisible Knights campagins. Both stories are more or less the same, only diverging at the very end. Operation Varuna's Tears is a plan by the Zeon Remnant to hijack the Earth Federations lunar mass driver and use it to attack the Earth. They basically want to hold the Earth hostage and force the Republic of Zeon's government (which is mostly a puppet-state of the Earth Federation) to disband, and officially recognize Zeon as the victors of the One Year War. As you can probably guess, it's not exactly the smartest or most imaginative plan in the world. Anyway, Zeon's Invisible Knights are responsible for carrying out this plan. Eric sees it as revenge for all of his comrades who died in the One Year War. Opposing the Invisible Knights at various turns are the Federations elite task force, the Phantom Sweepers, led by Hughes. The Invisible Knights have pretty shoddy equipment, so to carry out their plan they end up constantly trying to steal supplies from the Earth Federation. Many of their mobile suits and weapons, including the Efreet Nacht, are Zeon mobile suits that the Federation captured, re-captured by the Invisible Knights. In order to set Varuna's Tears in motion, the Zeon remnant launches several diversionary missions throughout the Earth in order to keep the Federation from realizing their true goals. Allison Cherie is assigned to the Phantom Sweepers from Odessa, where she served as a test pilot for the RX-81 line of mobile suits. She is a former member of Eric's squadron, and her brother currently serves in the Invisible Knights. She infiltrated the Augusta Lab near the end of the One Year War, and stayed with the Federation even after the war ended. During the firefight at Augusta, Cherie recognizes Eric and blurts out part of the Invisible Knight's plan, indicating that she is, in fact, a Zeon spy. As a result, Hughes is ordered to disable Cherie so she can be captured and interrogated. He shoots her mobile suit and she is turned over to Federation security. Later, when the Phantom Sweepers steal an HLV to transport themselves to the Moon, Cherie appears in a GM just in time to save Hughes' life. During her time with the Federation, Cherie developed feeling for Hughes and her other comrades and did not want to see them die. She sacrifices her life, killing her brother in the process, as Aden Spaceport erupts in flame. When the HLVs leave Earth, the organizational structure of the Zeon remnant is in shambles, their headquarters in Indochina overrun by the Federation. They gather what little strength they have (based mostly around a single Musai) and assault two different Mass Drivers simultaneously. At this point, the Federation Pegasus-class warship, Thoroughbred, arrives at the Moon and unveils a new Gundam mobile suit, the RX-78-7, piloted by Courand Hughes. Hughes defeats the Musai cruiser, but Eric's team has still succeeded in capturing a mass driver. The Phantom Sweepers assault the mass driver, and at this point the story branches toward two different endings. In the Phantom Sweepers ending, Hughes kills Eric and prepares to sacrifice his life in a suicide-run on the mass driver. Before he can do so, however, the Thoroughbred appears and destroys the mass driver with its weaponry. Hughes hears the voices of his teammates, and remembers his old team in the One Year War. He apologizes to the ghosts of the dead, and says he cannot join them (die) today. On the Invisible Knights side, Eric dominates Hughes' Gundam, but does not kill him. Unfortunately, the mass driver was damaged in the battle and the target cannot be altered, so Eric fires the mass driver at Augusta. As the mass driver hurdles its payload toward the Earth, a massive federation force arrives at the facility, surrounding Eric's Gelgoog Custom. The game ends at this point. Presumably Eric would be either captured or killed. Mission Guide 3-0 The mission guide isn't intended solely as a walkthrough—if you know how to play the game, and can play it well, you don't really need a lot of help. If you do need a lot of help, this is not the place to look for it. Most missions are fairly straightforward. For the most part, expect the material here to be fairly light, if I think a mission is a little difficult or confusing, I'll mention a few tips that might help ya' clear it. Gundam Senki has two campaigns, one for the Earth Federation's Phantom Sweepers, and another for the Zeon Remnants—the Invisible Knights. Each campaign consists of two types of missions: story missions and optional missions. Story missions are very cinematic and advance the story. Once you beat a story mission, you cannot play that mission again. Optional missions, however, do not need to be played to beat the campaign. These are typically very, very simple missions and they can be re-played any number of times. So if you're having trouble clearing a story mission, farming optional missions for experience and points is a perfectly viable strategy. I have not included any sort of guide for the optional tutorial missions, reasoning that they are so simple that no one could ever, possibly, have anytrouble with them whatsoever. There are a few things you need to know when looking through this guide. First, the enemies listed are not necessarily ALL of the enemy types you will encounter, think of them merely as the enemies you should expect to encounter. Items: for the story mission, there are two types of items: N and H. N means the item will be given to you on normal difficulty, and H means you'll get the item after beating the mission on hard difficulty. The items gained from easy difficulty are not listed. Things are a bit trickier with the free missions. Each mission has a list of five obtainable items, numbered one through five. Each time you beat the mission, you will receive a RANDOM selection of three items. If you're playing on Normal, you may receive items 1, 2 or 3. If you are playing on hard difficulty, you may obtain items 2, 3, or 4. Similarly, Hell difficulty nets items 3, 4 and 5. Because the reward is random, you may beat a mission on Hell difficulty and only receive item number three. It's annoying, but you have to deal with it. To access a mission's Hard mode, you must beat that mission on Normal difficulty. Similarly, to access a missions Hell mode, you must beat that mission again on hard mode. Earth Federation Campaign 3-1 The Earth Federation, or Phantom Sweeper, single-player campaign is fairly straightforward. You will move from one battlefield to another. In each new area, you will play through a single story related mission that, once completed, cannot be replayed. Once you've completed an area's story mission, a second, optional mission for that area will unlock. These optional missions can be replayed an infinite number of times and are very useful for farming parts and experience. Story Mission #01 – Libyan Desert "Operation Desert Wind" Type: Destroy All Enemies 砂漠の風作戦 N1: Bullpup Machine Gun N2: Beam Saber [G] N3: Armor Upgrade H1: Bullpup Machine Gun H2: Beam Saber [G] H3: Spiked Shield Briefing: The Phantom Sweepers are to provide support to another Federation mobile suit team hunting the Zeon remnants in Africa. Strategy: The hostiles are spread pretty much all over the map, so if you can't see any enemies on your radar, you can press start to view the big map and see where everyone is. Alternatively, this is a dusk-battle, so weapons fire is quite visible from long-distance. If you want to find the enemy quickly, just follow the pretty lights. Optional Mission #01 - Libyan Desert "Libyan Desert Mop-Up Duty" リビア砂漠掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Armor Upgrade N2: GM Beam Saber N3: Spare Magazine H1: Armor Upgrade H2: GM Beam Saber H3: Ground Warfare Module Briefing: Ground radar has detected enemy mobile suits in the area. They pose a threat to several military installations nearby. You are to completely wipe out the enemy forces. Strategy: A simple kill-everything mission, should be pretty easy for you (if a bit time-consuming). Remember, unlike story missions, optional missions can be completed any number of times, making them perfect for points-farming. Story Mission #02 – Syrian Desert "Rescue Mission" 輸送部隊救出任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Rocket Launcher N2: Battle Shield N3: Spare Magazine H1: Rocket Launcher H2: Battle Shield H3: Ground Warfare Module Briefing: Zeon mobile suits are attacking a transport convoy in the desert. Defend the transports and destroy all attacking mobile suits. Strategy: Again: The hostiles are spread pretty much all over the map, so if you can't see any enemies on your radar, you can press start to view the big map and see where everyone is. Alternatively, this is a duskbattle, so weapons fire is quite visible from long-distance. If you want to find the enemy quickly, just follow the pretty lights. Story Mission #13 – Syrian Desert "Aden Base Express" シリア砂漠巡視任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Armor Upgrade +3 N2: Spare Magazine x2 N3: EN Pack x2 H1: Armor Upgrade +3 H2: Spare Magazine x2 H3: EN Pack x2 Briefing: Zeon remnants have seized control of the main supply road leading to Aden Base. Break through the enemy line. Strategy: Kill everything you see. Nice and simple, but remember, this one's supposed to be an easy mission. Things are about to get much more difficult. Optional Mission #02 - Syrian Desert "Syrian Desert Patrol Duty" アデン基地急行任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Melee Upgrade N2: AP Recovery Unit N3: Bullpup Machine Gun H1: Melee Upgrade H2: AP Recovery Unit H3: Magella Top Cannon Briefing: Zeon remnants have infested the area. Seek them out and destroy them. Strategy: Like most of the optional missions, this is very straightforward. Simply kill everything, the faster the better. Story Mission #03 - Odessa "The Odessa Offensive" オデッサ防衛戦 Type: Destroy all Enemies Defeat MS-08NT/X Efreet Nacht N1: Beam Gun N2: Radar Upgrade N3: Apogee Motor H1: Beam Gun H2: Radar Upgrade H3: Space Warfare Module Briefing: The Odessa military base is under large-scale assault by Zeon remnant forces. The enemy is wellorganized and well-equipped. You are to support the Federation forces and drive the Zeon attackers out of Odessa. Strategy: This mission can be a bit tricky. For the first portion of the mission, you're tasked with annihilating several squads of attacking mobile suits. The enemies will come at you from two directions, with a very large circular structure in the middle. Rather than wasting a lot of time boosting around the structure to get from group to group, try going over. This mission also marks the first boss battle of the game, and it's a tough one. The Efreet moves like a red comet—very, very quickly. Most ranged weapons simply will not be able to hit it (at any range). If you're determined to kill it with ranged weapons, I'd recommend the Beam Spray Gun for its scattershot effect. Personally, however, I found it much easier to take outthe Efreet at close-range with the GM's beam sabers. I spent a little on upgrading the beam sabers to do 165 damage (and dual-wielded them). The Efreet is a close-range monster, so you'll need to time your attack well so that you're not counterattacked. It's best to strike from behind. After taking a full combo of saber-slashes, the Efreet will fall down. While you can still damage the Efreet while it's face-down in the sand, you should be patient. Circle around behind the Efreet, and wait for it to stand. As soon as it stands, complete another full combo. Continue repeating these actions until the Efreet gets down to about 15-20% health, and the mission will end. Optional Mission #03 - Odessa "Odessa Intercept Mission" Type: Destroy all Enemies オデッサ迎撃任務 N1: Beam Saber [G] N2: Generator Upgrade N3: GM Command Shield H1: Beam Saber [G] H2: Generator Upgrade H3: Generator Upgrade +3 Briefing: A small contingent of Zeon troops has infiltrated Odessa. You are to hunt them down and destroy them. Strategy: Don't get yourself killed: shouldn't be too hard, this is a pretty easy mission. Story Mission #04 - Khyber Pass オデッサ迎撃任務 "Desperate Pursuit" Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Heat Sword N2: Propellant Tank +1 N3: Undersea Warfare Module H1: Heat Sword H2: Propellant Tank +1 H3: Undersea Warfare Module Briefing: The Efreet that attacked Odessa Base