The Circuit
Write of Way, by Suesan Way
will be The Auto Gallery and we are
very pleased to welcome them to this
year’s event.
Once again (and I don’t know how it happens) but it’s again
time to sit down and write my monthly column. I am not
sure where the days, weeks and even months go, but they
sure fly by. I am truly not amused because all of this time
going by is only serving to age me, but, it is also adding great
Porsche Club memories for me along the way!!
It is only the beginning of March and already the Grand
Prix Region is in full swing with events galore. We have been
out and about (pronounced Canadian) like crazy with our
Tour Masters Marty Goldsmith and Jeff Peck making me
dazed and confused with all that they have been up to planning and running tours and loading up our calendar.
Our Palos Verdes Peninsula Tour included a wonderful
lunch, and now there is a Santa Monica Fun Run planned
for March 15th and later in March on the 22nd (see what
I mean about a lot going on) is a visit to a fascinating place
– LA Dismantlers – a place where used Porsche parts get a
second chance to make another Porsche good to go again.
And all of that doesn’t even cover Grand Prix Region’s
March schedule because the Performance Driving Team has
been scoping out sites and planning events. We are doing
our Day Away from Work on Monday March 17th. If that
sounds familiar, it's because it is a Grand Prix tradition that
has been going on for many years where people call in sick
and take the day to get better by going to the track and are
miraculously healed by the next day – this year there are
quite a few ill people already registered.
The person working the hardest is our new GPX Registrar,
Colleen Stein, who has done a remarkable job learning Motorsportreg.com and how to build registrations for all of our
activities. Don’t hesitate to contact Colleen if you are ever
having trouble registering for any of our events. She is a whiz
and a pleasure to work with.
Colleen is going to be a very busy Grand Prix member
because she will soon be adding our Concours d’Elegance to
the site, which will be on May 18th at the stately Lakewood
Country Club. Our concours Co Chairs, Linda Cobarrubias
and Dick Douglass and Head Judge Doc Pryor are already
working putting this year’s event together. Our new sponsor
6
Canadian Geese
Linda and Dick won’t tell anybody much about their plans,
but I do believe that I have heard rumors about Bob Weber
bringing his beautiful Porsche 934.5 out, which is a must see
car. It once raced and now it is a Concours car extraordinaire
– this is a car with wonderful Brumos history, and even if
you are not participating, mark the date on your calendar
and join us for the day to just see the cars and perhaps have
lunch in the dining room. The 934.5 is worth the trip over
and the other cars will just add to your smile.
Of course right around the corner is another of my favorite
events– which is an annual Zone 8 happening – the California Festival of Speed, where all 13 regions pool resources and
person power and put on a wonderful 3 day extravaganza
of amazing racing, time trials, a great vendors row, a Saturday swap meet, Concours d'Elegance, Timeline Display of
4 Cylinder Porsches, and a Porsche for Sale Platz. Saturday
and Sunday there will be Corrals, Lunchtime Track Laps, a
Food Court with LA Food Trucks, Driving Simulators and
Mini Taste of the Autocross and so much more. All happening at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana – Free Admission
and only $10.00 Parking. Friday will have Track Laps but is
mostly a set up day – if you would like to volunteer please go
to http://msreg.com/CFOSVol14
With the Festival this year we will honoring a time in
Porsche’s past with the Fabulous Fifties. Helping this along
was the February edition of the PCA Panorama Magazine,
and the feature article on Ruth Levy Raymond, who was a
driver from the Minnesota who made her way west in her
356 in the mid 50’s all by her lonesome, weighing maybe
105 pounds, as they say soaking wet, with some serious racing
talent, raw guts of steel and a mouth that could stand the
devil on its tail.
Ruth, along with other California racing and mo torsport
history legends will be joining us including: Dusty Brandel,
son of Jack McAfee, Rex McAfee, Bill Pollack, Bob Schilling and Pete Vanlaw will be at the Festival and will make up
a panel on Saturday at 5:00 PM and the whole thing will be
moderated by Zone 8 Chief Driving Instructor, Scott Mann.

