Letter from the CEO
It’s hard to believe that Frank’s International recently celebrat-
ed the one-year anniversary of our initial public offering (IPO).
Bumps in the road are to be expected whenever a private company first goes public, and Frank’s has had its fair share of challenges. However, I can confidently report to each of you that we
are on track and are poised for record growth and expansion in
the coming months and years.
I am very pleased with the progress we have made,
and I am very optimistic about the direction we are
heading as a public company. Frank’s International
has come a long way since my grandfather, Mr. Frank
Mosing, and my grandmother, Mrs. Jesse Mosing, established Frank’s out of their garage in Lafayette, Louisiana, in 1938.
Today, the Frank’s family numbers over 4,300 strong,
spanning approximately 60 countries on 6 continents.
I am personally proud of each of our employees who
have made this company the leader in the tubular services industry. They engineer and manufacture innovative tools and provide outstanding customer service.
Frank’s is continuing to add a lot of great new talent
who are complementing an already top-notch team,
and their continued hard work is reason enough to
be optimistic about the future of Frank’s International.
All of us together are working hard every day to make
Frank’s a stronger company. We are innovating and designing new equipment, finding ways to provide better
service to our customers, and we are improving our reporting to provide more transparency to our investors.
All of this is what makes Frank’s International the great
company that it is.
For over 75 years, Frank’s International has been setting
new standards in oilfield services worldwide, all while
maintaining the highest degree of safety. In fact, our
employees are some of the most vigilant and prepared
personnel in the oil industry. We pride ourselves on our
technology, engineering expertise, and our relationships with our customers who trust us and value the
services we provide.
Over the last year since our IPO, I have often been
asked why we decided to take Frank’s International
public. The answer is simple — we wanted to give the
company liquidity, as well as the opportunity to grow
and attract new talent in an ever-increasing competitive environment. I enjoy Frank’s being a public company and am optimistic about what the future holds.
Frank’s International is a great company; however, I am
confident that we can and will become an even better
company. 2014 has been a great year, and I am excited
about the opportunities we are pursuing and have secured for 2015 and 2016.
To our longtime customers, our loyal employees, our
friends and stockholders, I thank you and truly appreciate your support.
Sincerely,
Keith Mosing

Frank’s International’s Xtreme3 Gas-Tight Series:
The NeXt Generation of Deepwater Threaded Connectors
by Cody Roy
I
n response to recent customer demand, Frank’s International has implemented a groundbreaking
refinement to its Xtreme3 Connector, yielding a gas-tight series. Despite being Frank’s International’s
first gas-tight deepwater connection, its more robust design, rigorously tested development and enhanced mechanical performance make it more than competitive in today’s industry.
Following 28 successful Xtreme3 Connector
jobs in recent history, global-leading operators expressed much interest in a gas-tight
series, so Frank’s International, always quick
to innovate, responded. The 22” Gas-Tight
Xtreme3 Connector is the perfect solution for
deepwater applications. Not only is this connector mechanically sound under extreme
loading scenarios, but its gas-tight seal can
withstand such conditions as well.
Given the proprietary nature of Frank’s
International’s gas-tight connector design, it
is imperative for our customers to be able to
rely on standardized testing procedures that
help ensure a safe operating combined load
envelope. In an effort to provide assurance
beyond “in-house” analysis, all Xtreme3 Connectors have undergone high-resolution finite
element analysis (FEA), as well as standard and
modified ISO 13679 CAL-1 load testing (all by
an independent testing laboratory) — fatigue,
seal ability, gas, water, etc. — which are all
testaments to the connector’s durability.
The addition of a gas-tight connection has
prompted the rapid development of even
larger connections to promote 36” to 38”
casing applications. Packaging the existing
28” and 22” gas-tight connections with a
larger OD connection creates a multitude of
new opportunities for Frank’s International
within the connector manufacturing market.
While current Frank’s International customers are reliant on well-bore systems of
varying sizes, the well architecture that has
become the popular standard in deepwater
well construction worldwide is the “big bore”
design, i.e., 36” (38”)/22”, with 28” sometimes
needed due to shallow water flow. Frank’s
International will soon supply the available
market with this connector package, along
with the expertise and tooling required to
run the string. This further establishes Frank’s
International at the forefront of deepwater
casing running services.