has disappeared. Many of the Zeon forces that participated in the attack, however, havebeen found. They are attempting to retreat through the Khyber Pass. You are to hunt them down and destroy them. Strategy: The bazooka-wielding Doms can be a bit of a handful 謡 atch carefully so you can dodge in time, otherwise you'll find yourselfshort on AP far, far too often. Prioritize defending your supply point; let the enemy mobile suits come to you. Optional Mission #04 - Khyber Pass "Canyon Cleanup" 峡谷地帯掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Generator Upgrade +1 N2: Ranged Upgrade N3: EN Pack H1: Generator Upgrade +1 H2: Ranged Upgrade H3: Spiked Shield II Briefing: Zeon mobile suits have been caught hiding the the canyon! Search them out and destroy them. Strategy: Shoot stuff. Or cut stuff. Try not to be shot or cut. Story Mission #05 - Belfast Port/Atlantic Ocean "Industrial Defense" Type: Defend the Area 工業地帯防衛任務 N1: Generator Upgrade +1 N2: Capacity Upgrade N3: Apogee Motor +1 H1: Generator Upgrade +1 H2: Capacity Upgrade H3: Apogee Motor Briefing: The Zeon Remnant is assaulting the port at Belfast in an attempt to steal military supplies to further their terrorist activities. You are to prevent them from stealing the supplies at all costs. Strategy: There's a lot of water in this map, so get your undersea combat stats up as high as you can. Acguys are pretty easy to kill, but the Goggs can be nasty, they've got a heavy punch that makes them hard to approach, and they've got a lot of armor. Be careful, be patient, and remember to dodge. Once you repel the invading Zeon forces, you'll begin the second phase of the mission, hunting down those invaders in the middle of an ocean. If you don't have a nice, aqua-savvy mobile suit, you'll really regret it. Ignore the Z'Goks and focus on the mobile armor. Pick off its weapons before targeting the hull directly. Once you kill the mobile armor, the mission will, finally, end. Optional Mission #05 - Belfast Port "Harbor Patrol" 工業地帯巡視任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Apogee Motor N2: GM Shield II N3: GM Beam Saber II H1: Apogee Motor H2: GM Shield II H3: GM—>GM Sniper Upgrade Briefing: Underwater guerillas are attacking the supply depot. Wipe them out. Strategy: Head for cover, stay out of the wate and take out the Hygoggs as soon as you possibly can. Optional Mission #6 - Atlantic Ocean "Amphibious Assault" 水陸両用 MS 攻撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Radar Upgrade N2: Propellant Tank N3: Beam Knife H1: Radar Upgrade H2: Propellant Tank H3: Propellant Tank +4 Briefing: Numerous Zeon forces have established themselves Underwater. Destroy both the mobile suits and their supplies. Strategy: There are some fixed turrets (Underwater? Why would they do that?) that can tear you apart. Approach from cover and kill them quickly. A little while after you start the mission, a few E-type Z'Goks will appear and make a b-line for your supply point. Pay attention to your radar so you can take them out before you lose your supply point, or you will most certainly regret it. Story Mission #6 - Bahamas "Supply Salvage" 物資奪還任務 Type: Recover the Supplies N1: Mass-Produced Beam Rifle N2: Radar Upgrade +1 N3: Sniper Scope 3.0 H1: Mass-Produced Beam Rifle H2: Radar Upgrade H3: GM Sniper Shield Briefing: Seek out the Zeon forces and recover the supplies they stole. Strategy: Aquatic customization is a MUST. The Aquatic GM would be a most wise choice. The enemy mobile suits will attempt to destroy the supply containers, which will decrease the amount of points you earn after the completion of the mission. Prevent them from destroying the supplies to maximize your points. Optional Mission #7 - Bahamas "Maritime Radar Interception" 海上レーダー迎撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Undersea Warfare Module N2: Armor Upgrade N3: Melee Upgrade +2 H1: Undersea Warfare Module H2: Armor Upgrade H3: Capacity Upgrade +1 Briefing: Zeon remnants are in the area. Hunt them down and kill them all. Strategy: You don't have to have an aquatic mobile suit since most of the combat will occur on land, just be careful not to get drawn into the water by the Z'Goks. Story Mission #7 - Jungle "Jungle Mop-Up" 潜伏部隊掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Bullpup Machine Gun N2: Generator Upgrade +2 N3: GM Command Beam Saber H1: Bullpup Machine Gun+ H2: Generator Upgrade +2 H3: Apogee Motor +1 Briefing: The Earth Federation mobile suit corps is mobilizing to weed out Zeon remnant forces hiding in the jungle. You are to participate in this mission and take out as many Zeon mobile suits as you can. Strategy: Watch out for Zaku Snipers on top of the cliffs. Luckily, most of the cliffs are short enough to jump on top of and if you hang by the base of the wall near a target, the Sniper will jump down to greet you. Optional Mission #8 - Jungle "Cleanup Duty" 密林地帯掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Melee Upgrade N2: Ground Warfare Module N3: EN Pack H1: Melee Upgrade H2: EN Pack H3: Gundam [G]»Gundam [G] GM Head Upgrade Briefing: Zeon forces have been detected in the area. Eliminate them. Strategy: Very straightforward mission. Watch out for the snipers and you should be fine. Just remember to watch your AP and defend your supply point. Story Mission #8 - Indochina "Army Crutch" 東南アジア方面軍支援任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Beam Saber [G] N2: Beam Saber [G] II N3: Missile Launcher+ H1: Beam Saber [G] H2: Missile Launcher+ H3: Battle Shield II Briefing: Zeon forces in southeast Asia have been repeatedly launching attacks against Federation facilities. You are to move into the norther region of Indochina to root out the Zeon aggressors. Strategy: When you encounter the Efreet, use the same strategy you used at Odessa. Eric shouldn't give you too much trouble. Optional Mission #9 - Indochina 密林基地掃討任務 "Jungle Mop-Up" Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Ranged Upgrade N2: Armor Upgrade +1 N3: Apogee Motor +2 H1: Armor Upgrade +1 H2: Ranged Upgrade H3: Gundam [G] Upgrade Part Briefing: Zeon forces have been detected lurking near the base. We don't know what they're up to, but we need you to eliminate them. Strategy: Boost. Jump. Kill. Story Mission #9 - New Yark "Defending York" ニューヤーク防衛任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: N1: Ranged Upgrade +1 N2: Sniper Scope 4.0 N3: EN Pack H1: Ranged Upgrade +1 H2: Sniper Scope 4.0 H3: EN Pack Briefing: The newly-rebuilt city of New Yark is under attack by Zeon remnants. The utopian cityscape serves as a symbol of the might and prosperity of the Federation. You must defend New Yark no matter the cost. Strategy: A very simple, nice mission. Enjoy the cinematic at the end. Here's hoping you weren't too fond of the poor guy. Optional Mission #10 - New Yark "Mop-Up Duty" ニューヤーク掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Ground Warfare Module N2: Apogee Motor N3: Ranged upgrade +2 H1: Ground Warfare Module H2: Apogee Motor H3: RX-81 Shield Briefing: Zeon remnants are in the area. Destroy them. Strategy: Ain't the city beautiful? This mission is pretty easy, so why not take a slow pace and enjoy the scenery? Story Mission #10 - Ural Mountains "Defend the Radar" レーダー基地防衛任務 Type: Defend the Area N1: Prototype Beam Rifle N2: Generator Upgrade +3 N3: Apogee Motor +3 H1: Prototype Beam Rifle H2: Apogee Motor +3 H3: Propellant Tank +3 Briefing: Zeon forces are attacking our radar station on the mountain's peak. Defend the radar from the invaders. Strategy: God, I love this mission. Love this map. It's absolutely gorgeous and it's the only mountain I've ever seen in a game that actually feels like an honest-to-goodness mountain. Anyway, this mission should be fairly easy. The big thing to look out for will be the Dodais and Dopps that fly overhead. They move fast, and if they get to the peak it's mission over. To make matters worse, you need to be near to the peak (at a high altitude) in order to target them. I recommend using melee weapons on the mobile suits, and keeping a beam rifle in reserve for the aircraft. Keep your radar zoomed out, and when you see a flight approaching, get up to the top of the mountain as quickly as you can. Don't worry about locking on or your radar, go into sniper view (R3) and aim your shots manually. The closer they get to your location, the more you'll have to lead your target. If you can manage this much, the mission should be a piece of cake and you should adore it as much as I do. Optional Mission #11 - Ural Mountains Mountain Radar Interception" 山岳レーダー迎撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Propellant Tank +1 N2: GM»GM Sniper Upgrade N3: Radar Upgrade +2 H1: Propellant Tank +1 H2: GM»GM Sniper Upgrade H3: Armor Upgrade +4 Briefing: Zeon forces are invading the mountain. Repel them. Strategy: Just like the story mission, so you should already know what to do. Should be a lot of fun, no? Story Mission #11 - Augusta Lab "The Augusta Defensive" オーガスタ防衛戦 Type: Defend the Radar Domes N1: RX-81 Beam Saber N2: Heavy Rifle N3: Short Beam Rifle H1: Heavy Rifle H2: Short Beam Rifle H3: RX-81 Beam Saber Briefing: Zeon forces have launched a massive assault on the Augusta military installation. They are attempting to destroy the base's four large radar dishes: you must defend the installation. Strategy: Similar to the Ural Mountains radar defense. Take out the mobile suits as quickly as you can 容 specially the Zaku Cannons and keep a wide-area radar view so you can spot the incoming aircraft immediately and take them out. Optional Mission #12 - Augusta Lab "The Augusta Interception" オーガスタ迎撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Ranged Upgrade +4 N2: Generator Upgrade +1 N3: RX-81»RX-81 Missile Upgrade H1: Ranged Upgrade +4 H2: Generator Upgrade +1 H3: RX-81»RX-81 Gatling Upgrade Briefing: Enemy mobile suits have invaded Odessa. Destroy them. Strategy: Very simple and straightforward. Enjoy hunting Gelgoogs. I know I did. Story Mission #13 – Syrian Desert I've organized missions by area, so scroll back up to the Syiran Desert area for all the Story Mission #13 information you want. Story Mission #14 - Aden Spaceport "The Burning HLVs" HLV 発射阻止任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: RX-81»RX-81 Gatling Upgrade N2: Space Warfare Module N3: RX-81»RX»81 Missile Upgrade H1: RX-81»RX-81 Gatling Upgrade H2: Space Warfare Module H3: RX-81»RX»81 Missile Upgrade Briefing: Zeon forces are invading Aden Base with the intention of stealing HLVs to escape into space. You are to destroy all of the HLVs to prevent the Zeon escape. Strategy: This mission can be a real pain. Stay where you are and let the nearby mobile suits come to you, then take them out quickly while using the cliff for cover. Then try to flank the enemy, taking out the fixed beam turrets first. Don't approach the gate until most of the enemies have been taken out as soon as you approach the gate, Zeon's Invisible Knights will appear. The Efreet can be a real pain. Take him out from a distance, if you can. Eric's melee attacks are far better now than they were the first few times you fought, so matter how well equipped you are, you're not going to be much of a match at close range. Optional Mission #13 - Aden Spaceport "Intercept" アデン迎撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Melee Upgrade +1 N2: Propellant Tank +4 H1: Propellant Tank +4 H2: Melee Upgrade +1 H3: GM Rifle Briefing: Zeon forces have invaded Aden Spaceport. They appear to be a small scouting unit. Destroy them. Strategy: Watch out for the supply points and surprise, surprise--the Efreet. Story Mission #15 - Moon (Hills) "Hunting Musai" ムサイ級軽巡洋艦追撃 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Melee Upgrade +3 N2: Beam Saber+ N3: Space Warfare Module H1: Ranged Upgrade +3 H2: Beam Saber+ H3: Space Warfare Module Briefing: The Zeon remnants are gathering there forces on the surface of the moon. A small group led by a Musaiclass warship is attempting to attack the Mass Driver at the lunar base. Attack the Zeon forces and eliminate the Musai. Strategy: I don't really get this mission. This is the only time you'll be fighting on a rail, and it's the only time you'll be seeing the Heavy Full Armor Gundam Unit 7. Anyway, this is insanely. Lock-on will be automatic. Use your beam rifle to take out most of the enemies, but use your beam cannon to