Skip Carter
Well, I can't tell you how great it is to have this month's
cover, the painting by Hector Cademartori. Thanks Hector!
PORSCHE PARADE — IF you have never been to the annual Porsche Parade, it is NOT going to get any easier than
this June's event.
has been extremely fun to be back in the saddle again. Last
year, a fairly new club member, Patrick Sloan, started driving his 996 Coupe at our DE events. It was obvious he was
having a good time and was going to do quite a few more.
Knowing he had a good tow vehicle, I suggested that Patrick
consider a dedicated race car. Something he could tow to
and from the track.
It is in Monterey, California. Is there a better, more scenic
place? That's a 300 miles, 4.5 hour drive (if you go direct).
This is not the first time Monterey has hosted Parade. The
last time the event sold out on the first day of registration.
This year is different. Parade Staff, headed by San Diego's
Susan Brown, has figured out a way to register AND FEED
everyone who registers, with no limit.
Drivers who are as enthusiast as Patrick soon want track
tires. Then another set of wheels, then some kind of shelter
at events, to stay out of the sun. Then you need to figure
out how to get that stuff to the track each time. See what
I mean? I knew about a great 944 Spec car that had been
sitting for about a year for sale, but it was not really being
marketed. He took a look, liked it, then asked if I wanted to
partner with him.
So, you might say "What's the rush then. I'll register next
month or..." Well, I will tell you why you need to register on
day 1. There are at least two good reasons that I know of.
It didn't take long for me to realize that this would solve a
long time problem that I really had not thought about.
(continued on page 16)
First — Having a room in the host hotel significantly enhances the Parade experience (in my experience). I've tried it.
I've stayed in nearby but not the host hotel, more than once.
I didn't feel as connected to the event. I'M NOT SAYING
that I didn't have a good time, but it could have been better.
The host hotel is not very large and will only be able to
house a portion of registrants. FIRST COME FIRST
SERVED. The earlier to register, the earlier you get the confirmation email with links to the hotels. You cannot book a
room at the host hotel before this is done.
On the Cover...
Hector Cademartori is a well known artist who has allowed
us to reproduce one of our favorite of his paintings on this
month's cover. There is more about Hector and his work on
pages 12 & 13. We ran into Hector at one of our Fairplex
events, and discovered that he lived close by in LaVerne.
We also found out that he is an avid Chump Car racer
and had actually shared a car with our GPX Chief Driving
Instructor, Mike Mulligan. Small world.
Second — There ARE LIMITS to how many people can go
on different tours. Tours happen to be one of Suesan and my
favorite parts about Parade. We get to see what the people
who live here think is the best to see. The best roads to drive.
The best places to eat. If you want to have your choice about
which tours you can sign up for, you need to register early.
For those of you who have been to a Parade, I don't need to
say anything. Parade information is on pages 10-11.
Our first Performance Driving event of the year is on St.
Patrick's Day at Streets of Willow. After about 12 years of
helping produce these events without having a car to track, it

Porsche Parade 2014: Monterey, California!
Monterey is the site of our 59th Porsche Parade, to be held this June 15 through 21, 2014. This is PCA’s annual extravaganza
of competitive and social events. Only minutes away from the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we’ll be treated to drives on the famous
Pacific Coastal Highway, to some of California’s legendary vineyards, and through the hills and valleys of northern California. Of course, Parade has a long history of friendly competition and that will continue this year with the always challenging
Concours d’Elegance, TSD rally, autocross, and the tech-quiz.
Registration will open on April 1st (new date!), and there will be a link to register on pca.org and parade2014.pca.org. This
Parade will be very popular, but we will accept ALL entries. We can accommodate all entrants for each of the banquets and all
competitive events, as well as most activities. Tours on some days will sell out, however. After finishing registration, you will
receive an email with the link to our host hotels and discount codes. We have blocked rooms at five area hotels.
Parade entrants should check in for Parade on Sunday, June 15 between 9 am and 5 pm. This is the only time when all the
event chair-people will be all together in one place to check you in, answer all your questions, and make sure you have the
banquet seats you want, pick up your meal tickets and are classified properly for the competitive events you’ve entered. That is
when you get your Parade goodie-bags and volunteer t-shirts. Late check-in is available throughout the week, but we recommend getting to Monterey on Sunday.
We have five banquets, our Welcome Party on Sunday the 15th, the Concours banquet on Tuesday, TSD banquet on
Wednesday, AX on Friday, and our Victory banquet on Saturday. You can sign up for all of them, or individually.
If you have questions, please consult the Parade website at Parade2014.pca.org. If you are unable to find your answer there,
email Kathleen Behrens, Parade Registrar at [email protected] or call 503.579.3423 (please leave a message).