Customers will find the 22” Gas-Tight
Xtreme3 Connector’s potential for adaptability just as impressive and reassuring
as its comprehensive testing. The metalto-metal seal technology inherent to this
connector, for instance, is complementary
to other sizes in the Xtreme family of con-
nections, allowing for further development
and optimization of requested connector
sizes. Availability in a multitude of steel
grades, weld neck geometry that allows
the connector to be welded to a range of
connector OD measurements and antirotation features all serve to enhance the
22” Gas-Tight Xtreme3 Connector’s customization potential. In short, the technology
developed today is now a platform for the
future of Frank’s International’s Xtreme3
product line.
The oil and gas industry demands myriad
technical capabilities from its available connectors: long fatigue life, elastomeric and
metal-to-metal seals, quick make-up at low
torque, stabbing guides, anti-rotation assurance, appropriate pre-load, and high-strength
capacity — just to name a few. Frank’s
International has answered the call and will
continue to meet these demands throughout
the future of its premium-thread connector
product line.

Frank’s extensive deepwater experience
was utilized by Anadarko for two wells
off New Zealand on the newly built
dual-activity drillship Noble Bob Douglas.
“This was a huge operational success
attributed to the team effort by various
groups throughout the organization
globally. With the support from business
development, engineering, operations,
the asset team, senior management and
our deepwater service technicians, we
have ensured and delivered a deepwater
package of the highest quality to our
customer,” explained Rick Kettlewell, Far
East regional operations manager. The
Noble Bob Douglas drillship was deployed
in October 2013 from South Korea to New
Zealand for a two-well campaign. Both
wells were in water depths of approximately 4,921 feet in the New Zealand region, which is well known for high winds
and rough sea states.
The provision of the Remote Operated Cassette Tong System into the Iron
Roughneck, was the first cassette integration with a NOV ST-160 Iron Roughneck.
Both cassettes, the XT-22” and 14 3/8”,
were deployed and integrated without
any issues. This demonstrates the depth,
knowledge and expertise of our engineering team in accomplishing this task under
a restricted timeframe.
Frank’s proprietary equipment was selected as being the best fit for Anadarko’s
operation and included the Remote

the project was extremely positive, with
one of the comments mentioning, “I am

Frank’s Australia Contracted
for Deepwater Work with
Woodside Australia
Rig: Deepwater Millennium
Water Depth: +/- 3,000 feet
Woodside Australia approached the
Frank’s Australia division to look at
application of deepwater technology on
the Deepwater Millennium and Woodside’s first deepwater project in Australia. Frank’s arranged the rig survey and
customer discussion over a very tight
deadline and was able to present a solution to the various challenges Woodside
would encounter during the campaign.
This included extremely heavy Casing
Strings, Flush Casing, High Torque type
connections and the need for remote
operations. Here again, the input from
Engineering in Lafayette enabled us
to propose the best-in-class, optimum
equipment to ensure the campaign in
the deep waters of Australia is successful.
Far East is currently working with other
major operators in the region to secure
additional deepwater work as the deepwater initiatives in the region are set to
increase substantially with the deployment of the new-build deepwater rigs
over the next many months.
On the Galleon-PG-11 well, drilled by Shell on the Noble Al White in the UK
North Sea Sector, Frank’s FA-1 Casing Running Tool was used to install a
13 5/8” by 13 3/8” surface casing, which was one of the longest, deviated
and most challenging top-hole sections within the NAM.
The tool was instrumental in achieving
the objectives of installing the casing in
the target formation, which was located
at a depth of 6,496 feet AHRT.
• The first 984 feet of 13 5/8” casing
was made up using power tongs
and FA-1 as fill-up tool.
• At 2,460 feet, a tight spot was
encountered, requiring 14 hours
of circulations at the maximum
allowable flow rate for the hole,
rotating with maximum torque for
the casing connection.