take out the mobile armors and the Musai quickly. Optional Mission #14 - Moon (Hills) "Lunar Patrol" 月面巡視任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Apogee Motor +1 N2: GM Quel Beam Saber N3: Gundam Beam Saber III H1: Apogee Motor +1 H2: Melee Upgrade +4 H3: Gundam Beam Saber III Briefing: Zeon forces are in the area. Destroy them. Strategy: Kill stuff. Have fun. The Hills are definitely the nicest of the three lunar maps. Story Mission #16 - Moon (Mountains) "The Last Line of Defense" Type: Destroy all Enemies 最終防衛ライン突破 N1: Capacity Upgrade N2: Beam Rifle+ N3: AP Recovery Unit +1 H1: Capacity Upgrade H2: Beam Rifle+ H3: AP Recovery Unit +1 Briefing: The attacking Musai was a diversion. Zeon forces are approaching a different mass driver, and there's not much time less. Intercept the Zeon mobile suits and make your way to the mass driver as quickly as you can. Strategy: God, I absolutely love this mission. Best one in the game. Basically, it's just one big ol' brawl. You'll be fighting a ridiculous amount of enemies, and by now you should have your suit upgraded to the point where you're taking them out very, very fast. It shouldn't pose much of a challenge, but it should be insanely awesome. Optional Mission #15 - Moon (Mountains) "Mop-Up Operations" 月山岳地帯掃討作戦 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Apogee Motor +5 N2: Ranged Upgrade +1 N3: Gundam Shield II H1: Apogee Motor +5 H2: Ranged Upgrade +1 H3: Armored Gundarium Briefing: Suspicious activity has been detected on the area. Inspect the area and if you discover any Zeon presence, annihilate them. Strategy: Kill stuff. Go melee crazy--you don't have a supply point this time around. Story Mission #17 - Mass Driver "The Terror of the Mass Driver" マスドライバー発射阻止任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Generator Upgrade +4 N2: Capacity Upgrade +2 N3: Apogee Motor +4 H1: Capacity Upgrade +2 H2: Apogee Motor +4 H3: Generator Upgrade +5 Briefing: The Zeon remnant forces have taken control of the Mass Driver. You are to assault the Mass Driver Base, break through the defenses, take out all of the enemies occupying the base, and prevent the activation of the Mass Driver. Strategy: This one can be a real hassle. In the end, you'll be facing off against your old friend Eric Blanke 葉 his time in a custom Gelgoog. Oh, and you're restricted to the default Gundam Unit 7, so it's gonna be a bit more difficult than it should be. My advice? Hit the edge of the map and follow the edge all the way around the the base wall. Use your rifle or Vulcans on the first beam turret, and then melee all of the other turrets on the wall. The big blue turret can also be destroyed via melee attacks, but it takes some time. Once all of the turrets are taken out, clean up the remaining mobile suits as best you can. When the next portion of the mission begins, you will be able to kneel down and heal. If you move forward, Eric's Gelgoog will appear and your duel will begin. Either keep your distance and pound him with ranged weapons, or try to melee him, just be careful you don't start getting hit, 'cause you'll go down fast. Optional Mission #16 - Mass Driver "Mass Driver Patrol" マスドライバー偵察任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: High Power Generator N2: Ranged Upgrade +5 H1: High Power Generator H2: Ranged Upgrade +5 H3: Armored Gundarium Briefing: Zeon forces have occupied the Mass Driver. Eliminate them. Strategy: The last optional mission in the game. I don't care how you clear it, just remember to have fun doing it. Zeon Campaign 3-2 The Zeon, or Invisible Knights, single-player campaign is also fairly straight forward. ou will move from one battlefield to another. In each new area, you will play through a single story related mission that, once completed, cannot be replayed. Once you've completed an area's story mission, a second, optional mission for that area will unlock. These optional missions can be replayed an infinite number of times and are very useful for farming parts and experience. Story Mission #01 - Syrian Desert 野戦陣地強襲作戦 "Field Operations: Assault" Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Armor Upgrade N2: 100mm Machine Gun N3: Heat Hawk H1: 100mm Machine Gun H2: Heat Hawk H3: GM Command Shield Briefing: Federation forces are on patrol in the area. We intend to seize their supplies for ourselves. Attack! Strategy: Should be incredibly easy for you by now. Zeon's missions are a little bit tougher than the EFSF missions, but you should be experienced enough that they shouldn't be too hard. Story Mission #12 - Syrian Desert "Aden Spaceport Express" アデン基地急行作戦 Type: Reach the Departure Area N1: Spare Magazine x2 N2: Armor Upgrade +3 N3: EN Pack x2 H1: Spare Magazine x2 H2: Armor Upgrade +3 H3: EN Pack x2 Briefing: Break through the Federation forces guarding the road into Aden spaceport. Strategy: Kill what you can, but move quickly. Remember to set your team into formation so no one gets left behind. (If any mobile suit in your team fails to get to the designated area before the timer expires, you fail the mission). Optional Mission #1 - Syrian Desert "Syrian Desert Mop-Up Duty" Type: Destroy all Enemies シリア砂漠掃討任務 N1: Melee Upgrade N2: 105mm Zaku Machine Gun N3: AP Recovery Unit H1: Melee Upgrade H2: 105mm Zaku Machine Gun H3: AP Recovery Unit Briefing: Federation troops are moving through the Desert. Seek them out and destroy them. Strategy: Another pretty straightforward 'kill 'em all' mission. Story Mission #2 - Khyber Pass "Pincer Movement" 挟撃作戦 Type: Destroy the Enemy Defend Friendly Mobile Suits N1: 120mm Zaku Machine Gun N2: RGM-79D Shield N3: Spare Magazine H1: 120mm Zaku Machine Gun H2: RGM-79D Shield H3: Beam Saber [G] Briefing: The assault on Odessa has begun. Federation troops are moving through the pass to join in Odessa's defense--eliminate them. Strategy: Be very careful with this one, you'll be fighting a lot of enemies. Optional Mission #2 - Khyber Pass "Canyon Assault" 峡谷地帯襲撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Generator Upgrade +1 N2: Ranged Upgrade N3: EN Pack H1: Generator +1 H2: Ranged Upgrade H3: Battle Shield II Briefing: Federation troops are moving through the Canyon. This is an excellent opportunity to deal some damage to the enemy. Strategy: Very, very simple. You don't need any help with this, right? Story Mission #3 - Odessa "The Efreet's Resurrection" イフリート・ナハト奪還作戦 Type: Reach the Efreet Hangar N1: Propellant Tank +1 N2: Undersea Warfare Module N3: Beam Gun H1: Propellant Tank +1 H2: Undersea Warfare Module H3: Propellant Tank +2 Briefing: The Federation currently possess and advanced model mobile suit, built by Zeon shortly before the end of the war: the NTX-8/TN Efreet Nacht. Storm the base, capture the Efreet. Strategy: Take out the Guntanks first, ignore the tanks 'till all of the mobile suits are dead. Then: enjoy your shiny new Efreet. Optional Mission #3 - Odessa "Odessa Diversionary Operations" Type: Destroy all Enemies オデッサ陽動任務 N1: Generator Upgrade N2: Prototype Gouf Shield N3: Low Power Heat Hawk H1: Low Output Heat Hawk H2: Generator Upgrade H3: Generator Upgrade +2 Briefing: Attack the Federation troops at Odessa Strategy: Run around, kill stuff. No pressure. Story Mission #4 - Belfast Port "Withdrawal Support Operations" 撤退支援作戦 Type: Defend Allied Units N1: Missile Launcher N2: Ranged Upgrade +1 N3: Melee Upgrade +2 H1: Missile Launcher H2: Ranged Upgrade +1 H3: Melee Upgrade +2 Briefing: Our advanced forces have succeeded in stealing supplies from the Federation depot. Attack the port to cover our retreating forces. Strategy: So easy, easy. So very, very easy. Optional Mission #4 - Belfast Port "Industrial Assault Mission" 工業地帯襲撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Spiked Shield N2: Apogee Motor N3: Beam Gun H1: Spiked Shield H2: Apogee Motor H3: Mass-Produced Beam Rifle Briefing: Federation troops are nearby. Attack them. Strategy: Kill stuff. Don't not kill stuff. That's wrong. Story Mission #5 - Atlantic Ocean "Recover the Supplies" 物資回収作戦 Type: Recover the Containers N1: Apogee Motor +1 N2: Capacity Upgrade +1 N3: Capacity Upgrade +1 H1: Apogee Motor +1 H2: Capacity Upgrade +1 H3: Capacity Upgrade +1 Briefing: The Federation has seized control of several of hour supply containers hidden on the ocean floor. Strategy: Don't worry about killing the enemy mobile suits. As soon as you get close to one of the supply containers, you'll automatically 途 ecover- it. Just get in and out of each supply point as quickly as you can. Optional Mission #5 - Atlantic Ocean "Underwater Mop-Up" 連邦軍水中部隊掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Propellant Tank N2: Beam Knife N3: Radar Upgrade H1: Propellant Tank H2: Capacity Upgrade +1 H3: Radar Upgrade Briefing: Federation mobile suits have been detected Underwater. Destroy them. Strategy: Nothing in particular. Story Mission #6 - Jungle "Jungle Break-Through" 強行突破作戦 Type: Break the Siege N1: Magella Top Cannon N2: Radar Upgrade N3: Sniper Scope 3.0 H1: Magella Top Cannon H2: Radar Upgrade H3: Prototype Gouf Shield Briefing: Our secret military base in Indochina has been discovered by the Earth Federation. Sweeper teams are pushing through the Jungle Break through the enemy formations and escape! Strategy: This mission is one giant pain. The Guntanks and Guncannons will constantly bombard you from extremely long-range. Remember to find the best cover you can when kneeling, and take out the enemies as fast as you can. Try to prioritize the Guntanks. Optional Mission #6 - Jungle "Jungle Area Attack" 密林地帯襲撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Melee Upgrade N2: EN Pack N3: Ground Warfare Module H1: Melee Upgrade H2: EN Pack H3: Zaku»Zaku Sniper Upgrade Briefing: Federation troops have been spotted in the Jungle. Destroy them. Strategy: Nothing in particular. Story Mission #7 - Indochina "Jungle Base Defense Operations" Type: Defend Allied Units 密林基地防衛作戦 N1: Generator Upgrade +2 N2: MMP-80 Machine Gun N3: MMP-80 Machine Gun H1: Generator Upgrade +2 H2: Heat Sword+ H3: Heat Sword+ Briefing: Our jungle base is currently besieged by Federation forces. We have no time to lose, we must rally together all of our forces and launch an all-out attack against the federation. Strategy: Despite the desperation of the plot, this mission is yet another painfully simple kill-everything mission. These are incredibly fun to play co-op, but the single player version gets old fast. Optional Mission #7 - Indochina "Intercept in the Jungle" 密林基地迎撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Ranged Upgrade N2: Apogee Motor +2 N3: Armor Upgrade +1 H1: Armor Upgrade +1 H2: Ranged Upgrade H3: Dom»Dom Cannon II Upgrade Briefing: Federation mobile suits are approaching our Jungle base. Attack them. Strategy: Kill stuff. Kill it good. Story Mission #8 - Ural Mountains "Destroy the Radar Station" レーダー基地破壊作戦 Type: Destroy the Radar N1: Melee Upgrade +2 N2: Gatling Shield N3: Propellant Tank +2 H1: Gatling Shield H2: Propellant Tank +2 H2: Melee Upgrade +2 Briefing: Operation Tears of Varuna- is nearly ready. In preparation, we've begun large-scale diversionary operations throughout the planet. The Invisible Knights are tasked with the destruction of a key Radar station in the Ural Mountains. Rise to the summit and destroy the radar. Strategy: Don't even think about fighting. Simply boost up the mountain and cut up the radar dishes. You should be able to finish the mission inside of a minute or two. Optional Mission #8 - Ural Mountains "Mountain Radar Diversion" Type: Destroy all Enemies 山岳レーダー施設陽動任務 N1: Propellant Tank +1 N2: Radar Upgrade +2 N3: Zaku I»Zaku Sniper Upgrade H1: Propellant Tank +1 H2: Armor Upgrade +4 H3: Radar Upgrade +2 Briefing: Federation forces are in the area. Destroy them. Strategy: Nothing special here. Story Mission #9 - New Yark "Feint" 陽動作戦 Type: Distract EFSF Troops N1: Generator Upgrade +3 N2: Giant Bazooka N3: Apogee Motor +3 H1: Giant Bazooka H2: Apogee Motor +3 H3: Propellant Tank +3 Briefing: Diversionary operations in preparation for Operation Varuna are still underway. Before we launch our attack on the Augusta labs, we will attempt to lure Federation Forces to New Yark. You are to attack New Yark in an attempt to divert Federation attention away from Augusta. Strategy: You don't have much time to get from one area to the next, so stay focused. Don't worry