GTi AMPLIFIERS
JBL Mobile and Crown® International,
the world’s leading manufacturer
of commercial and live-concert
amplification, have added a new
chapter to car audio history with the
introduction of the most powerful and
technically advanced amplifiers ever
produced for in-vehicle use.
GTi amplifiers are the first car audio
amps to use Crown’s Balanced Current
Amplification (BCA) circuitry. Until now,
all car amplifiers have been based on the
old time-alternating Class B circuit – one
device shuts off and another one turns
on. Time alternation creates distortion,
especially in switching amplifiers. The
A6000GTi and the A3000GTi are the first
switching amplifiers for cars that break
the Class B mold. The positive and
negative devices operate simultaneously.
No alternation means no zero-crossing
distortion. Visit www.crownaudio.com
for details.
• You get all the features you’d expect in
a state-of-the-art subwoofer amplifier –
slope-selectable, variable low-pass
filter; variable phase control; full-range
preamp outputs; remote bass-level
control; Dynamic Bass Optimization
(DBO) variable high-pass filter with
Variable Q; 50mm2 power and ground
connections; and current and voltage
indicator lights help you to optimize
the amp to drive any load.
• Internal lighting – The A6000GTi’s
interior is fully illuminated to show off
its massive components and beautiful
layout. The lighting is connected by a
dedicated power terminal, allowing it
to be controlled externally.
• Indicator control bank – The A6000GTi
comes equipped with a sophisticated
indicatory bank which can be used as
an effective tool when setting up the
amplifier, as well as monitoring it
during operation. Maximum peak
power is nearly 17hp (horsepower).
When the two channels in the elegant
A6000GTi subwoofer amplifier are
bridged, 120V RMS is available to drive
the speakers with a current capacity of
50 amperes. In bridged mode, channel
gains are precisely matched, internally
ensuring optimum performance. The
A6000GTi will deliver 6,000 watts into
speaker system impedances between
3 and 6 ohms.

• Direct-Connect – Allows the use of
50mm2 power and ground cable to
ensure that enough juice is being
delivered. No need for adapters or
special fittings.
• Unprecedented system-building
flexibility – Unlike conventional mono
subwoofer amplifiers that deliver
their maximum power into a single
impedance, the A6000GTi is a twochannel amplifier that can be bridged
to deliver double the voltage of a
single channel into impedances
between 2 and 4 ohms. The two
channels can also be connected in
parallel – that’s right, parallel – to
provide double the current of a single
channel into impedances below
2 ohms. This patented* feature is
unprecedented in car audio
amplification. Thanks, Crown.

applications. When combined with
the A6000GTi for subs, the result
is nothing less than amazing
performance.
The A3000GTi delivers all of the
features you would expect from a
state-of-the-art amplifier: a slopeselectable, variable electronic
crossover; variable phase control;
full-range preamp outputs’ remotelevel control; Dynamic Bass

GTi SUBWOOFERS
• Kevlar®-impregnated paper woofer
cones – This combination has been
chosen for its high strength-toweight ratio, and is formed using a
proprietary manufacturing process.
Its stiffness relieves stress
concentrations that may accumulate
at the base of the cone in high-power
and high-pressure applications.
• Nitrile-butylene-rubber one-piece
surround and gasket – This material
provides an optimum blend of
elasticity and internal damping. The
size of the roll was optimized to offer
good long-throw linearity with the
proper amount of control and stability
at excursion limits.
• Proprietary die-cast frame – The thickwall construction offers ample rigidity
to support the heavy motor structure,
and its vented architecture provides
greater movement of air behind the
cone and spider for maximum cooling.
• Vented polepieces – Additional cooling
is provided to the motor structure. The
subwoofer’s thermal capabilities are
augmented, increasing power handling.
• Progressive spider – This provides
better control at excursion limits than
a linear spider. The benefit is reduced
distortion at high output levels.

Tweeter level control – With a slider
switch mounted right on the faceplate,
adjustment of tweeter output level is
easy, even in coaxial and three-way
models (except GTO427, GTO327 and
GTO6427). This is a feature typically
reserved for component systems or
speakers with outboard networks.

Next-generation Grand Touring®
loudspeakers from JBL deliver great
audio performance for consumers
looking to upgrade their factory system
or build a world-class competition ride.
Grand Touring’s Plus One woofer cones
provide maximum speaker cone area
in any factory location, and 2-ohm
impedance maximizes the power
available from nearly any amplifier.
That’s a combination of features with
real-world advantages that isn’t available
from anyone but JBL. GTO – a great
choice for optimizing performance in
any system, from mild to wild.
Plus One® (patent pending) woofer cones –
Each GTO model has more cone area than
competing models that fit the same factory
location, providing increased efficiency and
better bass output.
2-Ohm impedance – Extracts all the power
from amplifiers that are designed to
increase their power when driving 2 ohms.
Get all the amplifier power you’ve paid for
with GTO.
Edge-driven My-Ti™ tweeters (Mylar®/
titanium composite) – Stiff, light and
extremely efficient, JBL’s new My-Ti
tweeters deliver the high-frequency
extension of titanium domes with the
damping of composite diaphragms. The
25mm (1") edge-driven domes (all models
except 87mm [3-1/2"], 100mm [4"] and
4" x 6") provide more heat-dissipating
voice coil surface area for higher power
handling, and make possible lower
crossover frequency, for a better transition
from the midrange to tweeter. GTO
speakers are smooth-sounding, no
matter how loudly they play.
Unipoint™ rotating tweeter – The tweeter is
mounted at a 15-degree angle and can be
rotated 350 degrees to point at the listening
position, for optimal high-frequency
response in speakers mounted in off-axis
factory locations.
Built-in crossovers – Integrated highand low-pass filters (except GTO427,
GTO327 and GTO6427) provide a
smoother transition between the
midrange and tweeter.
Low-Q design – For improved bass
extension and better transient response
in infinite-baffle applications (doors and
rear package tray).
Intermount III – This mounting system
(on all 160mm [6-1/2"] models) allows for
installation in nearly all 6" factory locations
without additional adapters or kits.
New, shallow I-Mount™ – Improved I-Mount
(patent no. 5,859,917) tweeter-mounting
system requires less space behind the
mounting surface. The component tweeter
can be aimed at the listening position for
more uniform high-frequency response
between left and right channels.
