HIGHER EDUCATION ISSUES NOC TO THE UNIVERSITY OF LORALAI
Higher Education Commission, Islamabad issued
No Objection Certificate to the University of
Loralai. After getting NOC from Higher
Education Commission, University of Loralai is
included in list among Degree Awarding
Universities of Pakistan. According to the details,
a high level delegation from HEC comprising Dr.
Javid Khan Advoiser to Chairperson H.E.C,
Muhammad Tahir Director A&A, Professor
Abdul Latif Durrani, Habibullah Nasar Regional
Director HEC, Quetta visited University of
Loralai and inspected the academics and
administrative matters of the University. During
the visit, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abdullah
Khan and Registrar,
Mr. Noor-ul-Amin Kakar briefed the inspection
committee about the academic progress of the
University.
Speaking at the occasion, the Vice Chancellor
thanked the Chairperson HEC, Prof. Dr. Mukhtar
Ahmed for sending the inspection team and his
kind support extended to the Universities of
Balochistan and particularly, to the University of
Loralai. He also thanked the HEC delegation
members who spared time for such visit. He said
that the UoLi team will leave no stone unturned to
make University of Loralai, one of the best
universities in the country.

PLANNING COMMISSION TEAM VISITS UNIVERSITY
No compromise shall be made on quality in academics and infrastructure. Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Abdullah
Khan while addressing on the occasion of visit of a Team from Planning Commission of Pakistan, that visited the
on-going construction project of the University of Loralai. The Vice Chancellor briefed the team about overall
progress and quality of the civil work and assured that no compromise will be made on quality of work and
material. The team also visited the academic block, city campus, where they visited different classrooms, computer
lab and library. Registrar, Mr. Noor-ul-Amin Kakar briefed the team about the academic progress of the University.
UNIVERSITY HOLDS FIRST MEETING OF THE SYNDICATE
University of Loralai holds first meeting of the Syndicate. The meeting was held in the University of Loralai
under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Khan. While addressing the first meeting, the
Vice Chancellor expressed great pleasure and stated that this day is not less than any historical moment where we
are gathered and attending the very first meeting of the Syndicate, University of Loralai.
In the meeting, various administrative and academic issues were discussed and resolved. The Vice Chancellor, while
addressing the meeting, stated that university would keep merit and quality both in academics and administration,
its prime motive and will have no compromise in its maintenance. After the meeting the members also visited the
under-construction building of the University and appreciated the quality of work. Prof. Dr. Rasool Baksh Tareen,
Prof. Abdul Lateef Durrani, Vice Chancellor SBKWU and members from the University of Loralai attended the
meeting. The Vice Chancellor thanked all the members for sparing time to attend the meeting.

TEACHERS ATTEND TRAINING IN HEC CENTRE AND IBA KARACHI
A special training session was arranged by Higher Education Commission in Institute of Business and
Administration Karachi from 17 to 20th August, 2015, in which teachers and administrative staff of universities
from all-over Pakistan participated. The training was aimed to uplift the administrative and academic skills of the
university staff. Mr. Attaullah khan and Mr. Syed Khalil Ahmed from University of Loralai attended the session.
The training was conducted in IBA, Karachi with the collaboration of HEC. On return to university, both the
faculty members arranged presentation session for the faculty members and students of the University. Prof. Dr.
Abdullah Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Loralai appreciated the teachers and said that such session would
help the teachers & students to build their confidence besides learning new ideas.
NEW ADDITION TO UOLI TEAM
Dr. Maroof Bin Rauf, a new addition to Uoli Team,
joins as Assistant Professor in the department of
education. He is having a Ph.D Degree from Karachi
University and enormous teaching experience at
different institutions and good number of research
publications at various educational topics.
Mr. Fahad Lateef, a graduate from BUITEMS, Quetta
and MS from Mid Sweden University recently
appointed as Lecturer in the Department of
Computer Science. His addition in UoLi team is
considered as valuable asset.