about attacking the enemy mobile suits until your safely within your objective area. This mission can be a bit timeconsuming, but it's not at-all difficult. Optional Mission #9 - New Yark "New Yark Assault" ニューヤーク襲撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Apogee Motor N2: Ranged Upgrade +2 N3: Ground Warfare Module H1: Apogee Motor H2: Gelgoog Shield III H3: Ground Warfare Module Briefing: Federation troops stationed in New Yark pose a threat to our future operations in the area. Annihilate them. Strategy: A very, very simple mission. Have fun with it. Story Mission #10 - Bahamas "Overwhelm the Communications Facilities" Type: Secure the Comm Towers 通信施設制圧作戦 N1: Ranged Upgrade +1 N2: Sniper Scope 4.0 N3: EN Pack H1: Ranged Upgrade +1 H2: Sniper Scope 4.0 H3: EN Pack Briefing: We are nearly ready to begin operation Tears of Varuna. Essential to our strategy is the elimination of the Earth Federation's communications network in the Bahamas. Capture the comm stations and defeat the Federation forces guarding them. Strategy: I found this mission to be easiest either a Z'Gok or Zaku Sniper. With either, you can climb up high on one of the southern islands and snipe many of the enemy mobile suits and fixed turrets while keeping well out of range. Optional Mission #10 - Bahamas "Island Attack" バハマ諸島襲撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Armor Upgrade N2: Melee Upgrade +2 N3: Undersea Warfare Module H1: Armor Upgrade H2: Melee Upgrade +2 H3: Undersea Warfare Module Briefing: Federation forces are in the area. Destroy them. Strategy: Again, very simple. You really shouldn't have the least bit of trouble with a mission this simple. Story Mission #11 - Augusta Lab "Operation Varuna's Tears" 水天の涙作戦 Type: Destroy the Air Defense Network N1: Raketen Bazooka N2: Dom»Dom Cannon II Upgrade H1: Raketen Bazooka H2: Dom»Dom Cannon II Upgrade Briefing: To ensure that Operation Varuna's Tears is effective, we must eliminate the air-defenses at Augusta to prevent the Federation from defending against the Lunar Mass Driver. Assault the complex and destroy the aerial defense network. Strategy: Don't worry about taking out the defense towers—your allies will be able to manage that all by their own. Focus on eliminating all of the other mobile suits in the area so that when the Phantom Sweepers arrive (once the defenses are take down) you won't bee surrounded by enemies. Optional Mission #11 - Augusta Lab "Augusta Diversionary Mission" オーガスタ陽動任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Generator Upgrade +1 N2: Space Warfare Module N3: Apogee Motor +1 H1: Generator Upgrade +1 H2: Apogee Motor +1 H3: Gelgoog»Gelgoog Cannon Upgrade Briefing: Federation troops have been found in Augusta. Seek them out and destroy them all. Strategy: Very simple, so... once more... nothing in particular. Story Mission #13 - Aden Spaceport "HLV Launch Preparations" Type: Defend the HLVs HLV 発射作戦 N1: Propellant Tank +3 N2: Space Warfare Module N3: Capacity Upgrade +1 H1: Propellant Tank +3 H2: Space Warfare Module H3: Capacity Upgrade +1 Briefing: Operation Tears of Varuna is still underway. We have seized control of several HLVs so that we may move our forces into space to complete the final phase of the plan. Defend the HLVs until we are ready to launch. Strategy: Make your way to the end of the map as quickly as you can. Enemies will be spawning out of the tunnel, so if you stay right there, you can cut down each enemy mobile suit right as it enters. Makes this mission a piece of cake. When the Phantom Sweepers arrive, you should be able to take them out handily. Annihilate the enemies in the area to secure a supply route for our Musai-class warship. Strategy: Very, very easy. You'll be in a spiffy, shiny new Gelgoog. Honestly, the Gelgoog makes everything almost TOO easy. Optional Mission #13 - Moon (Hills) "Lunar Mop-Up Duty" 月面掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Apogee Motor +1 N2: Kampfer Beam Saber N3: Propellant Tank +4 H1: Melee Upgrade +4 H2: Propellant Tank +4 H3: Apogee Motor +1 Briefing: Federation troops have been discovered on the moon. Hunt them down. Strategy: Nothing in particular. Story Mission #15 - Moon (Mountains) "Break Through the Federation Defenses" Type: Destroy all Enemies 連邦防衛網突破作戦 N1: Apogee Motor +3 N2: AP Recovery Unit +1 N3: Space Warfare Module H1: Apogee Motor +3 H2: AP Recovery Unit +1 H3: Space Warfare Module Briefing: The Musai's diversion has already begun 謡 e are to launch our attack to capture the Mass Driver immediately. Advance through the defending forces! Strategy: All of your AI teammates need to get to the target area once you've taken out all of the mobile suits. More enemies will ambush you as you try to escape. Now, the AI sucks, so you''ll have to take out each enemy in your path as quickly as you can so your team doesn't get distracted flying in circles and shooting rocks. Remember to command them into a V or A formation so they stick close, otherwise you'll fail the mission and have to start all over. Optional Mission #14 - Moon (Mountains) "Mount Gassan Attacked" 月山岳地帯襲撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Ranged Upgrade +1 N2: Gelgoog (SM) Shield N3: Apogee Motor +5 H1: Gundarium Armor H2: Ranged Upgrade +1 H3: Apogee Motor +5 Briefing: Launch a preemptive attack against Federation forces in the area. Story Mission #16 - Mass Driver "Overwhelm the Defenses" マスドライバー制圧作戦 Type: Destroy the Defenses N1: Capacity Upgrade N2: Propellant Tank +3 N3: AP Recovery Unit +1 H1: Capacity Upgrade H2: Propellant Tank +3 H3: AP Recovery Unit +1 Briefing: The final phase of operation Varuna's Tears is finally underway. Now is the time to break through the Federation's defenses and seize control of the Mass Driver. Strategy: Be very, very careful. For the most part, this should play exactly like the mission of the Federation end. Take out the mobile suits, and once the next phase of the mission starts, focus on the fixed emplacements first, then move on to the mobile suits. Story Mission #17 - Mass Driver "Varuna's Tears" 第二次・水天の涙作戦 Type: Complete the Operation N1: Generator Upgrade +5 N2: Capacity Upgrade +2 N3: Apogee Motor +4 H1: Generator Upgrade +5 H2: Capacity Upgrade +2 H3: Apogee Motor +4 Briefing: We have taken control of the Mass Driver. Now, we must defend the station until we are able to activate the Mass Driver. Fend off the attacking Federation mobile suits and complete the operation. Strategy: If you run off to attack the mobile suits in the first phase, no no matter how you go about it, odds are you won't do too well. Hold off. Let your allies and the base defenses grind down the enemy forces. If you're lucky, you won't have to do a thing. At the very least, you shouldn't bother fighting 'till you can either lure the enemy suits into one-on-one confrontations or the enemies have critical (red) AP levels. When you have your duel with Courand Hughes, focus on ranged combat. The base defenses will help you out, and the Gundam's melee attacks are considerably slower than your Gelgoog Customs. Once you take the Gundam out, enjoy your well-earned, if bittersweet, victory. Optional Mission #15 - Mass Driver "Mass Driver Intercept" マスドライバー迎撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies N1: Armor Upgrade +2 N2: Capacity Upgrade N3: Ranged Upgrade +5 H1: Ranged Upgrade +5 H2: High Power Generator H3: Armored Gundarium Briefing: Federation troops are approaching the occupied mass driver station. You are to sortie immediately and destroy them. Strategy: Nothing in particular. Free Missions 4-0 While the story-based campaign missions are quite entertaining, Gundam Senki doesn't really come together as something spectacular until you start tackling the free missions. Each faction has access to two missions for each area in the game, and plays unlocks new missions by clearing old ones. So, basically, it's the same set-up as story mode only without the story. The difference? You can play online, and access a new difficulty mode—HELL. You can play through the Free Missions all by your lonesome (but, if so, only on normal difficulty) or cooperatively online, with up to three friends. Once you've cleared both the EFSF and Zeon single player campaigns, you'll be able to play as the "Mercenary" faction in free-mission mode. Mercenaries have access to all of the store-items and missions from both factions, but at the same time need to pay twice as much for any part, weapon or mobile suit. Want to load a Zeke suit up with Feddie weapons? Or vis versa? Merc is the way to go. EFSF Free Missions 4-1 Remember, Mercenariy players will have access to both EFSF and Zeon missions, which will appear on the screen in the following order: EFSF Mission #1 Zeon Mission #1 (DLC) EFSF Mission #3 EFSF Mission #2 Zeon Mission #2 (DLC) Zeon Mission #3 If you still have trouble ascertaining which mission is which, compare the Japanese mission titles included in the mission descriptions and compare it with what you see on the screen. EFSF: Libyan Desert Mission #1 リビア砂漠掃討任務 Libyan Desert Cleanup Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Spare Magazine x1 2: GM Beam Saber 3: Armor Upgrade 4: Ground Warfare Module 5: Sniper Scope x5.0 Strategy: Run around and kill stuff. It doesn't get any easier than this. EFSF: Libyan Desert Mission #2 Pursuing the Remnants of Zeon ジオン残党を追撃せよ Type: Chase the Fleeing Enemies 1: 1 Low Output Beam Saber 2: GM»GM Desert Type Upgrade 3: Ranged Upgrade 4: GM Command Shield (PS) 5: Capacity Upgrade Strategy: You don't have to take out all of the enemies, but failing to do so will earn you an unkind point-penalty. EFSF: Syrian Desert Mission #1 Desert Patrol シリア砂漠巡視任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Bullpup Machine Gun 2: AP Recovery Unit 3: Melee Upgrade 4: Magella Top Cannon 5: Spare Magazine x2: Strategy: Nothing in particular. EFSF: Syrian Desert Mission #2 Defend the Transports 輸送部隊を守れ Type: Defend the Transports 1: Propellant Tank +1: 2: GM»GM Cannon Upgrade 3: Apogee Motor 4: GM Cannon»GM Cannon (RW) Upgrade 5: AP Recovery Unit +1: Strategy: Stay focused on the mission and you shouldn't run into any problems. EFSF: Khyber Pass Mission #1 Canyon Cleanup 峡谷地帯掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: 1: EN Pack x1: 2: Generator Upgrade +1: 3: Ranged Upgrade 4: Spiked Shield II 5: GM Command Beam Saber III Strategy: Watch out for enemies on the tops of the canyon wall. If you end up taking too much fire, head down into the ravine. The enemies should follow after you, and be much easier to take out. EFSF: Khyber Pass Mission #2 Valley Blitz 峡谷の電撃戦 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Apogee Motor +1: 2: Beam Spray Gun 3: Melee Upgrade 4: Capacity Upgrade 5: Gundam Beam Saber Strategy: This mission can be a bit difficult, if only by the sheer quantity of enemies you'll be facing. You'll want to pick a suit that can take out an enemy mobile suit in only a couple of hits, because you'll be facing numerous foes at the same time. Extra ammo is also a necessity the mission is timed, so you don't really want to keep running back and forth from the supply depot. EFSF: Odessa Mission #1 Interception オデッサ迎撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: GM Command Shield+ 2: Beam Saber [G] 3: Generator Upgrade 4: Generator Upgrade +2: 5: EN Pack x2: Strategy: A very simple missio. It can be a good one to use to farm points when you're first starting out. EFSF: Odessa Mission #2 Double Defense 両面防衛任務 Type: Defend the Area 1: Ranged Upgrade +1: 2: GM Shield 3: Armor Upgrade 4: Guncannon»Guncannon (SML) 5: GM Beam Saber III Strategy: You'll see a white, rectangular box on the map—that's the area you have to defend. If any enemy mobile suits enter that area, you will lose the mission. Zoom out your radar, and try to take out enemy units as quickly as you can. Be wary of fast-moving aircraft, they can easily trespass into the defense field if you're not careful. EFSF: Belfast Port Mission #1 Industrial Patrol Duty 防衛ラインを死守せよ Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: GM Beam Saber II 2: GM Shield II 3: Apogee Motor 4: GM [G]»GM Sniper Upgrade 5: GM Sniper Shield+ Strategy: This mission can be a real pain the butt, even if you're playing online with other people. My only real advice here is to be as mobile as you can so the Hygoggs don't utterly destroy you and, no