• At 3,182 feet, rotation was not
feasible due to torque limitations
of the casing.
• At 3,182 to 3,248 feet, 12 hours of
applying 20 metric tons WOB and
washing down at the maximum
flow rate were required.
• Circulating casing down to ca.
6,397 feet encountered multiple
tight spots and Open Hole Friction
Factors up to 0.6.
• Hard work was put in at 6,397 feet
to work through a ledge. Thanks
to the ability of the FA-1 to wash
down and set down up to 30
metric tons, the casing was worked
past the ledge.
• Wellhead was landed without issues.
• Despite all heavy work, no failures
occurred on the tool.
The FA-1 tool is considered by the Shell
operations team as a safe and effective tool, which enabled the push on
technical boundaries and the case off
of a very troublesome hole section.
Integration with the rig, in terms of
hardware and people, is seen as vital to
a safe operation.
Shell expects a challenging casing trip
for the next hole section and will use
the FA-1 preventively.

IHC PILING HAMMERS
by Rolf Kampman
O
ver the last 25-plus years, Frank’s International has invested in IHC Hydraulic
Hammers. In May, Teun Verschoor, the IHC
sales manager, contacted Frank’s Den Helder
base to announce that IHC had a present
for Frank’s Netherlands. Frank’s received a
model hammer from IHC in appreciation for
the order of 12 IHC Piling Hammers over the
past three years.
For IHC, this is a significant number of
hammers ordered in a short period of
time. The total number of IHC Piling Hammers within the Frank’s organization is
now above 30 pieces. This means Frank’s
finally settled within the top two owners
of IHC Piling Hammers worldwide.
Several personnel from IHC visited Frank’s
in Den Helder to witness the handover of
the S-150 Hammer Model.
The model hammer is scaled 1:5 based
on the S-150 size Piling Hammer with a
36” guide sleeve to drive conductor casings onshore and offshore. The hammer
is located at the entrance of the Frank’s
office in Den Helder, Netherlands. This
gift underlines the good relationship
between the two companies and the
willingness to improve the relationship
even more in the future.
The top of the hammer designs have been
modified to comply with new regulations
in Europe, and this was accomplished
through the cooperation between Frank’s
Aberdeen, United Kingdom, and Den Helder, the Netherlands. Other small modifications of the IHC Hydrohammer will be
discussed in the near future to improve
the performance of the equipment in the
operational field.
IHC Personnel: Sven Bakker, operations manager;
Evert Jan Grisel, system engineer; Wilfred de Kreek,
service engineer; Michiel van Straaten, production coordinator; Kim Heijmen, sales support; Jaap
Houbolt, project manager; Kevin Jongkind, sales
manager; and Teun Verschoor, sales manager.
Frank’s Personnel: Alistair Kirby, global hammer
manager; Remco Schol, operations supervisor;
Patrick Schelvis, operations manager; and Rolf
Kampman, country manager.
NSE Event 2 14
by Bas Peereboom
The NSE (North Sea Energy) Soccer Cup is a great
mix that serves charity combined with meeting
industry professionals and having fun. North Sea
Energy is all about bringing the network together
in a sporty and relaxing environment, as sports and
business go well together.
This year, Frank’s participated together with more
than 30 other offshore teams. Frank’s won the
first match against our client, TAQA, giving us the
orange lion spirit; however, this quickly changed
after the second match that we lost with a score of
2-0. We tied the third game with a score of 0-0 and
lost the last game with a score of 1-0.
In all, it was a successful day of meeting new
people. The event also reminds us how good the
team spirit is within the Dutch oil and gas industry;
everybody was having a great time with good food
and drinks.

BP MS 150
by Amanda Johnson
For the seventh year, Frank’s International
made its journey from Houston to Austin,
Texas, in the 30th Annual BP MS 150 in
April 2014. This was a two-day trek to
help raise awareness for multiple sclerosis.
Frank’s teamed up with Southwestern
Energy to make up an incredible team of
about 60 riders and volunteers.
