Latino Rebel Band was formed in 1998.
Born and raised in Glendale AZ, our grandfather was the professional trumpet player, Joe Chavez (aka Little Joe).
His travels with an orchestra band helped sew the seeds of music that would always be a part of us. Our father
Alfred started us on break dancing when we were small, entertaining the community at parties, the mall and on
TV.
My dad played bass with his band Vida, so as children we always thought it was just normal to have instruments
in the house with musicians practicing or just hanging and jamming. Dad would take us to gigs and we would just
watch until we all started finding our own path.
Latino Rebel Band has accomplished so much together as a family band. We’ve opened for major acts like Kamani
Marley, Malo, War, Katchafire, Tribal Seeds, E-40 and too many others to count. In this time we have become very
professional, experienced a lot of what the music world has to offer and gained a lot of respect in our community.
With other local musicians we have raised thousands of dollars playing benefits for families and people in need.
We were voted Best World Music by the people at the Arizona AIM Awards and of the 400 bands in competition on
the show WB61, we were in the TOP THREE.
Latino Rebel Band is always VERY powerful and entertaining. Our live show gets rave reviews and is guaranteed to
keep the people dancing. Our favorite part… coming out into the crowd at the end of our show and jamming with
the people.
That’s what we are about. It’s as real as it gets!