matter what, stay out of the water. EFSF: Belfast Port Mission #2 Line of Defense 工業地帯巡視任務 Type: Defend the Area 1: RX-81:»RX-81:ST Upgrade 2: Battle Shield 3: Propellant Tank 4: RX-81:»RX-81:LA Upgrade 5: GM Sniper Shield+ Strategy: Similar to the above mission, only this time you'll have to be keeping the enemies out of the area to the North. It's a lot easier than you'd think, but it can still be challenging. One thing to keep in mind is that some groups of enemies will not move until you get close to them, so keep your map zoomed out. If you see a stationary group, avoid it. Also keep in mind that enemies will be spawning from ALL over the map, so be prepared to rush back toward the northern defense area quickly. As long as you're able to move about the map quickly and take out the enemies with similar alacrity, you should be okay. EFSF: Atlantic Ocean Mission #1 Amphibious Attack 水陸両用 MS 攻撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Beam Knife 2: Radar Upgrade 3: Propellant Tank 4: Propellant Tank +4: 5: Spare Magazine x3: Strategy: Be very, very careful. Take it slow, and steady. Be careful to never let your generator overheat, and if you absolutely cannot advance without taking enemy fire, remember to advance with your guard up (at an oblique angle). This mission can be quite difficult if you don't go into it expecting a long fight. EFSF: Atlantic Mission #2 Enemies Lurking in the Deep 深海に潜む敵を叩け Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Undersea Warfare Module 2: Propellant Tank +1: 3: Apogee Motor 4: Melee Upgrade +3: 5: Low Output Beam Saber+ Strategy: Pretty much the same as before. So long as you're calm and don't get too hasty, this mission shouldn't pose any problems. EFSF: Jungle Mission #1 Jungle Mop-Up 密林地帯掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Ground Warfare Module 2: EN Pack x1: 3: Melee Upgrade 4: GM»Gundam [G] GM Head 5: Beam Saber [G] III Strategy: Kill everything. You really shouldn't have even the slightest bit of trouble here. EFSF: Jungle Mission #2 Seek the Enemy Snipers 潜む敵を狙い撃て Type: Defend the Area 1: Propellant Tank +2: 2: Spare Magazine x1: 3: Ranged Upgrade 4: Battle Shield III 5: Beam Saber [G] III Strategy: Speed and Boost are your friend. You'll also want a decent ranged weapon so you can take out the enemy mobile suits as soon as possible. EFSF: Northern Indochina Mission #1 Jungle Cleanup 密林基地掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Apogee Motor +2: 2: Armor Upgrade +1: 3: Ranged Upgrade 4: Gundam [G]»Gundam Ez8 5: Sniper Rifle++ Strategy: Kill everything. Have some fun. No heavy-thinking required! EFSF: Northern Indochina Mission #2 Jungle Base Attack 密林基地攻撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Melee Upgrade +2: 2: Beam Saber [G] 3: Generator Upgrade 4: Guncannon»Heavy Guncannon Upgrade 5: Gundam Shield+ Strategy: Your immediate concern is to take care of all the turrets shooting giant beams of death at you. Once those are taken care of, it's a simple manner of rooting out all of the enemy mobile suits lurking about the darkness. EFSF: Ural Mountains Mission #1 Mountain Radar Interception 山岳レーダー迎撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Radar Upgrade +2: 2: GM [G]»GM Sniper Upgrade 3: Propellant Tank +1: 4: Armor Upgrade +4: 5: Beam Rifle Strategy: This mission is really easy, but really irritating. Watch out for the attacking aircraft (you aren't required to destroy them, however) and pay attention to where you are on the map. The most difficult part of this mission is staying within the boundaries of such a small area. EFSF: Ural Mountains Mission #2 Rush to the Summit Type: Defend the Area 山頂に急行せよ 1: Gundam Beam Saber II 2: Gundam [G]»Gundam Ez-8 Upgrade 3: Apogee Motor 4: GM Sniper II»GM Sniper II (RW) Upgrade 5: Capacity Upgrade +2 Strategy: Your defense target in this mission is the Radar station. Most of the enemies will be coming at you directly, but a few will be attacking from the opposite corner of the map. EFSF: Bahamas Mission #1 Maritime Radar Interception 海上レーダー迎撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Melee Upgrade +2: 2: Undersea Warfare Module 3: Armor Upgrade 4: Capacity Upgrade +1: 5: EN Pack x3 Strategy: You'll probably want to be using an amphibious mobile suit for these missions. You'll be able to move around the map much faster, which will make this mission a LOT easier. EFSF: Bahamas Mission #2 Radar Defense レーダー施設防衛任務 Type: Defend the Area 1: Generator Upgrade +2: 2: Beam Gun 3: Armor Upgrade 4: MP Guncannon»MP Guncannon (RW) Upgrade 5: Gundam Shield Strategy: Aquatic mobile suit will give you the speed you need, so you won't have too much difficulty with this. EFSF: Old New Yark Mission #1 Mop-Up Duty ニューヤーク掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Ranged Upgrade +2: 2: Ground Warfare Module 3: Apogee Motor 4: RX-81: Shield 5: RX-81: Beam Saber Strategy: A very simple mission. Watch out for those nasty beam-spray guns the GMs carry. They're really annoying, but not that difficult. EFSF: Old New Yark Mission #2 Enemy Interception 迫る敵を迎撃せよ Type: Intercept the Enemy 1: Radar Upgrade +1: 2: Bullpup Machine Gun 3: Melee Upgrade 4: GM»Gold GM Upgrade 5: Short Beam Rifle Strategy: You won't have access to any supply points for this mission, so load out your mobile suit accordingly. EFSF: Augusta Lab Mission #1 Augusta Interception オーガスタ迎撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: RX-81:ST»RX-81:ST Missile Upgrade 2: Ranged Upgrade +4: 3: Generator Upgrade +1: 4: RX-81:LA»RX-81:LA Gatling Upgrade 5: Heavy Beam Rifle Strategy: You'll be facing a lot of enemies here, so the better the mobile suit and the larger your team, the better. This mission, and most of the missions that follow, will be very difficult if you're not playing with other people online. EFSF: Augusta Lab Mission #2 Augusta Base Defense オーガスタ基地防衛任務 Type: Defend the Area 1: RX-81:ST»RX-81:ST Gatling Upgrade 2: Space Warfare Module 3: Melee Upgrade +1: 4: RX-81:LA»RX-81:LA Missile Upgrade 5: Beam Rifle+ Strategy: Keep on your toes. Enemies will be coming from all directions, and almost all of them have some tough artillery weapons. In particular, be sure to take out the Xamels as soon as you possibly can. EFSF: Aden Base Spaceport Mission #1 Interception HLV 防衛任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Apogee Motor +4: 2: Propellant Tank +4: 3: Melee Upgrade +1: 4: GM Rifle 5: New Beam Rifle Strategy: Another pretty easy mission. Just don't try it solo. EFSF: Aden Base Spaceport Mission #2 HLV Defense アデン迎撃任務 Type: Defend the HLV 1: Generator Upgrade +5: 2: GM Command»GM Command (Space Type) Upgrade 3: Propellant Tank +1: 4: Prototype Gundam»Gundam Upgrade 5: Beam Saber Strategy: Same as the other defense missions. Keep cool, and it'll be over before you know it. The most annoying thing to deal with here is the fact that you're confined in a very, very small area. It's a very annoying mission, but not a difficult one. Have fun farming it for the Gundam upgrade parts! EFSF: Moon (Hills) Mission #1 Patrol Mission 月面巡視任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: GM Quel Beam Saber 2: Gundam Beam Saber III 3: Apogee Motor +1: 4: Melee Upgrade +4: 5: NT-1: Shield Strategy: Nothing in particular. The Gundam Beam Saber III fetches a tidy profit, so if you're pinched for cash, this mission provides an easy way to get some. EFSF: Moon (Hills) Mission #2 Case Study Large Heat Reactions 巨大な熱源反応を調査せよ Type: Destroy the Big Zams 1: Large Generator 2: Generator Upgrade +4: 3: Generator Upgrade +1: 4: Gundam»G3: Gundam Upgrade 5: NT-1: Beam Saber Strategy: This mission is a lot of fun there are three Big Zams to take down, and a whole lot of zeke mobile suits, too. You'll want to take out the mobile suits first to protect your supply points. Remember Big Zams have I-Fields, so beam weaponry is useless. You'll have to use either bazookas, machine guns or melee weapons. Machine guns are easiest, in my opinion--and don't forget to pack some spare magazines! For added fun, try getting together with some friends to take out the Big Zams on Hell difficulty with Acguys. Trust me, it's a helluva lot of fun. EFSF: Moon (Mountains) Mission #1 Mount Gassan Mop-Up Duty 月山岳地帯掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Gundam Shield II 2: Apogee Motor +5: 3: Ranged Upgrade +1: 4: Armored Gundarium 5: New Beam Rifle+ Strategy: Nothing special to do here just keep in mind, while preparing for this mission, that you won't have any opportunity to resupply. EFSF: Moon (Mountains) Mission #2 Zeon's Elite Troops ジオン精鋭部隊を叩け Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: GM Quel Shield 2: Propellant Tank +5: 3: Armor Upgrade +1: 4: Gundam»FA Gundam Upgrade 5: Double Beam Rifle Strategy: As soon as the mission starts, you'll find yourself surrounded by a large group of gelgoogs. You'll need to be an agile suit. The mission area is small, but will keep expanding as you destroy enemies. When the supply point appears, you'll want to pay close attention to it odds are you're going to have to resupply at least once (unless you're in a full group AND have extra ammo) so make sure to prioritize any enemies that get too close. EFSF: Mass Driver Mission #1 Mass Driver Patrol マスドライバー偵察任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Capacity Upgrade 2: Ranged Upgrade +5: 3: High-Power Generator 4: Armored Gundarium 5: Hyper Bazooka+ Strategy: There are two supply points here, but you're best off only trying to protect one of them. Keep your supply point defended, and try to take out the giant beam cannons mounted at either end of the map as soon as possible to make the clean-up a bit easier. EFSF: Mass Driver Mission #2 Regain Control of the Mass Driver マスドライバーを奪還せよ Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Magnetic Coating 2: Melee Upgrade +5: 3: Ranged Upgrade +1: 4: GM Custom»GM Quel Upgrade 5: NT-1: Beam Rifle Strategy: Take out all of the fixed weaponry first, then secure your supply point. So long as you're able to resupply/heal, you'll be able to manage. If you lose the supply point, the strategy is simple: don't get hit. By anything. Zeon Free Missions 4-2 Remember, Mercenariy players will have access to both EFSF and Zeon missions, which will appear on the screen in the following order: EFSF Mission #1 Zeon Mission #1 (DLC) EFSF Mission #3 EFSF Mission #2 Zeon Mission #2 (DLC) Zeon Mission #3 If you still have trouble ascertaining which mission is which, compare the Japanese mission titles included in the mission descriptions and compare it with what you see on the screen. Zeon: Syrian Desert Mission #1 Desert Cleanup シリア砂漠掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: 105mm Zaku Machine Gun+ 2: AP Recovery Unit 3: Melee Upgrade 4: 105mm Zaku Machine Gun 5: Sniper Scope x5.0 Strategy: The first mission you have access to, this one is fairly straight- forward. The enemies you'll be fighting may be numerous, but they're not very aggressive so you should be able to handle it pretty easily. The 105mm machine guns your Zakus start out with are pretty weak, so you will want to buy the upgraded 105mm machine guns quickly, and then arm it—this mission until you're able to buy the much, much better 120mm Machine Gun. This will make the next few missions much, much less painful for you. (some pain is to be expected, of course, Zeon is for masochists!) Zeon: Syrian Desert Mission #2 Destroy the Sensitive Data 機密ディスクを破壊せよ Type: Destroy the escaping Samson Trailers 1: Propellant Tank +1: 2: Zaku II»Zaku Cannon Upgrade 3: Apogee Motor 4: Zaku I»Zaku I (RR) Upgrade 5: AP Recovery Unit Strategy: There are four Samson trucks in this area, all of which will leave the area very quickly. The mission will end in success once all four of the trucks are either destroyed or escaped. The number of trucks you take out determines how many bonus points you can earn, which means this can be a valuable mission for point-farming early on. Unfortunately, in single-player, it's very hard to get more than two trucks before the others escape. You're best bet is to tackle this game online, with at least one other player, with the both of you going off in different directions as soon as you can. Ignore all of the other enemies and focus on the trucks, but beware of the GMs in in the Southern corner of the map, they have some very powerful long range weaponry that will take you out