Between the two teams, nearly $140,000
was raised for this event. The 180-mile
bike ride is not just an ice bucket challenge; it is a commitment to do much
more. The BP MS 150 is the top fundraising
event for the National Multiple Sclerosis
Society. Multiple sclerosis, referred to as
MS, is considered an autoimmune disorder
that attacks the healthy tissues affecting
the brain, the spine and the optic nerves.
riders helping to raise over $19 million
for research. The Frank’s Famous Cooking
Team met up with the weary riders in La
Grange, Texas, and worked furiously to
keep the troops fed for breakfast, lunch
and dinner, after their nearly 100-mile ride
just on day one.
Initial symptoms can be very difficult to
detect, but later can be very detrimental
to mobility and other functions. Although
research has made progress in “modifying”
the symptoms, there is no cure.
With an estimated 2.1 million people affected by this disease, it makes one proud
to say that Frank’s was among the 13,000

TEACHER TOUR
In August, as part of our mission to build
an innovative, technology-based future for
Lafayette, Frank’s International hosted a
group of high school career and technical
education instructors from the Lafayette
Parish School System. The teachers met
with Frank’s team members from the
engineering, safety and human resources
departments and toured the company’s
manufacturing and machining center as
part of their in-service training for the
2014-2015 school year. Frank’s representa-
tives talked to them about career paths
available to their students and demonstrated some of the new technologies
shaping the future of the energy industry.
The visit was a great opportunity for the
teachers to see how the skills they were

FI Colombia Soccer
by Frank’s International Colombia
Founded in 2013, the Frank’s International Colombia
soccer team represents its namesake with honor.
The vast majority of the team is made up of people
directly involved with the company. The team’s
brotherhood and sportsmanship is recognized
throughout the local community.
Being a part of the soccer team not only is a healthy
form of exercise for the members, but it also has
had a positive impact within Frank’s International
Colombia. The team facilitates a better environment
for living and working together, as well as optimal
communication within the group. The support we
receive from our leaders motivates us to continually
strive for success.
We invite all Frank’s International team members to
continue pursuing all our goals as a company and
as a family.

SAFETY
by Cliff Roberts, CSP, and Kenny Vallot
P
roject Zero. As a member of the Frank’s International team, you’ve seen these
words on signs and posters. You’ve also heard these words in safety videos and
at safety meetings. But do you really know what Project Zero is all about? It’s not
just a couple of words thrown together to make a slogan, and it’s certainly not a
convenient safety catchphrase. Project Zero is a lifestyle. Project Zero is a culture.
Project Zero is a commitment. While it is no secret that the greatest asset at Frank’s
International is its people, Project Zero exemplifies our dedication to the safety
and health of those people, and making sure that they are able to do what they do
best for Frank’s, day after day, without getting hurt.
But why zero? That’s easy — zero is our
objective and our aim. Despite the fact that
zero is the smallest number, it is our most
important number. It is the goal that we strive
toward when we start each day: zero injuries,
zero deficiencies, zero nonconformities, zero
miscommunications and zero mistakes.
injury-free in 2013, we look forward to adding more locations to that list each year. You
see, Project Zero is more of a journey rather
than a destination. When we reach zero, it’s
our job to stay at zero. This involves each
and every person at your facility being committed to making a difference.
With all of that in mind, there are some who
truly believe that achieving zero is simply
not possible. Granted, Project Zero presents
quite a challenge for us all. But what if there
were dozens of Frank’s locations that proved,
once and for all, that zero could be achieved
for an entire year?
While we all know that it only takes one
person to make a difference, one person
at Frank’s recently proved it. This unknown
person recently took a stand for safety, did
the right thing and then left the following message as a handwritten letter on his
supervisor’s desk:
As a matter of fact, there were so many
Frank’s locations that achieved zero
recordables in 2013 that the list would fill
this entire article. Exemplary safety records
were set in 2013 for most Frank’s locations in
Africa, Europe, Canada and South America,
as well as all of the Middle East and Far East
locations. There were also numerous locations in the United States that documented
zero recordable injuries in 2013.
I made it known to the Frank’s QHSE Rep that
a piece of equipment was defective, fearing
someone could hurt themselves. A fellow
worker, hearing I had reported it, shouted
across the workshop that I should be careful;
with the intention of humiliating me in front
of everyone, making out I was being petty
about safety.