The Motor Racing Art of
Hector Cademartori
Our beautiful cover painting (see next
page) is the art of Hector Cadematori.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Hector
became interested in motor racing as a
teenager and was very much influenced
by the European tradition; Fangio, Gonzalez, all the Formula One and Sportscar
stars of the 60s and 70s and the great
racing teams of that era.
Hector started selling his illustrations and
paintings after graduating High School
and moved to the US in 1983 to specialize
in his motor racing art. He started showing his artwork to different people in the
automobile and motorcycle fields and the
rest, as they say, his history.
His clients include racing teams, corporations, magazines and private parties, all
of which help him make a living producing
motor racing art (Ed: Hector created this
year's California Festival of Speed poster)
You’ll find his art from Dan Gurney’s All
american Racers offices to Indianapolis 500 Yearbook covers; Laguna Seca
Raceway, California Speedway and the
Carrera Panamericana posters; the NHRA, foreign and domestic automobile
and motorcycle magazines, motorcycle manufacturers such as Kawasaki USA,
American Honda and Yamaha USA, Toyota Motorsports, TRD, HSR-West and
many others.
"I think that my art was just a vehicle to be around racing. I'm really a racer with a brush", declares Hector, who
races his Datsun 240Z "Ferratsun" around the Southern
California circuits.
Hector lives in La Verne, California with his wife Florencia
and his three children; Eduardo, Florencia and Mercedes.
Ed: See more of Hector's work at http://www.authorsandartists.com/hector/hector.htm

Days of Thunder (1966-1974)
by Hector Cademartori
The Canadian-American Challenge
was established in 1966, sanctioned
by the SCCA and classified as Group
7 by the FIA. The best part of the
rule book was that, well, there was
(almost) no rule book and the result
of this technological freedom were
the most powerful, innovative,
tarmac-pounding, cardiac arrestproducing racing machines on the
face of earth, even faster than the
contemporary Formula One cars.
The series attracted the best of the
fast and the furious and the first
championship went to John Surtees
and Eric Broadley’s Lola T-70-Chevrolet. After that, the boys from down
under (New Zealand it is) took over
and kept a stranglehold on the series
for the next 5 years, from 1967 to
1971. With Bruce McLaren at the wheel, figuratively and
literally, and with lead-foots such as Denny Hulme and Peter
Revson (who joined the team after Bruce’s untimely death
testing at Goodwood one of his M8Ds in June of 1970), the
Kiwi monsters powered by Chevy dominated until Roger
Penske, Mark Donohue and Porsche fine tuned the Can-Am
version of the 917. In 1972 Team Penske’s George Follmer
won the title in an L&M-sponsored 917-10 and at the end of
that season McLaren retired from the Can-Am stage.
In 1973 Penske and Porsche went a step beyond and came up
with a true beast, the 917-30. Sponsored by Sunoco and with
Mark Donohue in the cockpit, nobody could get anywhere
near the blue and yellow car. This version of the twin turbo,
5.4 liter boxer-12, produced in excess of 1,100 horsepower @
7,800 rpm with the normal 1.3-bar boost setting. Now, keep
in mind that the car, fully laden, weighed 2,700 pounds!
Besides the drivers we already mentioned, Jackie Stewart,
Jackie Oliver, Chris Amon, Jim Hall (and his unforgettable Chaparrals), Mario (is there any other Mario?), David
Hobbs, A.J. Foyt, Jody Scheckter, Brian Redman, Dan
Gurney, Pedro Rodriguez, Vic Elford, Jo Siffert and many
other members of the driving royalty of those days filled the
open cockpits.
My painting shows Mark Donohue in Penske Racing’s
Sunoco-Porsche 917-30 at Riverside in 1973 negotiating
Turn 7, and being followed by Brian Redman's 917-10, Jackie
Oliver's UOP Shadow DN-2 and Charlie Kemp in another
917-10.
You do the hp-to-weight ratio math, my friend.
At the end of the season, with no competition (thus, lack of
promotional value) Porsche left the series, which went on for
another year to be cancelled in 1974. Up to this point, the
best teams and race car manufacturers, including Ferrari,
showed up in the starting grids of the most exciting series in
the world at the time, and they hired the best talent available. Any fan of motorsports in those days can attest to that.

Suesan and I usually pull the club trailer, or a van full of
club stuff to our events. There was no way to get a track car
AND everything else to an event. Since I had never really
thought about it before, it wasn't an issue. But as soon as
Patrick made that offer, I realized several things. First, I
believed that Patrick would be an excellent person to partner
with (and so far, so good). Second, since Patrick was willing
to tow the car and trailer to and from the events, I could still
manage the club stuff. Third, at 67 years old, I have no idea
how many years I have left to be able to enjoy performance
driving. So, what the hell!
That was the middle of last year. We've run more than half
a dozen events, mostly together, and it has been a barrel of
fun. Although I've instructed during this dry period, I had
not had a car to track, and that's not the same. As a good
friend said: :it did not take long for your old bad habits to
come back." (LOL). Anyway, I'm having a great time.

