T-models
Two different balls
were used in the final:
Argentina supplied
the first-half ball
(the 'Tiento') and led
2–1 at the break; hosts
Uruguay supplied the
second-half ball (the 'TModel' which was larger
and heavier)and won 4–
2.
ECAS
The Federale 102
ball was composed
by 13 polygonal
panels which were
cut and perfectly
fitted together by
hand sewing. Most
of the classic balls
at that time were
12 panel models
(like the ones used
4 years ago in the
first World Cup)
but the Federale 102
brought an invention
of having the laces
on a separate panel
to inflate the balls.
Refs
The Allen ball was very
similar to the „Federale
102” because it also
consisted of 13 panels.
However, the edges of
the panels of the Allen
ball were much more
rounded.However, the
manufacturer maintained
the developments of
the Federale 102 and
the laces were put on a
separate, thin panel.

in Soho Square.
Adidas
Telstar was the first 32panel black-and-white
ball used in the FIFA
World Cup finals. Only
20 were supplied by
adidas. A brown ball
(Germany-Peru) and a
white ball (first half of
Italy-Germany) were
used in some matches.
Adidas
The ball was made
high quality, hand
sewn leather panels,
having exactly the
same panel structure
as its predecessor.
The sphericity was
perfect as possible
and they used the
latest generation latex
rubber valve.
Adidas
This ball was
identically constructed
to the previous World
Cup ball, the Telstar
from 1974. It was
composed of 32 hand
sewn leather panels
and covered by the
Durlast coating. The
design consisted of 20
black and promptly
curved triangles, each
one printed onto the
white coloured surface
of each hexagonal
panel.

The Teamgeist is a 14panel ball. Each match at
the World Cup finals had
its own individual ball,
printed with the date of
the match, the stadium
and the team names.[12]
It was replaced for the
final match by the goldcoloured Teamgeist
Berlin.
Adidas
The Adidas Teamgeist
ball was truly
innovative. The panels
that composed it were
laid out on 2 main
layers that surrounded
the inner bladder
forming a perfect shell.
Adidas
This ball has 8 panels.
The ball for the final
matchwas the gold
Jo'bulani (picture on
the left), which was
named after "Jo'burg",
a standard South
African nickname
for Johannesburg, site of
the final.
Adidas
It consisted of 8
innovative welded panels,
4 minor triangles and 4
bigger ones, which gave
the ball a perfect
spherical shape never
before achieved. The
panel surface was a 3D
non slip compound called
Grip and Groove or
commonly known as
goose skin.
Adidas
This is the first FIFA
World Cup ball named
by the fans. The ball
has been made of six
polyurethane panels
which have been
thermally bonded.
