Unlike traditional theatre, Reader’s Theater is
“theatre of the imagination”. We will use popular
stories to create scripts & then perform them
using oral interpretation skills. There is no
memorizing or sets or costumes. Students use
their reading skills to bring characters to life.
Students will have a short performance/
presentation following class at 10:30 on the last
day of class.
Angela has a B.S. in Theater Arts, & has worked
with Firstage Milwaukee’s Children’s Theater.

MISSOULA CHILDREN’S THEATRE - THE TORTOISE VERSUS THE HARE
Join us in welcoming back the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre. A
touring team from MCT will be arriving at the historic Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake on Monday June 18
with a set, lights, costumes, props, and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play...except the cast. Students in
grades 1-12 (or week-long visitors to Green Lake) are invited to come to an open audition at the opera house from
4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on that date. 50-60 local students will be cast to perform in MCT’s production of
THE TORTOISE VERSUS THE HARE. Because of costume limitations there is no guarantee that everyone who
auditions will be cast in the play.
Rehearsals will be conducted every day from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at
the Thrasher Opera House. Then incredibly, after only one week of rehearsals, two public performances will be
presented on Saturday, June 23 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. There is no cost to the student or parents for this
unique and invaluable opportunity for the week-long workshop. Cost of show tickets: $12 adults, $8 students.