Member Spotlight
story by bob & karen lewis
Ron and Nancy Piazza have been PCA and GPX members since April
2002, and are the proud owners of a 1999 996 Carrera. We know the
phrase it’s not the cars; it’s the people is overused, but when you meet
these two people, you understand the true meaning of our club’s doctrine.
Nancy recently participated in a fund raising adventure. The event was
Dancing for Our Stars, a benefit for the Memorial Care Heart & Vascular Institute at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. The commitment Nancy made
to this cause was staggering. It was several months of regular practice with her dance
partner to compete against five other entrants to raise money for the hospital.
The event was held in the Pacific Ballroom at the Long Beach Arena. The night was
festive and entertaining with a cocktail reception followed by a fabulous meal. After
dinner the contestants were judged by comedian Bill Engvall, Environmentalist Justin
Rudd and past participants Jeff Severson and Jeanna
Mingram. Five dance teams and a Long Beach
Memorial Heart Surgeon singing the Rolling Stones
song Miss You entertained the 800 guests at the
Gala.
The results were tallied and the winners were announced. Nancy and her partner were awarded the
Crowd Favorite award, but the real winner was the
Memorial Care Heart & Vascular Institute as the
evening generated $535,000 in donations.
Ron and Nancy have lived in Lakewood for 23 years
and are active in the Ronald McDonald House and
the Long Beach Memorial Auxiliary. It’s great to
have them in our club. Ron is currently a Councilman on the Lakewood City Council.

Book Reviews for Porschephiles
Bruce Herrington
by Bruce Herrington, Orange Coast Region
101 Prohects for Your Porsche 911 1998-2008 996 and 997
by Wayne R. Dempsey, published by Motorbooks, Minneapolis, MN
This book, a part of the Motorbooks Workshop series, is
the third in a series of 101 Projects books written by Wayne
Dempsey of Pelican Parts. It covers the Porsche 911 models
from 1998-2008, eg the 996 and 997 Gen-1 cars.
(Ed: Wayne is a member of the Grand Prix Region).
The author's introduction says “I've made many
mistakes and learned the hard way the best and
worst way to repair, restore and modify these
cars... The projects in this book are written in a
format and style that should empower anyone
to work on his or her car.” Without having tried
each and every one of the projects in the book,
this reviewer is confident that the author has
achieved his goal of producing a comprehensive
and idiot proof guide for the projects included.
101 Projects for Your Porsche 911 gives recommendations for tools to acquire, and lists of additional reference material that would be useful.
As a book intended to introduce the neophyte
into the joys of working on 911s and the satisfaction (and economies) of doing it yourself,
the very first project is Jacking Up Your Car.
Unibody cars like Porsches do not have a multitude of jacking opportunities like older Detroit Iron, so it is important
to know the specific points where jacks can be safely placed
against the Porsche chassis. Jackstand placement can also be
critical to ensure safety. Project 2 is Changing Engine Oil.
The very first do-it-yourself oil change will probably pay for
the book. Projects 3-5 are replacing air filters, fuel filters and
the accessory drive belt. All pretty routine stuff, but essential
maintenance items.
The book is very well illustrated with very clear color photos
of each critical step of each project, annotated with colored
arrows ensuring that the reader is looking at exactly the part
of the picture to which the caption is referring. The individual write-ups are complete and comprehensive and do
not leave out the tricks of the trade that many manuals do,
assuming that the reader (a professional mechanic) already
knows. And those little gotchas that the author learned about
the hard way – they're documented as warnings or look-outfors in the text. Wrench sizes and torque values are often
given in the captions, avoiding the need to search them out
in the text.
22
Yes, the IMS issue is dealt with:
Project 11 is Installing the IMS
Guardian, and Project 14 is Intermediate Shaft Bearing Upgrade, the
latter a very well illustrated 10 page
treatise,
including a
short section on verifying that
cam timing has not been disturbed in the process.
101 Projects for Your Porsche
911is divided into 11 sections
ranging from Basics through Engine, Fuel, Water, Transmission,
Exhaust, Brakes, Suspension,
Body/Interior, to Gauges and
Electrical, and Miscellaneous.
The pages in each section are
marked with a color tab keyed to
a color ladder on the back cover
(another nice touch). Covering over one hundred different
projects allows a range of topics from the very simple to the
very complex – from installing headlight protection film or a
strut brace to engine teardown or window regulator replacement. Key to the value of the book for the average owner is
the coverage of maintenance items — brake bleeding, pad
replacement, coolant replacement, headlight replacement,
etc. etc.
Soft bound, with 312 8-1/2 x 11 pages on glossy paper to
enhance the clarity of the pictures, it is a must have for any
Porsche enthusiast who owns a 996 or 997. Even if one is not
into auto mechanics, the very readable descriptions of the
projects gives the reader a better understanding of how the
cars are built and how they work. Many will succumb to the
inspiration provided, will undertake a project and become
hooked on the feeling of satisfaction that comes from actually participating intimately in the care of the car, not just
the superficialities of driving and washing.
By the time you read this, 101 Projects for Your Porsche 911
should be available for $34.99 from your favorite bookseller
(ask for it), or from http://www.motorbooks.com.