While we are all extremely proud of the
Frank’s International locations that remained
To this person, I ask these questions:
• Have you ever been terrified to stand on
a power tong 20 feet in the air before the
compulsory use of a harness?
• Have you felt guilty because you were
pushing the tong when a roughneck
lost four fingers — before the use of
canvas straps?
• Have you ever, with tears in your eyes,
stood in the pouring rain staring at the
spot on the pipedeck where your friend
was killed the night before he was due
home, knowing his family will be receiving a corpse and not a loving father?
• Have you ever had a meal in a mess
hall that later became the mass grave
for rig workers, because procedures
weren’t followed?
• Have you ever listened to excited friends
talk about their marriage plans, and then
later listened to the distraught wife say
how the police would only let her see a
part of his arm for identification — all because of lack of helicopter maintenance?
• Do you ever really miss a workmate?
Same helicopter, same crash.
So … if you want to humiliate me, go right
ahead. I’ll stand there all day and take it, because I’m not going back to the way it was and
I’ll never stop trying to improve safety.
Anonymous
As this letter proves, all it takes is one person’s drive and determination to be a safety
leader, even if it means remaining perfectly
anonymous. This is in perfect alignment
with Project Zero. This person truly “gets
it.” It’s not just about being compliant; it’s
about being committed, standing up and
taking action.
In Remembrance Lewis Jones
On October 4, the Frank’s International family sadly
lost one of our legacy employees, Lewis Jones.
Lewis came to Frank’s in 2003, where he was based
out of the Houston corporate office as an inside
tubular salesperson. Prior to Frank’s, Lewis had a
long career as a procurement specialist at BP for 19 years. While at
BP, Lewis worked closely with the tubular sales team at Frank’s and
developed a special relationship with us. We were blessed when he
decided to continue his career with Frank’s International.
Lewis was well respected and a special friend to everyone in the
tubular industry. His signature cowboy hat and Western attire
kept Lewis grounded to his Western roots and the rodeo days of
his youth. A true gentleman to his very core, Lewis treated everyone as he would want to be treated. He was always positive and
friendly with his co-workers at Frank’s and was always able to put a
smile on his colleagues’ faces with the candy jar he kept filled with
everyone’s favorite goodies. Lewis will be greatly missed at Frank’s
International and within the entire tubular industry.
SAFETY AWARD
I
n 2014, Frank’s International received the Safest 70 Award for the
third consecutive year. Each year, the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC) recognizes the safest companies from
its pool of approximately 17,000 eligible policyholders. Frank’s
International was selected for the award due to its effectiveness in
preventing injuries and controlling cost. “Presenting this award is not
only LWCC’s way of recognizing Frank’s outstanding safety efforts,
but also it is a tribute to the efforts and commitment of the company’s employees, management and executive leadership,” said Mike
Page, LWCC director of corporate communications and safety outreach. “It is evident that safety is one of the company’s core values.”
Frank’s International remains committed to its safety goals. “Our
staff is continuously searching for new and effective methods to
uphold our dedication to safety, and this has resulted in our em-
ployees being some of the most vigilant and prepared personnel in the oil industry,” said Keith Mosing, chairman and CEO of
Frank’s International.
Tanzania Safety Recognition
by Ashraf Mandi
Karna Raj, Frank’s Tanzania safety supervisor, has
been recognized as the Gold Hard Hat Award
winner by BG Energy.
Per BG, “Raj displayed extraordinary safety
commitment, with outstanding behaviors
and ideas, based on the four duties we
expect from everyone: observation, intervention, compliance and contractor management.” Along with this award recognition, BG
also made a $1,000 USD donation toward a
local charity of Karna’s choice.