if you're not careful. It's a good idea to use the canyons for cover while making your way across the map. Zeon: Libyan Desert Mission #1 Desert Assault リビア砂漠襲撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Spare Magazine x1: 2: Heat Hawk 3: Armor Upgrade 4: Ground Warfare Module 5: Rocket Launcher Strategy: No resupply for this mission, so you'll want to outfit your mobile suit with a good melee weapon and use your ammo very, very sparingly. Try to keep your AP at 1:00%, and as much ammo as you can while dealing with the GMs. When the GM Cannons come marching in, you'll want to be at full strength. Zeon: Libyan Desert Mission #2 Operation Desert Sunrise 砂漠の奇襲作戦 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Low Output Heat Hawk 2: Zaku II»Zaku II Desert Type Upgrade 3: Ranged Upgrade 4: Zaku I»Zaku I (BTS) Upgrade 5: Capacity Upgrade Strategy: Kill stuff, and then kill more stuff. Mission ends when there's nothing left to kill. Zeon: Khyber Pass Mission #1 Attack the Canyon 峡谷地帯襲撃任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: EN Pack x1: 2: Generator Upgrade +1: 3: Ranged Upgrade 4: Battle Shield II 5: EN Pack x2: Strategy: This mission can be a daunting at first. You'll be facing a huge quantity of GMs and they'll all be gunning for you much more aggressively than in the last mission. Particularly annoying are the GMs armed with bazookas, they are very accurate, very fast- moving, and do a lot of damage. To make matters worse, several of these bazooka-wielding GMs will perch up high on the canyon walls, where it's hard to counterattack. The wall near where you start is easy enough to get to simply boost straight up. At the opposite end of the map where most of the fighting will be going down, however, you cannot boost all the way up to the top of the walls by yourself, fret not, there is a way up. In the center of the canyon there is a stepped hill, or plateau, with several levels that you can jump on to. Boost all the way to the top of this central mesa, and you'll see bridges leading to both the East and West sides of the canyon, granting you easy access to those Cowardly GMs sniping you from afar. Zeon: Khyber Pass Mission #2 Pincer on the Fleeing Troops 逃走部隊を挟撃せよ Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Apogee Motor +1: 2: Generator +1: 3: Melee Upgrade 4: Zaku II»Zaku II (CA) Upgrade 5: Heat Hawk III Strategy: This is one of those long, tedious missions where you have to kill a lot of enemies, but they trickle into the map in small groups. So be prepared to spend some time here--and make sure you're packing some extra ammo, there are a lot of 'em to take down. Zeon: Odessa Mission #1 Odessa Feint オデッサ陽動任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Prototype Gouf Shield 2: Low Output Heat Hawk 3: Generator Upgrade 4: Generator Upgrade +2 5: Spare Magazine x2 Strategy: Another nice and simple attack-everything deal. Shouldn't be any trouble at this point. Zeon: Odessa Mission #2 Intercept the Reinforcements Type: Defend the Area 増援部隊を迎撃せよ 1: Ranged Upgrade +1: 2: GM Shield 3: Armor Upgrade 4: Zaku I»Zaku I (EB) Upgrade 5: Sniper Rifle Strategy: Welcome to the absolute worst mission in the entire game. You are stuck in a stupidly small area, barely enough room to turn around, and must shoot down all of the enemies coming at you. This mission is a pain in the ass, even with a solid team backing you up. Just make sure your radar stats are in good shape, and prepare yourself for some major pain, and bear with it. Zeon: Jungle Mission #1 Attack! 密林地帯掃討任務 Type: Destroy all Enemies 1: Ground Warfare Module 2: EN Pack x1: 3: Melee Upgrade +1: 4: Zaku I»Zaku Sniper Upgrade 5: Armor Upgrade +5: Strategy: Kill stuff. Parts and Weapons 5-0 Having trouble finding a specific item? Well, I hope this chart will help you out. I'll try to make it as simple and easy to follow as I possibly can. This list is 100% complete, so if you can't find what you're looking for... keep looking until you do! Don't forget the meaning behind each of the following abbreviations: CAP Capacity AP Armor Points GEN Generator MEL Melee Combat RNG Ranged Combat SPD Speed BST Boost RAD Radar EFSF Earth Federation MERC Mercenary Note: while perusing the tables in the following sub-sections, keep in mind that the prices listed for individual parts and weapons is the default price: MERC players must pay twice as much for every part, weapon or mobile suit. So if an item is listed as costing 4000 points, it will cost 4000 points for EFSF and Zeon players, but 8000 points for MERC players. Also: when you sell excess parts from your inventory, you will only get 50% of its price, new. Therefore be very careful not to sell off any items, suits or weapons that you may want later. Certain parts also require a particular rank, which is dependent on the amount of levels your pilot has gained. You gain levels by applying experience points to upgrade your pilot's stats. The ranks and their requirements are as follows: Warrant Officer Level 1 Ensign Level 20 Lieutenant Level 40 Captain Level 60 Major Level 80 Lieutenant Colonel Level 100 Colonel Level 120 Brigadier General Level 140 Major Level 160 Lieutenant General Level 180 General Level 200 Finally, you will notice small number (ex. --4-)- contained within parenthesis after the mission location for each individual item. This is the item's number. Each mission has five items, but you can only earn a selection of three items in a mission on any given difficulty. Normal difficulty yields items 1 to 3, hard yield 2 to 4, and hell yields 3-5. Normal Difficulty Hard Difficulty Hell Difficulty 1 > Chance to Obtain! < 2 > Chance to Obtain! < > Chance to Obtain! < 3 > Chance to Obtain! < > Chance to Obtain! < > Chance to Obtain! < > Chance to Obtain! < > Chance to Obtain! < 4 5 > Chance to Obtain! < The order is always constant, so when you complete a mission on HARD, for example, the items will be ordered 2, 3 and 4, in that order. If you did not receive the item 3, for example, the middle item on the list will have nothing (just a bunch of question marks). Remember the number of the item you want, and you'll be able to tell whether or not you earned it or not without having to dig through your whole inventory. Customization Parts 5-1 These charts should be fairly self-explanatory. I name the part, what it does, and where to find it. If there's a price, you can buy it in a store, if not, you'll have to get it from one of the free missions. If the free mission must be completed on a certain difficulty, I have noted it as such in parenthesis. If no parentheticals are present, that means clearing the mission on normal difficulty will suffice. Remember: You can only play free missions on Hard and Hell difficulties when online. The quantity is the number of those parts you will need before you can evolve the original suit and the availability, again, is where to find 'em. mobile suits. This guide is designed to help players determine how each mobile suit compares to the others, and to help them decide which mobile suit best fits his or her playing style. You obtain new mobile suits one of three ways: they are either given to you automatically, you purchase them with the points you earn after each successful mission, or you evolve them by equipping various parts and weapons on already owned mobile suits. It pays to tinker! The stats listed in this fact are only the basic, default stats. The game allows you to customize your machine with a variety of equipment and parts, which can allow you to drastically alter the performance of a mobile suit. Federation Mobile Suits 6-1 The Earth Federation developed mobile suits late into the One Year War by reverse-engineering Zeon's iconic Zaku I mobile suit. The resulting machine, the prototype RX-78-2, and it's mass-production line, the RGM series, retain the same basic internal structure of the first Zeonic mobile suit, but with far superior performance and weapon systems. Cheap and easy to produce in large quantities, the GM is the backbone of the EFSF mobile suit forces. It is supplemented in battle by various artillery-type suits (Guncannons and Guntanks) as well as powerful limited-production Gundam-type high-performance mobile suits. Essentially a scaled-down version of the original Gundam, the RGM-79 was the Federation's first mass produced mobile suit and served as the backbone of the Earth Federation military forces for the remainder of the war. The Federation continued to deploy the RGM-79 in combat operations for more than fifteen years, all the way up to the second Neo Zeon war. RGM-79Q GM Quel Designed after Operation Stardust specifically for the Earth Federation's newly-created Titans special-operations task force, the GM Quel was a high-performance variant of the standard RGM-79 mobile suit, designed to combat anything the Zeon remnant had, from old Zaku Is to newer Gelgoog Jagers and Gelgoog Marines. Designed specifically for combat in space and low-gravity environments, the GM Quel utilized a number of new technologies, including an improved skeletal frame that would eventually lead to the development of the movable frame incorporated in the RX-178 Gundam mark two. Armor Points: 3900 Generator: 480 Capacity: 75 Fixed Armaments: None Melee 300 Ranged 280 Speed 45 Boost 50 Radar 450 Notes: Very high-performance for a GM, with the right customization parts equipped the GM Quel can easily out-perform the more popular high-tier suits—Gundams, Kampfers, Gelgoogs and the like. RGM-79 Desert Type A variant of the RGM-79 introduced soon after the suit's first deployment, it is specially modified for desert combat. Modifications include special filters to prevent sand and dirt from interfering with the complex joints that allow the GM to move. Armor Points: 1200 Generator: 280 Capacity: 70 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 25 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 Grenades Damage: 420 Range: 150 Ammo: 6 Melee 130 Ranged 140 Speed 20 Boost 20 Radar 180 Notes: Again, not a whole lot of reason to pilot this GM unless you like the way it looks. RGM-79 Gold GM A special GM variant, painted entirely gold. This is not a genuine mobile suit design, but is rather a special trophy mobile suit created solely for this game. Armor Points: 1800 Generator: 400 Capacity: 100 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: ??? Range: ??? Ammo: ??? Grenades Damage: ??? Range: ??? Ammo: ??? -Melee 210 -Ranged 230 -Speed 45 -Boost 45 -Radar 250 Notes: Very eye-catching, but not much else. The high capacity makes this an easy suit to upgrade, so you can easily give it much, much better stats. It will draw a lot of attention to you, which can be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you behave. RGM-79D Cold Climate Type An advanced variant of the RGM-79 introduced toward the end of the One Year War, the RGM-79D was designed for speed and maneuverability in order to combat Zeon's new mainstay mobile suit, the MS-09 Dom. The RGM-79D Cold Climate Type was further modified to resist various harsh environmental conditions, most specifically those of the Arctic. Armor Points: 1600 Generator: 320 Capacity: 70 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 25 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 Grenades Damage: 420 Range: 150 Ammo: 6 Melee 170 Ranged 180 Speed 40 Boost 35 Radar 600 Notes: It just looks damned sexy, right? Sadly, it's not that much different than most of the other GM variants. RGM-79G GM Command A versatile, high-performance GM manufactured in small numbers and given to Mobile Suit Squadron leaders and Ace Pilots. The GM Command is significantly tougher than the standard GM models, and far more expensive. The GM Command was initially designed primarily for colony defense garrisons, but its high-performance made it a much sought-after asset on the front lines. Armor Points: 2000 Generator: 340 Capacity: 70 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 25 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 Grenades Damage: 420 Range: 150 Ammo: 6 Melee 250 Ranged 165 Speed 35 Boost 35 Radar 200 Notes: One of the better GM variants, but still nothing to write home about. RGM-79GS GM Command Space Type A variant of the GM Command, tweaked for superior performance in space combat. The RGM-79GS was very expensive and only a few of these high-performance