PRODUCT CATALOGUE 2014 1 Modern factory for the production of complex mineral fertilizers Elixir Zorka from Šabac was founded as a result of an investment worth over EUR 38.5 mil initiated in 2011, whereas the production of mineral fertilizers started in the middle of 2013. The revitalization of the former Chemical Industry Zorka Mineral Fertilizers and the construction of the technologically modern and environmentally safe facility were made in cooperation with renowned and licensed domestic and foreign companies, specialized in designing and constructing chemical facilities. Installed equipment and technology is in accordance with BAT standard for the production of NPK fertilizers, and the processes are in accordance with the HAZOP system of analysis. All available resources are directed towards the fulfillment of the strictest standards in order to minimize health dangers and to eliminate negative impacts the environment. Elixir Zorka products fully meet all the requirements prescribed by the provisions of legal regulations of the Republic of Serbia (Law on plant nutrition products and soil enhancers), as well as those prescribed by the European legislation (EC 2003/2003) on the methods of circulation of mineral fertilizers on the territory of the EU. Free circulation of mineral fertilizers in the EU has been enabled by establishing “EC FERTILISER” for the product and by registration of substances which are constituent parts of the product, all in accordance with the Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 “REACH” – Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals. Elixir Zorka made the registration pursuant to the regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 – “REACH” of substances which are constituent parts of the product. At the beginning of the year 2014, the implementation of the following standards was initiated: ISO 9001:2008 ISO 14001:2004 OHSAS 18001:2007 SA 8000:2008 ISO/IEC 17025:2005 2 Quality Management System Environmental Management System Occupational health and safety management systems Performance assessment General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories Designed capacity of the factory for the production of mineral fertilizers Elixir Zorka amounts 350.000 t/y for NPK, NP, PK facility (1100 tons/day), whereas for the facility for the production of powder simple phosphoric fertilizers SSP and TSP the designed capacity amounts 300.000 t/y (1.000 tons/day). The factory Elixir Zorka is located in the Eastern industrial zone of Šabac, on 98th km of the Sava River waterway. It has the port for loading and unloading of cargo ships. A contemporary traffic artery with four lanes runs along the eastern zone which is connected to the regional roads M-19 and M-21. A railroad runs through the entire complex which is connected to the Serbia railway network. State-of-the-art technological solutions in the production of complex mineral fertilizers enable that produced formulations have a high concentration of nutritive elements, high water-solubility and equal granulation. In this way we ensure proper distribution of nutritive elements to plants and achieve maximum production results. 3 COMPLEX MINERAL FERTILIZERS Complex fertilizers are fertilizers during the production of which a chemical reaction occurs among the components which react reciprocally, whereby a homogenous product of uniform composition is created, representing certain chemical compounds. Some basic characteristics of complex fertilizers, which distinguish them from complex-mixed ones, are the fineness of granulation, Granules hardness and equal content of nutritive elements in each Granules. Complex fertilizers are produced in two ways: By direct chemical reaction of ammonium, phosphoric and sulphuric acid in tube reactor with addition of potassium salts during granulation. By dissolution of raw phosphates by sulphuric and/or phosphoric acid, after which ammonium or potassium salts are added to generated compounds. The produced complex fertilizers may be double (NP, PK, NK) or triple (NPK). Elixir Zorka uses the following raw materials as the source of nutritive elements for the production mineral fertilizers: Sources of nitrogen: ammonium, ammonium-nitrate, ammonium-sulphate and urea Sources of phosphorus: phosphoric acid, superphosphates (SSP and TSP) and ammonium-phosphates (MAP and DAP) Sources of potassium: potassium-chloride and potassium-sulphate All elements that have favorable effects on growth and development of plants are classified as nutritive elements.
