PURSE CONSTRUCTION
5.
Make a narrow hem on the purse front
and the flap lining on the straight
sides.
6. WRST sew the purse flap to the top of
the purse back and do the same for the
front.
7. Tum both pieces right side out and
press.
8. Hand sew the trim around the front
piece of the purse then tum down the
flap and sew the trim on to the front of
the flap.
9. Sew the cord to each side of the purse
and sew a snap on the front of the purse
to--keep-tbe flap down. Sew the fringe to
the back side of the purse at the
bottom.
PANTIES CONSTRUCTION
1.
WRST sew center front together, and
center back together.
2. Tum down waist casing and sew,
leaving an opening for inserting elastic.
Insert elastic, lap ends and stitch ends
together. Machine stitch the opening
closed.
3. WRST sew the lace to the bottom of the
leg openings. Tum the lace down and
top stitch. Sew the elastic to the inside
of the leg opening at the line marked on
the pattern.
4. WRST sew the inseams making sure to
catch the elastic ends in the seam.
HAT CONSTRUCTION
10. Sew a gathering stitch around the outer
edge of the hat top.
11. WRST sew the two short end of the hat
band together.
12. Pull the gathering stitches to fit the hat
band. WRST pin and sew together.
13. Fold the hat band in half and hand sew
the band to the seam allowance.
14. Now you will decorate your hat with the
ribbon and the large rose.
DRESS CONSTRUCTION
15. WRST sew shoulder seams. Do the
same for the lining.
16. WRST pin the lining and the bodice
together and stitch around the neck and
down the back.
17. Clip curves and tum right side out and
press.
18. On the sleeve run two rows of gathers
at the top of the sleeves.
19. Pull gathers to fit the arm hole on the
bodice. WRST sew sleeves on to
bodice.
20. Make a narrow hem on the bottom of
the sleeve.
21. WRST sew the side seam and the
underarm seam together.
22. Put a row of gathering stitches at the top
of the skirt.
23. Pull the gathering stitches to fit the
bodice, WRST sew together.
24. Finish the dress with a 2" hem
25. Hand sew the lace applique to the front
of the bodice.
26. Take the crinoline and put a hem at the
bottom of it and put gathering stitches at
the top of it.
27. Pull the gathers to fit the waist of the
dress. Sew the crinoline to the waist
seam of the dress.
28. Finish the back of the dress with snaps.
Hand sew the trim around the neck of
the dress.
COAT CONSTRUCTION
29. WRST sew the cape and the cape lining
together around the two short ends and
the big curved side. Clip seam, tum
and press.
30. Hand sew the trim around the bottom
and the two short ends of the cape.
31. WRST make a tube for the bow and
leave open on the center of the long
side for turning right side out. Press and
hand sew the opening closed.
32. Tie the tube in to a bow and sew the
center back of the cape.
33. Set the cap to the side.
34. WRST sew the shoulder seam of the
coat and the lining.
35. WRST sew the collar together on the
two short end and the one long end. Clip
seam, tum and press.
36. Hand sew the trim to around the collar.
37. With right side of coat and the wrong
side of the collar baste around the neck.
WRST sew the lining to the coat around
the neck and down the front.
38. Clip seams, tum and press.
39. Sew a row of gathering stitches at the
top of the sleeve.
41. Pull the gathering stitches to fit the
armhole of the bodice. WRST sew the
sleeve to the bodice of the coat.
42. WRST sew the underarm seam and the
side seam. Set coat aside.
43. WRST sew the sleeve cuffs together at
the top. You will have two cuffs and
then you tum them and press.
44. Take one of the cuffs and unfold it and
WRST sew the ends together to make a
circle. Then refold the cuff back. Now
hand sew the trim to the top of the cuff
(the pointed edge)
45. Do the same for the other cuff.
46. Sew the Cuff to the bottom of the
sleeve (The best way to do it is with
wrong sides together and then tum the
cuff up and tack the point to the sleeve.)
47. Set the bodice of the coat to the side.
48. WRST sew the lining of the skirt to the
skirt at the bottom hem and down the
front. Tum and press.
49. Tum up a 1 1/2" hem and hand sew in
place.
50. Put a row of gathering stitches at the top
of th,e skirt. Pull the gathers to fit the
bodice. WRST sew the bodice to the
skirt.
51. Hand sew the cape to the bodice under
the collar and then sew the frog to the
front of the coat. You may sew the
hooks and eyes to the front of the coat if
you would like it to stay closed.
52. You may sew more trim on the dress if
you would like to. We sewed to pearls
on to the trim.