mobile suits were ever built. Most were assigned to special-operations task forces in the latter days of the One Year War. Armor Points: 2200 Generator: 370 Capacity: 75 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 25 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 Grenades Damage: 420 Range: 150 Ammo: 6 Melee 250 Ranged 170 Speed 35 Boost 50 Radar 200 Notes: Better stats than the starting GM Command, but little else to speak of. RGM-79N GM Custom Introduced shortly after the One Year War, the GM Custom was a high performance mobile suit designed for a variety of combat roles. The GM Custom proved to be an exceptionally versatile machine that would serve alongside the GM's successors (GMII and GMIIIs) in both the Gryps War and the First Neo Zeon War. Armor Points: 3700 Generator: 450 Capacity: 75 Fixed Armaments: None -Melee 280 -Ranged 300 -Speed 50 -Boost 50 -Radar 450 Notes: Dare I call it the best GM out there? You're damned right I dare. The GM Custom is sexy, sleek, and has some very, very, very nice stats. Next to the RX-81LA, I'd probably call the GM Custom my personal favorite Federation mobile suit to use online. RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type A heavily re-tooled variant of the original GM design, the Ground Type GM was built specifically for ground combat. Armor Points: 2600 Generator: 390 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: None Melee 220 Ranged 180 Speed 15 Boost 20 Radar 300 Notes: What's there to say? Don't bother with the GM [G] if you want a high-end suit. There's really not much to look at. RGM-79[G] GM Sniper An early GM variant tooled toward long-range combat, the GM sniper has great offensive power, but its defensive abilities are somewhat lacking. Armor Points: 2600 Generator: 480 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: None Melee 120 Ranged 270 Speed 10 Boost 15 Radar 800 Notes: Perfect for long-range combat. The good radar and ranged stats leave a lot of slots left for ranged upgrades, and speed/boost upgrades. RGM-79SC GM Sniper Custom A variant of the Ground Type GM with a heavy emphasis on long-range sniping. Armor Points: 2500 Generator: 420 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: None Melee 200 Ranged 260 Speed 20 Boost 55 Radar 750 Notes: Love the high boost stat. Easily the best sniper in my opinion—it's fast and it's accurate. RGM-79SP GM Sniper II A further modification of the basic GM Sniper, the Sniper II put even more emphasis on long-range sniping at the expense of mobility. Armor Points: 3500 Generator: 450 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: None Melee 220 Ranged 300 Speed 25 Boost 35 Radar 800 Notes: Some pretty good base stats, but for me it's just too sluggish and the low capacity seriously hampers the potential of this suit. RGM-79SP GM Sniper II Rido Wolfe Custom Ace Pilot Rido Wolfe's customized GM Sniper. Armor Points: 3800 Generator: 450 Capacity: 70 Fixed Armaments: None Melee 230 Ranged 340 Speed 35 Boost 45 Radar 800 Notes: This is the GM Sniper to use. Its extra capacity is very nice, and the bolstered stats also come in quite handy. The lack of fixed weaponry means you're going to have to use your ranged weapons sparingly. RAG-79 Aquatic GM A heavily modified GM designed to operate Underwater, very few Aquatic GMs were Deployed due to the costs involved, and their limited combat application. Armor Points: 1800 Generator: 360 Capacity: 65 Fixed Armaments: Hand Anchor Damage: 160 Range: 250 Ammo: Melee 160 Ranged 170 Speed 30 Boost 30 Radar 350 Notes: You can really tell this mobile suit's design is several decades old. Most of the designs have aged rather well, especially the Zaku, but not this one. Personally, I think you're better off taking any other mobile suit and adding Undersea Warfare Modules to it than using the Aqua GM. RGC-80 GM Cannon An extension of the GM line, the GM cannon is based in part on the design of the RX-77 Guncannon. It is designed to be a medium-range support unit. Armor Points: 1200 Generator: 270 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 25 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 360mm Rockets Damage: 25 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 Melee 100 Ranged 185 Speed 10 Boost 20 Radar 500 Notes: Think a GM crossed with a Guncannon. It's rockets are nice to have, but I don't really think they make up for the poor stats. RGC-80 GM Cannon Rido Wolfe Custom Ace Pilot Rido Wolfe's customized GM Cannon. Armor Points: 1500 Generator: 320 Capacity: 70 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 25 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 360mm Rockets Damage: 25 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 Melee 120 Ranged 220 Speed 20 Boost 30 Radar 500 Notes: Slightly better stats here. This GM Cannon is a more viable option for combat, and offers enough weapon variety to make it a fun ride. RGC-83II GM Cannon II A medium and long-range support unit designed to handle basic artillery operations, the GM Cannon II is very well armed and armored. Armor Points: 4500 Generator: 520 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 30 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 Beam Cannon Damage: 600 Range:1000 Ammo: 36 Melee 200 Ranged 380 Speed 25 Boost 45 Radar 750 Notes: A GM Cannon with better stats, it's far more versatile than the GM Cannon I. The Beam Cannon is also very nice, so overall I would probably say this is a pretty good mobile suit to play with. RGM-79C Powered GM An experimental GM variant first tested early in UC 0083, the Powered GM was designed to be incredibly fast and mobile. Its design bears many similarities to the RX-178 Gundam mark 2. Armor Points: 4000 Generator: 600 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 30 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 Melee 320 Ranged 270 Speed 30 Boost 70 Radar 350 Notes: High-speed mass production units will always hold a special place in my heart. And to think, the Powered GM looks sexy to boot! The fact that it's got a two-year technological advantage over most of the other suits in the game truly help make the Powered GM a force to be reckoned with. RGM-79FP GM Striker One of the more specialized GM variants, the GM Striker is designed for melee combat, and it's very, very fast. Easily one of the most capable GM variants, fully able to take on Zeon's Gouf and Efreet mobile suits at close range. Armor Points: 3200 Generator: 420 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: Grenades Damage: 460 Range: 150 Ammo: 6 Melee 320 Ranged 150 Speed 30 Boost 65 Radar 200 Notes: A decent enough model, but the only thing you really want is the nice double-bladed Beam Spear. We melee-gods love spears. RX-75 Guntank One of the Federation's first prototype mobile suits, the Guncannon differs from both the RX-78 Gundam and RX-77 Guncannon designs in that its frame was not designed based off of captured Zeon Zakus. Essentially little more than a giant tank, the Guntank armor and firepower comparable to a mobile armor. Armor Points: 4000 Generator: 400 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: Missiles Damage: 60 Range: 450 Ammo: 560 120mm Cannons Damage: 360 Range:1200 Ammo: 48 Melee 90 Ranged 350 Speed 40 Boost 10 Radar 750 Notes: Big and slow, but packing a lot of firepower. You'll never want to pilot one of these yourself, but given how incredibly inept your AI teammates can be, you may want to give them Guntanks so they can be a bit more helpful. Be wary, although you take no damage, you're still vulnerable to the knock-down effects of allied artillery fire. RX-75MP Guntank Mass Production Type The mass-production model of the RX-75, the RX-75MP still retains an absurd amount of firepower, but much of the armor has been stripped away. Armor Points: 1300 Generator: 300 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: Gatling Cannons Damage: 40 Range: 450 Ammo: 480 120mm Cannons Damage: 250 Range: 850 Ammo: 32 Melee 50 Ranged 200 Speed 35 Boost 0 Radar 600 Notes: A much inferior version of the prototype. Yes, I know that kind of runs contrary to logic, but what can one man do? RMV-1 Guntank II A heavier version of the original mass-production model Guntank, the Guntank II is just as slow and unwieldy as its predecessor, but boasts a great deal more firepower. Armor Points: 2500 Generator: 400 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: Rocket Launchers Damage: 65 Range: 450 Ammo: 240 Machine Guns Damage: 130 Range: 600 Ammo: 60 120mm Cannons Damage: 300 Range:1000 Ammo: 40 Melee 70 Ranged 280 Speed 35 Boost 0 Radar 650 Notes: Still inferior to the prototype... it's really ridiculous. The only real reason to use any Guntank other than RX-75 is aesthetic. And, to be fair, the RMV-1 does look a lot better than the RX-75. RX-77-2 Guncannon Occupying the middle-ground between the GM and the Guntank, the Guncannon is a mobile suit best-suited for medium-range support. The artillery cannons pack a heavy punch, but the Guncannon's slow speed and lack of mobility make it vulnerable in close-quarters combat. Armor Points: 4500 Generator: 480 Capacity: 65 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 30 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 240mm Cannons Damage: 400 Range:1000 Ammo: 36 Melee 190 Ranged 340 Speed 20 Boost 25 Radar 700 Notes: The quintessential medium-range support unit. This is an ideal mobile suit to hand off to AI partners, but lacks the right set of stats to be too useful to a flesh-and-blood pilot. RX-77-2 Guncannon SML-Equipped A variant of the prototype-Guncannon outfitted with powerful missiles. Armor Points: 4500 Generator: 480 Capacity: 65 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 30 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 Super Missile Launcher Damage: 95 Range: 700 Ammo: 360 Melee 190 Ranged 360 Speed 20 Boost 25 Radar 700 Notes: I find the missiles are more effective than simple shell artillery, but it's really just a matter of personal preference. RX-77D Guncannon Mass Production Type Like the prototype Guncannon, the mass-production unit is best suited for medium and long range support, lacking the capacity to handle close-range combat. Armor Points: 2800 Generator: 360 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 25 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 240mm Cannons Damage: 350 Range: 900 Ammo: 32 Melee 150 Ranged 280 Speed 15 Boost 20 Radar 650 Notes: Once again proving the fact that prototypes are always vastly superior to every single subsequent model. RX-77D Guncannon Rido Wolfe Custom Rido Wolfe's Custom Guncannon. Ain't she a beaut? Armor Points: 3000 Generator: 380 Capacity: 70 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 25 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 240mm Cannons Damage: 350 Range: 900 Ammo: 32 Melee 170 Ranged 320 Speed 25 Boost 30 Radar 650 Notes: Another custom guncannon. I had fun playing around with it, but it's not really suited for any serious endeavors, such as point-grinding or part-farming. RX-77-3 Guncannon Heavy Type A heavy guncannon designed for heavy support. It packs a heavy punch and an insane amount of armor. Only a small number of these elite units went into production before the end of the One Year War. Armor Points: 5200 Generator: 500 Capacity: 70 Fixed Armaments: Head Vulcans Damage: 30 Range: 200 Ammo: 320 Beam Cannon Damage: 480 Range:1000 Ammo: 36 -Melee 200 -Ranged 370 -Speed 10 -Boost 25 -Radar 700 Notes: This is the only artillery-type mobile suit on the Federation side that I can really recommend. It has some really, really bad mobility, but the other stats are all fairly good, as are the fixed arms. With a little bit of tweaking, you can turn a Heavy Guncannon into a real monster. RX-79[G] Ground Combat Gundam A mass-produced model of Amuro's Gundam, strangely, this is the only Gundam-type mobile suit to enter mass production in the entire history of the Universal century. Only the RX-178 Gundam mkII and the LM312 Victory Gundam come close, both of which were produced in very small numbers. Armor Points: 3500 Generator: 60 Capacity: 270 Fixed Armaments: 60mm Vulcan Cannon Damage: 50 Range: 300 Ammo: 240 Multi-Launcher Damage: 50 Range: 100 Ammo: 20 Melee 270 Ranged 230 Speed 20 Boost 25 Radar 350 Notes: I don't really find much here to care