My Cayman S at the GPX February Breakfast
by Jim Hutchinson
“Those guys probably won’t even notice my car. Porsche guys are hard to impress; they all have Porsches!” That is what I said to a friend a couple of days
before the GPX Region Breakfast on February 1.
At the Breakfast I was really surprised
at all of the attention, as a crowd grew
around my Arctic Silver 2008 Cayman
S. Many people gave positive reviews. I
had done a few things to my car since
purchasing it 2 years ago. Most changes
were subtle, such as rear wing and front
splitters from Aerokit. One change not
so subtle was the clear engine cover
that I sourced from HIP Designs.
I wanted to see the motor, a la midengine supercars such as Ferrari and
Lamborghini. After the easy bolt-on
install of the cover, I took the car to Cooper Boggs at Cooper’s Classy Car Care
in Santa Ana for detailing and painting the engine. I had met Cooper at a PCA
meeting for Concours Judging, as he was one of the presenters and a long time
PCA member. Cooper had a unique skill set for this job due to his craftsmanship
in preparing Porsches for Concours: including partial disassembly of engines for deep cleaning, and paint expertise.
The motor turned out great with the engine cleaned and
painted. I then turned to the wheels. I remember when the 911
Sport Classic came out a few years ago. I saw those updated
Fuchs style wheels and said to myself “I have to get this car so
I can have those wheels!” I had to search far though, to find
them in Cayman size. Even Fuchs in California had stopped
making them in a Cayman fitment.
I finally found Fuchs style at Achtuning in Washington and
had them shipped. They come in black center with polished
lip in 19x8.5 and 19x10, for a very reasonable price. I was not
done with them yet though. I, along with many other Porsche
admirers, can remember the 70s and 80s when Porsche would
color-match the Fuch’s on your new Porsche, and it was very
common. So I took the wheels to Eli at Wheel Dynamics in El
Monte for refinishing with color-matched centers and polished
lips and everything clear-coated.
These wheels turned out terrific and really made the car.
Overall, although the modifications to my Cayman S were not
performance oriented, it was nice to be appreciated for these
aesthetic changes in my version of a Cayman S.

The Tilted Kilt waitresses do a good job
highlighting Ceal Howard's 356 Coupe
Our February Breakfast Meeting had about 80 people comfortably
accommodated at the Tilted Kilt. I have to tell you, these people go out of
their way to make us feel welcome. The waitstaff do an excellent job. The
omlette chef obviously takes pride in making a good omlette for you.
A special treat this month was Dale Okuno, the Tilted Kilt owner, bringing
down his yellow 1970 914-6. I'm partial to 914s, and an original 914-6 is
even more special. This one is a great driver and one that Dale obviously
enjoys owning and driving. Before breakfast was done, Dale became the
newest member of the Grand Prix Region. Thanks Dale!
As usual, we had lots of door prizes and everyone seemed pretty happy
to be spending a nice Saturday morning with Porsche friends.