UOLI TEACHERS ATTENDS WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS
OF UNIVERSITIES IN BALOCHISTAN
The workshop was organised by the
Inter-University Consortium held
from 24th august to 4th september
for promotion of Social Sciences
(IUCPSS) and COMSATS Institute
of Information Technology (CIIT)
in support with the National
Testing Service (NTS) Pakistan and
the Government of Balochistan.
Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mir
Abdul Quddus Bizenjo graced the
occasion as chief guest.
The main objectives of the master
trainer workshop was updating
university teachers about current
trends in knowledge disseminating
in areas such as cur riculum
development, assessment and
evaluation, micro-teaching and
research methodology, academic
writing, classroom management,
communication and presentation
skills. Around 22 faculty members
belonging to five public sector
u n i ve r s i t i e s o f B a l o c h i s t a n
attended the workshop.
Besides training based on modules,
the participants interacted with top
policy makers and enjoyed a
detailed discussion on issues faced
b y t h e c o u n t r y, e s p e c i a l l y
challenges of education sector. The
participants interacted with the
acting president of Pakistan and
Senate Chairman, Raza Rabbani.
They also met Federal Minister for
Planning and Development, Mr.
Ahsan Iqbal. Under the supervision
of IUCPSS National Coordinator,
Mr. Murtaza Noor, the participants
also prepared detailed short and
long-term plans for carrying out
similar workshops and related
activities in their respective
u n i v e r s i t i e s .
Speaking on the occasion,
Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mir
Abdul Quddus Bizenjo expressed
hope that the faculty of the
province would benefit from the
workshop and share knowledge and
techniques with their colleagues. He
said that education is at top priority
of the Government of Balochistan.
He, on behalf of the government
and people of Balochistan,
extended thanks for the
announcement of 50 PhD
scholarships by the CIIT, award of
need-based scholarships. Dr. Nassir
Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor, Haripur
University said that the consortium
with its partner organisations
would continue to work with the
Government of Balochistan, and
universities through faculty and
student exchange and expertise
sharing. He announced fee waiver
for the students of Balochistan at
Haripur University and other
consortium member institutions.
CIIT (Islamabad) Rector, Dr. S M
Junaid Zaidi assured that they
would continue to support such
initiatives in future as well and
every possible cooperation will be
extended to the government and
youth of Balochistan for
strengthening higher education and
overcoming shortage of skilled
human resource in Balochistan.
Sharing their remarks regarding
the workshop and stay at Islamabad,
the participants termed their
e x p e r i e n c e ve r y u s e f u l a n d
appreciated the effor ts of
organizers and the Government of
Balochistan for providing the
opportunity. They suggested that
such programmes should continue
on permanent basis.

shared the background, objectives
and proceedings of the workshop.
In the end, the Balochistan
Assembly speaker distributed
certificates among participants.

INDEPENDENCE IS WORTHLESS. VC UOLI
University of Loralai organized Independence Day function on 14 th of August. Vice Chancellor University of
Loralai, Prof Dr. Abdullah Khan was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Registrar University of Loralai, Mr.
Noor-ul-Amin kakar and the invited guest from Higher Education Commission, Director regional office Quetta,
Mr. Habibullah Nasar, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.Program
started formally with the recitation of Holy Quran followed by a National Anthem. The students presented
national songs, short drama and speeches about the importance of independence, love for their motherland,
Pakistan. While addressing on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Khan urged the students to be
loyal to their country and devoted to their studies. He said that the worth of independence and independent land is
known to those who live either in slavery or are in refuge. He thanked the Regional Director HEC, Mr. Habibullah
Nasar for attending the function and staff of UoLi who arranged the event. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abdullah
Khan presented a worthy speech regarding various areas that include, scholarships for students, faculty members,
infrastructure and future plans. The Vice Chancellor advised the students for abiding rules & regulation of the
University by being punctual, forming cheating free education and participating in co-curricular activities.
1st SELECTION BOARD HELD IN THE UNIVERSITY
First meeting of the Selection Board for regularization of faculty members was held in the University. Prof. Dr.
Abdullah Khan, Vice Chancellor University chaired the meeting. On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor briefed the
board about the over-all situation and stated that the faculty members working in the university were appointed in
2009 and since their appointment they were on contract which created sense of unrest among the faculty
members. As it was the need of the hour and basic demand of the faculty members, the university would wish to
regularize their services. The board members interviewed and evaluated the candidates in both demonstration
and interview. Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Jabeen, Vice Chancellor SBKWU, Quett, Mr. Shahbaz Khan Mandokhail
Member Balochistan Public Service Commission, Prof. Abdul Lateef Durrani, Prof. Inayatullah, Dr. Jan
Muhammad, Dr. Waheed Noor and Chairpersons of the teaching departments attended the meeting. After the
meeting the Vice Chancellor hosted dinner in the honour of the members of the Selection Board.