about. It has all of the expense of a Gundam, with all the performance of a mass-produced model. Also, no matter how much I boost the mobility stats, it always feels just too damned sluggish for me. RX-79[G] Ground Combat Gundam GM Head A battlefield-repair of an RX-79 Gundam, with a GM's head. Armor Points: 3500 Generator: 430 Capacity: 60 Fixed Armaments: None -Melee ??? -Ranged ??? -Speed ??? -Boost ??? -Radar ??? Notes: Essentially the same as the RX-79, only it looks goofier. RX-79[G]Ez-8 Gundam Ez-8 A heavily customized custom-unit built specifically for the commander of the Earth Federation's 08th Mobile Suit team in Indochina during the One Year War. It was constructed primarily from spare parts and scrap metal. Armor Points: 3700 Generator: 450 Capacity: 75 Fixed Armaments: None -Melee 280 -Ranged 250 -Speed 30 -Boost 45 -Radar 450 Notes: The Ez-8 really isn't that much better than your typical ground combat gundam, the chief difference being that it looks very nice. It does have some nice stats, so it may be well worth your while to invest in the requisite part-farming. RX-78-1 Prototype Gundam The first of two prototype-model RX-78 Gundam-type mobile suits constructed by the Earth Federation for testing at Side 3, the RX-78-1 sports a black and white color scheme. Armor Points: 4800 Generator: 540 Capacity: 70 Fixed Armaments: None Melee 290 Ranged 260 Speed 30 Boost 35 Radar 400 Notes: This is one ugly little fellow, with some pretty piss-poor stats. Of course, you'll be seeing it quite often as it's necessary for the far superior RX-78-2 and, most certainly, the godly G3. RX-78-2 Gundam The legendary White Devil,-the RX-78-2 was the prototype mobile suit piloted by Federation Newtype Ace pilot Amuro Ray in the latter days of the One Year War. Though the Gundam saw combat for only a limited period (it was destroyed only a few months after it was first deployed) its pilot's raw ability, and the fact that it saw action on nearly every major front, led to the RX-78-2 becoming an iconic mobile suit that would grow into something of a legend, inspiring others to fight against seemingly impossible odds generations after its pilot was forgotten. Armor Points: 4800 Generator: 540 Capacity: 70 Fixed Armaments: None Melee 300 Ranged 270 Speed 30 Boost 35 Radar 400 Notes: Nice stats, but to me it's still basically just a stepping-stone on the way to the G3. It's a decent enough mobile suit, but it's mostly worth it just for the nostalgia-factor. RX-78-3 G3 Gundam A replacement Gundam issued to EFSF pilot Amuro Ray after the destruction of the RX-78-2. Painted in a dark gray color-scheme and upgraded with the latest in Federation mobile-suit technology, including magnetic coating on the joints, give the G3 Gundam possessed unparalleled combat ability. Armor Points: 4800 Generator: 560 Capacity: 75 Fixed Armaments: None Melee 300 Ranged 280 Speed 35 Boost 45 Radar 400 Notes: Easily, this is the very-best mobile suit in the entire game. Even factoring in the DLC mobile suits, the G3 stands a head above the rest. It's got fantastic stats, a lot of room to customize, and is very responsive, and it also has a very lean profile that none of the other top-tier mobile suits can match. Simply put, it is the ideal mobile suit, and it looks pretty bad-ass to boot. FA-78-1 Full Armor Gundam ??? Zeon Mobile Suits 6-2 Mobile Suits were first developed by the Republic of Zeon as multi-purpose construction vehicles, capable of operating well both within the confines of a colony and in the void of space. After the assassination of Zeon zum Deikun and the reformation of Zeon as a principality, mobile suits were quickly repurposed as combat machines. The first combat mobile suit, Zeon's MS-05 Zaku, proved itself devastatingly effective in the early days of the One Year War: the advent of Minovsky-particles forever changed the face of modern warfare, and ensured that the Zaku—and all its descendants—would reign surpreme over the battlefield. Secrets & Extras 7-0 Well, other than the Gold and Silver mobile suits, it's not like there are any secret things to unlock. So that makes this section here mostly for trophy information. Super exciting, huh? Mercenary Mode Mercenary mode acts as a third faction for free missions, both online and offline. It grants the player access to equipment from both Zeon and the Federation, for double the price. Mercenary mode is unlocked once both single-player campaigns have been completed on any of the difficulty settings. Trophies Two of the trophies in the list are hidden. These trophies are given for obtaining the two special mobile suits in the game, the Gold GM and the Silver Zaku, both of which are obtained via part evolution. Well, I say that, but this section is really just here to contain the actual FAQ part of this guide, as well as the few credits that are necessary to dole out. Frequently Asked Questions Question 8-1 Answer Is this game worth importing? Do you like Gundam games? Do you like playing online? If so, you'll probably find it worth the cost of importing. But, ideally, you should watch some gameplay videos and decide for yourself if you think the game looks fun. Personally, I thought it looked fantastic, so I bought it, and I've never looked back. Is this game ever going to come out in the United States or Europe? No. Gundam Senki is nearly two years old already, and we haven't seen anything to give us even the slimmest glimmer of hope for an overseas localization. It's too bad, but predictable. Will this game work on my American/European Playstation 3? While Blu-Ray movies do have region coding, no PS3 games have region coding. This means that you can play ANY Playstation 3 title on ANY Playstation 3 console. There are NO exceptions. Is there a translation for the game? Not at this time, no. Most of the menus are in English and the controls are fairly standard, so you should be able to play without much trouble. While it's true you won't be able to understand the story of the game, The Japanese PSN store does have an OVA based on the game, and it's entirely possible that this OVA will eventually be (illegally) subbed. Is there any Downloadable Content (DLC)? Yes, there is a variety DLC available for Gundam Senki at the moment. At launch, players will be able to download two mobile suits to additional to add to the game, as well as an OVA-rental covering the story of game. First-printings of the game will all contain codes to freely-download the OVA from the Japanese PSN store, and the special edition bundles (the game packaged with a new slim PS3) will feature codes to download the first two DLC mobile suits for free. Numerous additional mobile suits are also available for download, the details of which you can find here in this FAQ. How do I buy the DLC? First, you will need to set-up a Japanese account in order to log-in to the Japanese PSN Store. Then, you will have to add funds, which can be rather tricky. You have two options: you can either use a Japanese credit card, provided you have one, or you will have to purchase a Japanese PSN money card from an online retailer. Sadly, The Japanese PSN store will not accept funds, credit-card or PSN-card, that do not originate in Japan itself. I got a code with my game to download the OVA, but I can't figure out how to do so. Can you help me? Sorry, but the code for the free rental of the OVA from the PSN store only applies to people accessing the PSN store from Japan. And if you're in Japan, you really don't have much use for this FAQ, do you? Is there a mandatory install? No. You do, however, have the option to install the game's data to your HDD 謡 hich will use up about 3.5GB of space. Installing has a mild-to-meager effect on how quickly the game loads. Personally, I haven't noticed much of a difference. How do I play online? In order to play Gundam Senki online, you simply need to have an active internet connection. You do not need to create a Japanese PSN account. You may experience lag online depending on a variety of factors, first and foremost being the strength of your connection. The servers are also quite busy during the weekend, so if you do have a limited online connection you may want to think carefully about when you play. Why can't I join an online match? Certain matches are closed. If you're unable to join a specific game, try either finding a different game, or hosting your own. Why can't I accept my friend's invitation? There are a variety of reasons why you can't enter a match you've been invited to. The most common would simply be that the room has already entered a mission, and you can't join while a mission is in progress. The second most common explanation would be that the factions do not match up. Federation players can only join rooms hosted by other Federation players, and the same is true for Zeon players. Mercenary players can enter a room hosted by either Federation of Zeon players (as well as other mercenaries, of course) but ONLY other mercenary players can join a room hosted by a mercenary player. The final and least common explanation would simply be that the game's servers are enduring too much lag, and your connection times out. When this happens, you will enter-the room, but will not see any other players. After a short while, you will automatically eject from the room. Why is online multiplayer so laggy? While not always the case, some online games will involve significant amounts of lag. Why? Most commonly it's because either you have a poor connection, or the game's host has a poor connection. It's also possible that the game's servers are overtaxed. I've also hear reports that physical proximity plays a role (but I've not been able to verify this) which means that, essentially, the further apart the individual players are, the more likely the game is to lag. Personally, I have not seen this happen and have had no trouble playing with other players in the East US Coast, West US Coast, Western Europe and Japan (simultaneously), so take this last bit with a grain of salt. Is this the best Gundam game? At first, I thought, almost, but not quite.-But, to be perfectly honest, the more I play Gundam Senki, the more I fall in love with it. I can now say with a good deal of confidence that, in my opinion, Gundam Senki looks better and plays better than any other Gundam Game ever. It is lacking in terms of mission content and mobile suit variety... but those are paltry concerns, at best, for a game that is so much fun to play. When will the next gundam game be released? Two new gundam titles are coming in 2010: the first, Another Century Episode R is due out in July of 2010—think a crossover game with plenty of Gundam, Macross and even a bit of Full Metal Panic tossed in—and the second is actually an arcade game, titled "Extreme Versus," and is the next generation of the popular "versus" series of gundam games. The arcade hardware is modelled on PS3 architecture, so it's likely we'll get a port before too long. The arcade version will be released in Japan in Q3 2010. Why isn't this FAQ finished yet? You mean it's not? Well, that's news to me—email me whatever you think is missing and I'll do my best to add it in. As far as I know, this FAQ is done. Barring whatever mobile suits and missions might be added as DLC in the future, I don't really plan on updating this FAQ again any time soon. What are the shield and beam rifle for the RX-78-7 called? Where are they? The shield for the RX-78-7 is called the "Gundam Shield+" and the beam rifle is the "Beam Rifle+." Please refer to the item tables for information on how to obtain each item. Will there be any more DLC? It's 2011 already, and we've seen nothing new for more than a year, so... what do you think? No, we're not going to see any new DLC, sadly. Would you write a FAQ for any future Gundam game on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 or Wii? Definitely not for the Wii, but if no one else steps up to the plate, I'll probably tackle a FAQ for future games. I've ended up writing a partial FAQ for ACE:R, but given how godawful that game was, I think it best to qualify my potential future plans with, "only if it's a decent game." May I copy this file, slap my name on it and claim it as my own work? No, you may not. Despite being just plain rude, that's also illegal. I should hope no one would have such poor judgment....