Tech Notes from Tony Callas & Tom Prine
Mixing Tires
Automobile tires really should not be mixed on any
vehicle unless it is specifically identified as being
okay by the vehicle manufacturer. On this subject,
when it comes to Porsche, they are very much opposed to mixing tires under any situation. Mixing
tires with different tread patterns, rubber compounds, internal design structure or incorrect sizes
can yield very drastic handling differences.
Unfortunately, this fact usually becomes apparent
to the driver at the worst possible moment (and
most unexpectedly), when they are
forced to make an emergency lane
change as in an accident avoidance
maneuver when traction, responsiveness and vehicle control is tested
to the limit.
This issue of mixing tires comes
up most often when two of the
tires (either front or rear axle) are
in much better condition than
those on the other end of the car
which are substantially worn and
require immediate replacement.
Then, when one goes to replace
the two worn tires, it is discovered that the matching brand
and model tire is no longer available. It is tempting to buy
another make and model tire to save a lot of money instead
of purchasing a full set, but in doing so one could be setting
themselves up for a serious issue in the future.
Most Porsche owners want a strong high performance tire so
that they can enjoy the traction and cornering performance
potential of the car. Some may prefer the slightly softer ride
of an all season tire, but an all season tire has very different
handling characteristics than those of a high performance
tire. If these are mixed and driven aggressively, the car will
exhibit some very bad handling behaviors.
One of our customers recently had a similar situation on
his 1996, 993 C4. His tires were the Michelin Pilot Sport
A/S. These are a two generation old version of the Pilot
Sport performance all season tire. There was no exact match
since the tire was discontinued. The customer liked driving
aggressively and wanted to start attending driver education
(DE) events also. He wanted to keep the two good tires on
26
the front and replace the rears. We
explained that this would certainly
exemplify the difference in handling
characteristics (as noted above). We
suggested that replacing all four tires
with the Bridgestone S-04 Pole Position (which is a very strong performer) would give him the performance he wanted.
In the end he was very happy and said the car had
never handled this good.
We also recommend getting a four wheel alignment on the car when you purchase new tires.
This is especially true if there is an unusual wear
pattern on the existing tires such as heavy wear on
the inner or outer shoulder of the tire or if one or
more tires exhibit wear characteristics that are not consistent with the
others. We generally recommend
a four wheel alignment every two
years as we tend to forget those pot
holes and parking lot tire stops we
hit just a little too hard.
Also, ask your mechanic to inspect
the tires whenever your car is being
serviced. For this work we recommend taking the car to a professional Porsche shop that specializes
in suspension and alignment work.
Have them check the suspension
for any problems and align the car. If you choose to align the
car with a more aggressive handling setup, you will shorten
the life span of your tires but will gain a more responsive
handling car. For most owners, we would recommend the
factory alignment settings as these generally have the least
amount of compromises for the street.
Enjoy your Porsche

Hospitality Tent
Sunday, March 2
Phoenix Club in Anaheim
For 30 years Southern California has hosted the LA Lit and Toy Show (www.LALitandToyShow.com), a world class, exceptional place to buy / sell / trade things vintage Porsche (and Vintage VW) — books, models, parts, toys, literature and more.
The days around the Lit Meet are made more exciting with Open Houses at various Vintage Porsche shops. The big finale is
Sunday at the So Cal All-Porsche Swap and Car Display held at the Phoenix Club (1340 South Sanderson, Anaheim).
Grand Prix Region will have our usual Hospitality Tent. Stop by and say "hello."
Suesan is looking for volunteers to work 2-hour shifts on Sunday — [email protected] or (619) 992-4287
Event sponsor, the 356 Club of Southern California will have indoor vendor displays in the FestHalle, plus 2 acres of vendors and swappers, and a grass soccer field for car corrals (Previous years parking problems have been solved). This event takes us
back to a simpler time in a very unique setting; to a time when the Internet was not your primary source for used Porsche parts;
a time when the local Southern California Porsche owner's gathered each winter
to swap, fender fondle, see old friends and appreciate the breed. There will be
vendors dedicated to our Porsche hobby and plenty of swap space will be available.
If you have a car for sale, bring it, put a sign in the window and sell it.
Porsche cars donate $20 for display parking, so pile your friends in! Gates open to
Porsche parking at 8 AM. Seeing all the Porsche's parked there will be incredible!
The walk-in gate opens at 8:00 and admission is $10. Breakfast and lunch with a
German flavor are available. Be sure you stop by the Bierstube. Accommodations
are at Ayres Suites, Anaheim, 2550 E. Katella Ave (714) 634-2106.
Swappers make a $40 donation per space - first come first served. Indoor vendor space is $80 per space (must be reserved by Feb 15). Contact Bob Lee at [email protected] or (619) 518-8645 for vendor
info. Swapper/vendor gates open at 6:00. A portion of the proceeds
goes to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (http://www.cff.org/).
We look forward to seeing you and your Porsche. Bring whatever
money you have leftover from the Lit Meet, your Porsche, Porsche
friends and join us for a celebration of Porsche!