Frank’s Exhibits
at Offshore
Technology
Conference in
Houston
Karna has been with Frank’s International for six years, and during his
time with Frank’s, he has always showed initiative both in safety and
operational leadership. He has this easy ability to lead men not with
words but with his actions. Karna not only leads the team in safety
contribution but also operational improvement ideas that are currently within Frank’s engineering department. Karna came from a project
that was starting in Turkey working in the Black Sea; like this project,
it had a new rig freshly out of the shipyard in South Korea that had
its fair share of teething issues. Karna took notes on the issues the rig
faced regarding operational safety and brought those lessons learned
to the DSM-1 to help smooth out the transition from new build to the
smooth operating rig that it is today. Karna has always led the crew in
safe-card participation and has been recognized numerous times on
the DSM-1 regarding the quality of his participation.
Frank’s International once
again exhibited at the Offshore
Technology Conference (OTC)
in Houston, Texas, May 5-8.
It was our second year using
the newly redesigned booth,
which was created by Nimlok
in 2013. “Our booth catches
people’s attention,” said one
of our engineers who was in
attendance. “Its design mirrors
the innovation of our products
and services and serves as
a great conversation starter
with conference attendees.”
Each year at OTC, representatives from Frank’s International
staff the booth and talk with
potential customers about new
technologies and projects.

Robotics Event
T
his year, Frank’s International was
recognized by the Lafayette Parish
Public School System for supporting the district’s robotics competition
teams. Frank’s donated a total of $20,000
to robotics teams from four public high
schools in the Lafayette area. These funds
helped the teams purchase supplies to
create and build robots to compete in the
FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). The FRC
is an international competition in which
teams of high school students build and
program robots to perform prescribed
tasks against a field of competitors.
Several engineers from Frank’s also volunteered as mentors for the teams, providing guidance on issues like construction
FRANK’S ANNUAL F
CRAWFISH BOIL
rank’s International held its 31st annual
crawfish boil at Houston Farm & Ranch
this past May. The event is timed perfectly,
smack dab in the middle of Houston’s
annual Offshore Technology Conference.
With the hustle and bustle of the oilfield
industry festivities, this event allows
Frank’s employees, customers, friends and
family to slow down and enjoy each other
as they eat crawfish and jambalaya from
Louisiana Foods.
It is a great event put on by Mr. and Mrs.
Keith Mosing, and all proceeds go to
and design. In April, Frank’s invited the
students from these robotics teams to
visit the Lafayette campus, where they
toured a manufacturing facility, met with
engineers, viewed a demonstration on the
training rig, and learned about the future
of technology in the oil and gas industry.
As a member of the Lafayette community
for over 75 years, Frank’s has always looked
for ways to give back. We are committed
to investing in the local community and
developing our homegrown talent.
the Chuck Norris Kickstart Kids foundation. Entertainment was plentiful, with
performances by Johnston Middle School,
Burbank Middle School and Erick Esparza
— with his award-winning doublebo routine. Live music was put on by the
one and only Joe Douglas Badon’s Swamp
Fox Band. Mr. Donald Mosing himself
was even visited by a special guest,
Marilyn Monroe!
Thank you to everyone who took part
in this special day!
Retirement Luncheon
I
n July, Frank’s International hosted a
luncheon to celebrate the hard work
and dedication of the company’s many
retired employees. The gathering gave
the retirees the opportunity to catch up
with each other and reminisce about their
time together. It also gave Frank’s a way
to thank them for their hard work and
dedication to the company.
Here are a few quotes from the attendees:
“My favorite memory of working at Frank’s is
the people that I enjoyed working with that
became lifelong friends of mine. I started
18
with Frank’s in 1961, and I can remember old
man Frank teaching so many of us young
guys how to manage our money and that
family came first always.”
— Richard Knott
“Frank’s is very family-oriented. Just like here
at this reunion. Who’s ever heard of a company that would call in all of its old retirees,
after two years, to have a little lunch? This
is just great. My advice to someone starting
at Frank’s is to learn your job, be on time
and be dependable. It’s nothing difficult or
complicated. The whole company is based
on people that they can depend on.”
— Richard Harris
“Now that I’m retired, what I miss most are
the people that I worked with. I’ve only been
retired for a year and a half, and I’m already
missing my job. Probably because the people
I worked with knew one another like family,
and we always looked out for one another.
Frank’s always took care of their employees.”
