The Fleming County Show and Sale was started in 1942. Originally,
a beef only program the first exhibitors showed at the stockyards in
November. The late show allowed buyers to slaughter their pur­
chae in the cool weather. The show moved to the high school cam­
pus in 1982 when the tobacco bam was built. The show was held in
the carpentry shop until 2001 when the new Agriculture Barn was
constructed. Lambs were first exhibited in 1989. In 2005 the hog
show discontinued at the Ewing Fair and hogs were exhibited and
sold at the show and sale along with beef and Iambs. 2011 was the
first year for goats at the show and sale. Today we continue to grow
and polish Fleming County's Show and Sale. As we improve the
genetic:s of our stock we hope that students learn life lessons
through livestock exhibition.
