Spring Summer 2016
A Message from the Mayor
Welcome to the Spring /
Summer 2016 Caledon
Parks & Recreation Guide
There’s nothing like the promise of
spring to inspire fresh, new ideas. Our
Parks & Recreation department has
ticked-off a bunch of to-do’s and, while
they were at it, stirred a bit of swagger
into a Caledon summertime mainstay.

You’re probably thinking ahead to
how you want to spend your precious
summer days in Caledon. What’s more,
you’re probably also trying to plan what
your children will do this summer.
Flip to the middle of this Guide for our Summer Camp Planner a helpful,
handy chart designed to make your life a little bit easier. It plots all nine
weeks of camps, for all ages, across all facilities in Caledon. Pick your theme,
pick your week and register your child. It’s as easy as that.
That’s not the only new thing we’re trying on for size this summer. We’re all
familiar with Caledon Day, but don’t miss our first-ever “Caledon Day Gone
Country” – where we’re putting a country and western twist on this annual
community festival. Mark Saturday, June 18 on your calendar!
And one more thing: starting this spring, you can reach all of our Town-wide
parks and recreation services through one phone number. It’s our way of
making it easier for you to access what you need. Just call 905.584.2272
x.7327 for Parks & Recreation.
In Caledon we are fortunate to have access to many wonderful programs
and services available across 12 recreation facilities, as well as 260 km of
publicly-accessible trails and over 65 parks and playgrounds. I encourage
you to explore the many unique programs and services described in this
guide and take advantage of the wonderful opportunities that Caledon has
to offer.

individuals require additional support(s) in order to
successfully participate and we will work with children,
families and adults to achieve their recreation goals.
There are many ways that individuals with various abilities
or specific support needs can take part in our programs.
One-to-one staff can be provided, based on availability
to ensure the inclusion of every participant into our
programs. For those with additional needs, we encourage
the involvement of support workers provided by families
or other agencies.
Participants and families are invited to contact the Parks

inclusion opportunities and to register for our programs.
Our helpful, knowledgeable staff will assist families in
identifying suitable programs and determining the level
of additional support required on an individual basis.
