We hope they learned a lot and I know the team of managers they work with are the best in the industry. From overseas we hired students from Russia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Montenegro, and Serbia and have made new friends with these students who come to America to engage in our culture, make some money and learn the language. They will all be missed and have left their mark. We hope they learn, most of all, that we are a hard working people and that our politicians and all the heady foreign news is not what regular working America is all about. General Manager Mike Schenk Fall Thoughts from MPS It was early morning at CIC and I was on my bike, starting my early routine of checking the CIC pools, tennis courts and just general grounds, when it suddenly occurred to me what I already knew but had not taken note of and that is how many moving parts there are to this beautiful facility. • Tim Glovinsky an employee of over 25 years raising the flags •Rueben on the grounds crew mowing the banks near the Harbor Room • Rod gearing up his cart for dock maintenance •Several members of the dock staff team manning their deck brushes to start on boat washes •Jeremy, assistant golf course superintendant, checking on number 17 pin placement •Tom Letterhos and Jeremiah watering the many floral plantings on the property •Bethany McNutt gearing up for our annual Youth Week with 14 children in tow •Chuck, a member of housekeeping, working with his team to pick up the inside of the clubhouse before opening for breakfast •JoAnn and Kathie sorting thru party sheets for the upcoming week to prepare for staff meeting on Thursday; sometimes up to 30 events per week •Peter from Slovakia opening the pool, checking the chemical readings and then off to the restrooms for cleaning • Teresa in the kitchen hovering over box lunches for Mr. Schmidt • Chaney Davila in at 5 a.m. to bake the cinnabuns for the Dock Shop •The Marina team, like Scott and Jim, heading towards their first boat assignment of the day These are just a few of the moving parts here on property and there are hundreds more but what a team of professionals for sure. We hope you enjoy their work each and every day. 2 Summer has closed and it went quickly for sure. We hope you made many family memories and make plans to be with us this Fall for clambakes, and entertainment like Colin Dussault for our end of season pool party on Sunday, September 7. We do a car show and doggie swim, poolside food and wine and more; so make plans to capstone the summer and be there, dog in hand or on a leash, like Dick Thompson and his mighty dog Guinness. Friday, September 5, is “Roll out The Red Carpet Party” with Billy Donato for Stein Hospice of Northwest Ohio. This is a $90 ticketed event with entertainment, wine and beer stations and a Hollywood Strolling supper. Please see the front desk for tickets and for all the fun you can imagine. Remember to dress for the Red Carpet!!! Summer Musings: •The pie eating contest was phenomenal with pie and whipped cream everywhere and the Birds granddaughter Sophie winning that and the sack race that day •Tom Schmidt and the legend of the carbon monoxide detectors •Mr. Vadini had his family here for 5 days and on the way out the comments were… “ we cannot wait until next year” and “we created many family memories”. •Mr. Hanson, Mr. Cohen, Mr. Trompeter and Mr. Lentz all meeting in front of the club spontaneously when we lost our internet and cable to a Time Warner equipment failure. And yes, they were lost. What do we do? Where do we go? And, by the way, it was a gorgeous day. The sun was shining and I am thinking how about a seat by the water and just enjoy. •The boys and girls from the “Hood” on a GEMINI ride and not wanting to leave and a record breaking bar was served that day, by the way. •Engagement time for Ian Thomas even though it rained, and for Gabriel Latham a beautiful day and right on the CIC pier the proposal was launched and, yes, success for all parties right here at CIC • Cheryl Cooper - thanks for the cow bell • Mr. Rose pointing out I was doing my Jim Stouffer duties •Tim Higdon claiming his team would be 9 under at the turn and I am thinking I heard they were 6 over at that point. We had a great season and hope to see you around the club in the fall and winter. We are still your home away from home, MPS 15 Operating Schedules The Main Dining Rooms Breakfast Lunch Dinner Monday Closed Closed Closed Tuesday Closed Closed Closed Wednesday Closed 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday Closed 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Friday Closed 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.* Saturday 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. Off Menu12:00 - 3:00 p.m. 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.* Sunday 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. Brunch 9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. 1:30 - 8:00 p.m. *(serving until 10 p.m. in the Cove Bar) Dining Specials Wednesdays:½ bottle of wine ½ price, Pot Roast night, plus kids eat for free.
