What to Expect Each Night
Game Time
The Game Time is full of excitement and fun. Sparks and T&T clubbers compete on the specially
designed game circle. AWANA games are not only fun, but strive to teach sportsmanship and
teamwork. Leaders are assigned to each team to keep the competition friendly and the atmosphere
controlled. All clubbers should wear athletic type shoes for Game Time.
Handbook Time
T&T clubbers have the opportunity to recite verses they have studied at home, or receive personal
assistance in studying their AWANA handbook at their own pace. T&T clubbers are not limited to the
number of sections they complete per night.
Sparks may either recite verses they have studied at home or work on their sections as a group
(depending on the age). Sparks working on their section in a group will all learn the same section. If
a Spark misses a section they can make it up on their own, or just skip it and go on with the rest of
the group. Sparks are not limited to the number of sections they complete per night.
Cubbies will work on their sections as a group, and all will learn the same section. If a Cubbie misses
a section they can make it up in future weeks.
As clubbers progress through their handbooks they earn awards which are to be displayed on their
uniform. Sparks and T&T also earn "AWANA Bucks" which can be
used at the AWANA store on special nights.
Council Time (Story Time)
During the Council Time, Bible truths are presented in story form.
The focus is to communicate the Word of God in a manner that
each clubber can understand.
Club Membership
When a child comes to AWANA for the first time, parents are required to complete a Medical
Release Form, which will provide emergency information if it is needed. If this form is not completed,
the child may not be eligible to participate in Game Time.
Each age group has an Introduction Booklet or Page which is given free of charge to children when
they come to club for the first time. Once this has been completed, clubbers have earned the right to
become a member.
Club members are required to purchase a uniform and handbook, and to pay dues to be able to
continue in the club. Dues may be paid for a full year, which offers a saving over the weekly rate.
The AWANA Secretary keeps a limited supply of uniforms and books on hand and they may be
purchased at the beginning of the club night. Handbooks are available in the NIV. Awards are
given free of charge as the appropriate sections are passed in the handbooks, but replacements for
lost awards may have a charge.

AWANA Behavior Standards
1. All clubbers are expected to participate in the entire club program (handbook time, game
time and council time).
2. When any leader begins the AWANA "5-count", all clubbers are expected to be quiet and
ready to listen for instruction.
3. There will be no rough play at any time including outside, before or after club.
4. Everyone should show respect for others. Coarse language will not be tolerated and is
grounds for removal from club.
5. No clubber is permitted to leave the church grounds during club time without permission
from the Director or Commander.
6. Clubbers and leaders are expected to wear their Awana uniform to each club meeting. The
goal of each Awana Club is to have 100% of its attendees in uniform. A properly worn
uniform helps Awana clubbers and leaders earn respect and credibility.
7. Our AWANA club follows a "3-count" discipline policy for not following club behavior
standards:
a. Warning from Director
b. Counseling from Commander
c. Parents are called
8. Care and respect should be shown for church property.

AWANA Key Verse
II Timothy 2:15
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly
dividing the word of truth."
AWANA Theme Song
Firmly AWANA stands, led by the Lord's commands.
Approved workmen are not ashamed, boys and girls for His service claimed!
Hail! AWANA! on the march for youth; Hail! AWANA! holding forth the truth.
Building lives on the Word of God; AWANA stands! Our Savior following, with steps unfaltering,
and love unaltering, His praise we sing.
His banner over us, in service glorious, we'll fight victorious for Christ our King!
YOUTH ON THE MARCH!
Cubbies Theme Song
We are AWANA Cubbies, we’re happy all day long.
We know that Jesus loves us! That’s why we sing this song.
We hop because we’re happy and we jump and shout for joy.
For Jesus is a friend to us.
He loves each girl and boy.
Spark Theme Song
We are “Sparks” for Jesus, “Sparks” to light the world,
We will shine for Jesus as we tell each boy and girl!
We will hide God’s Word in our hearts;
We will serve Him right from the start;
From His love we never can part for we are
“Sparks!” “Sparks!” “Sparks!” “Sparks!” “Sparks” to light the world.
AWANA Pledge
I pledge allegiance to the AWANA flag which stands for the AWANA clubs, whose goal is to reach
boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.
Pledge of Allegiance
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands.
One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
