In the fall 2004, a group of local men gathered to figure out a way to raise funds to help build the Arlington Youth Sports Complex. Out of that meeting, it was decided to host a Wild Game Feed. On Saturday, March 5, 2005, the First Wild Game Feed was held. The second Wild Game Feed was intended to be the final one in support of construction of the Sports Complex. However, the group thought the Wild Game Feed would be a great annual fundraiser in support of all youth in our community. To achieve this goal, the men decided to make the group a formal, more permanent, organization with an official name, the Arlington Youth Foundation, and 501(c)3 designation. As a few more game feeds came and went with great success, the organization grew as well. We started hosting Mentored Youth Deer Hunts, Hunter Ed Classes, Wild Game Hunts, and offering scholarships and grants. We began meeting at least monthly. It has been beneficial to have our new location in Nickerson to hold meetings, prepare and store the wild game being donated for the annual game feed, host our education classes and provide a place for youth organizations to have meetings, small banquets or awards nights. As we move onto our 12th Annual game feed, our goal has always been, and still is, to be located in the Arlington area. Our current location is a bridge to get us there. So if you, or if you know anyone, who might assist us in finding property in the Arlington area, please speak with one of our members. The members of the Arlington Youth Foundation have and always will be a part of Arlington. A permanent structure in Arlington would help us solidify that commitment. ARLINGTON YOUTH FOUNDATION WILD GAME FEED The Wild Game Feed is our primary fundraising event. Through our program advertising, monetary donations, auctions and raffles — we are able to give back to the youth in our community. It is because of your generosity that we are able to contribute so much. Thank you for your continued support! ARLINGTON YOUTH FOUNDATION GAME HUNT Much of the game cooked and prepared for tonight’s feed is gathered through the annual AYF Game Hunt the first Saturday in December. For information about entering a team in the 2016 hunt, please contact an AYF member.
