Causeway. They were catching them off both
sides of the Causeway. Lots of Walleyes and
Crappies are caught at Mosquito Lake each
year. (They are known as the Inland Lake Erie
because of all the Walleyes caught each year.)

River, Some REAL MONSTERS have been

Trout Camp
Cold Creek Trout Camp is located at the
mouth of Cold Creek and the Sandusky Bay, right
across St.Rt. 6 from Margaritaville. Cold Creek
never freezes and stays at 48 degrees. This
fishery is known for its healthy population of
rainbow, brook, and brown trout. During the
Spring -Steelhead work their way in from the
Sandusky Bay. You can fish for only $5 a day.
Or you can purchase a SEASON PASS for
2016 ( good thru the end of Feb. 2017 ) .
They have daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly
rates for RV and Tent Camping, and Dockage.

Lagoon Deer Park is OPEN for your Summer
Fishing Pleasure. Jeff’s Catfish Pond is stocked
full of Delicious Channel Cats.These babies are
not only Delicious but FUN TO CATCH. They
love shiner minnows or night crawlers fished with
a bobber. This makes for a great trip to enjoy
with your kids on. Imagine how excited they will
be to help catch your supper.
Jeff reports the end of June was producing
LOTS of Large Mouth Bass and Delicious
Channel Cats.

also have a shelter house and a fire-ring with

with a boat, they have a boat ramp about 200
yards from the cottages. This is a good ramp
and the daily ramp fee is very reasonable. You
can run thru the Bay out to Lake Erie and catch
a limit of Walleye or Perch. They are also
located about a 20 minute drive to the Head
Boat Fishing in Port Clinton.

enjoyed a weeks vacation every Summer for
over 25 years at Driftwood Cottages and we

Area Report
Bernie at Anglers Supply is all geared up and
ready for this year’s Channel Catfish run up the
Sandusky River. He carries the areas largest
selection of live baits and Catfish Bait. He also
carries waders, rods and reels, and the area’s

were getting ready to spawn and moving into

and early morning were the best times to fill your
coolers with these delicious Cats. If you have
never tried eating Lake Erie Catfish you don’t
know what you have been missing. Be sure

WOW !!! The Summer fishing was going
strong at the end of June when Mother
Nature wasn’t messing things up. Limits of
Walleyes were being taken consistently off
the West Sister Island Area and between
West Sister and Stoney Point. Some nice
catches of Yellow Perch were also being
taken. Lot’s of Scrappy and Delicious
Channel Catfish were also being caught.

Lake Loramie is one of Ohio’s BEST KEPT

it’s Slab Crappies, “Big” Blue-Gills, and great
Saugeye fishing. Yes, you can catch all the

big Largemouth Bass that this lake is also known