STUDENT RECEIVES SCHOLARSHIP
STUDENTS PICNIC TO ZIARAT
A group of the students, University of Loralai, led
by Dr. Maroof Bin Raoof and Mr. Abdul Quddus
Babar, visited Ziarat on picnic. The picnic was
sponsored by the University of Loralai. Speaking at
the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr.
Abdullah Khan said that such visits are not only
picnics but it will help the students to be aware of
the historical places of Pakistan. The students
visited Quaid-e-Azam Residency, Baba Kharwari
and other places in the Zairat. The students thanked
the Vice Chancellor for providing this opportunity.
Mr. Farhan, student of MBA, 2nd Semester has
been awarded Punjab Government Endowment
Fund Scholarship. Mr. Farhan is an outstanding and
brilliant student of the University of Loralai and
takes active part in curricular and co-curricular
activities in the University. The Vice Chancellor,
University of Loralai, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Khan
presented the cheque to the student. While
speaking at the moment, the Vice Chancellor
thanked the Government of Punjab for providing
such scholarships to the students of the undeveloped area of Balochistan. Registrar and
faculty members were also present at the occasion.
STUDENTS VISIT TO FC, HEADQUARTER
On a special invitation of the Frontier Crops Loralai Commander, Con: Muhammad Faisal, a group of the
students visited FC Headquarter Loralai where the FC had arranged various stalls regarding the History of
Pakistan, Balochistan and particularly Loralai. Stalls were also arranged about the culture and minerals of
Loralai. The students took deep interest in the stalls. The Vice Chancellor University of Loralai, Prof. Dr.
Abdullah Khan and Registrar, Mr. Noor-ul-Amin Kakar briefed the students about the history and minerals of the
area. The students presented Local ATAN on the occasion.

SYED INAM SHAH ATTENDS MASTER TRAINERS-FACULTY
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Learning Innovation Division, Higher Education
Commission organized the 26th Batch of Master
Trainers-Faculty Professional Development Program
MT-FPDP from November 16, 2015 to January 15,
2016. 30 Faculty Members from the different public
sector & HEC funded private sector universities across
Pakistan participated. Mr. Syed Inamullah Shah,
Lecturer Management Sciences represented the
University of Loralai.
Faculty Professional Development Program has been
designed to equip the Higher Education teaching faculty
with the principles of professional teaching and research
skills, required for effective teaching and research. These
participants are then developed as Master Trainers who
will disseminate similar training in their respective
institutions either as Resource Person or as Coordinator. Twenty six such batches have completed the training
being organized by Learning & Innovation Division HEC in which 750 faculty members of different public and
HEC Funded Private Sector Universities got professional certification in principles of professional teaching and
research as well as management.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated Mr. Inamullah Shah over the successful accomplishment of such a useful
training and hoped that he would facilitate the faculty members at the campus. He also thanked Higher Education
Commission Islamabad Learning & Innovation Division for arranging such sessions for the faculty members of the
universities.
REGIONAL DIRECTOR HEC BRIEFS TEACHERS AND STUDENTS
REGARDING AGAZ-E-HAQOOQ BALOCHISTAN
The University of Loralai, with the collaboration of the Higher Education Commission, Regional Centre Quetta,
arranged one day orientation session about the Scholarships under Agaz e Haqooq Balochistan Project. The
invited guest from HEC, Mr. Habibullah Nasar briefed the gathering about HEC, Agaz e Haqooq Balochistan &
various scholarships offered by HEC, especially for the students and faculty of Balochistan. He also appreciated
UoLi for arranging such an auspicious gathering.
The registrar UoLi, Mr. Noor-ul-Amin kakar gratified the support of HEC and appraised Mr. Habibullah Nasar
for becoming the part of the program. He also briefed about the progress of University of Loralai made at a short
time span.

University Conducts Test For
The Students Of Al-hamd University
On the directives of the Higher Education
Commission Islamabad, the University of
Loralai holds one paper test for the students of
A l - H a m d U n i ve r s i t y Q u e t t a , w i t h t h e
collaboration of NACTE. More than 1200
candidates appeared at four centres, Muslim
Bagh, Khanozai, Zhob and Loralai. The Vice
Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Abdullah khan personally
supervised and inspected the centres. He
appreciated the vigilance staff for conducting fair
examination and thanked Prof. Dr. Mukhtar
Ahmed, Chair per son Higher Education
Commission Islamabad for his trust in the
University of Loralai.
Recruitment Test
Conducted In The University
University of Loralai holds recruitment test for
faculty members in all teaching departments.
The test was conducted through National
Testing Service, Islamabad in the University
where more than 120 candidates appeared.
While speaking at the occasion, the Vice
Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdullah Khan said that the
University of Loralai is at its initial stage and
our prime target is to induct qualified talented
faculty members in the University. He
appreciated the efforts of Registrar Office for
conducting this test.
