What this means is that you must have your music or performance on a thumb-drive or on a CD so that we can access it using our computers. Do not bring iPods or iPhones because we cannot pull music off either of these. j j We encourage all performances to have their speaking audio prerecorded. It’s not required, but that may change in the future. j j Our tech staff reserves the right to edit or cut portions of your presented audio with or devices without special software or equipment and without your notice. Please clearly define start and stop times on all music files. If you are unable to edit them yourself, you must provide a clearly typed document with the editing times and bring it with you to your judging time. Handwritten notes will not be accepted. If you are unable to provide a note, play will begin from the beginning of the first available track or file presented. Our tech staff will provide basic cutting only! Advanced editing must be done on your own time as there will not be time during judging. j j If you are or were a member of Daisho Con Staff for the 2014 Conference Year, you cannot enter the contest. If you have made costumes for other people who might be competing, they can enter the contest, but they cannot win any awards. j j If half or more of the currently competing group has won Best in Show the year before, the group cannot win Best in Show for the current year, but they are able to win in any other category. Cosplayers cannot win the same award 2 years in a row. 29 Cosplay Contest j j The Judges reserve the right to bump you up or down a Craftsmanship level if they feel it is necessary. j j If you are not a cosplayer that is participating in the Contest, you are not allowed to loiter outside or be in the Green Room. Please take care of any business you may have with the contestants outside of this area before 5:15pm. To make this run smoothly, we need the Green Room to be organized and free of unnecessary persons. The ever-vigilant hero of Daisho, Stevie Musashi, is set to appear at the convention. But when the time comes, Stevie is nowhere to be found. A mysterious letter is delivered to the Con Directors from an organization known as the D4C, claiming that they have taken Stevie hostage. In Year 2, the face of the D4C is revealed as the villain Darth Esknegreb and his hapless assistant Red Shirt. The duo revealed that Stevie has indeed been captured and was being held in a bathroom stall. The other heroes of Daisho, Daisho Ninja and Corporate Fanboy, worked frantically to track down the dog-eared samurai and were eventually able to free him. Dissonance formed between our heroes as Year 3 erupts into Civil War. Corporate Fanboy became suspicious of Daisho Ninja, believing that she was scheming to take Stevie away from him. The arguing escalated and drove Corporate Fanboy into the arms of a malicious organization led by a man called the CEO. Using a mind control device, the CEO attempted to overpower the other two heroes, but was thwarted when Corporate Fanboy resisted enough to defeat him at the cost of his life. In Year 4, Corporate Fanboy returned as a cyborg weapon called Zealot created by an unknown person. He appeared as Stevie and Daisho Ninja were dealing with Darth Esknagreb’s latest plot to take over Daisho Con; miniature mind control devices hidden inside badges. Esknagreb was easily defeated, but Zealot proved to be a remarkable foe. The battle was only won when Zealot realized his true self as Corporate Fanboy and self-destructed in order to save his friends. Year 5 introduced a new threat to Daisho Con in the form of an overlyobsessed Stevie fan girl by the name of Mary Sue, who possessed an incredibly powerful pen that made all she had written to come true provided it was in the form of a fan fiction. Mary Sue believed that Daisho Ninja was the only obstacle between her and Stevie, and tried to get rid of her through any means necessary. However, true love managed to defeat her in the form of her new boyfriend, Gary Stu. 66 67 Story Synopsis In Year 6, the mantle of Daisho Ninja was finally being passed down to the next generation. However, the ceremony was interrupted by Esknagreb, who declared via a long-winded speech, that he had new plans to take over Daisho. Before he could get far, a mysterious figure was revealed. A young woman who called herself Pandora boldly stated that she would become the new Daisho Hero. As her first act of heroism, Pandora stabbed Esknegreb in the back, leading to his death. A distraught Red Shirt vowed that he would avenge his master ’s death by destroying the Con. Due to her extremist ideas, Pandora was rejected by Stevie and Daisho Ninja to be a hero. Pandora was later found by Red Shirt, who revealed that Esknagreb wasn’t the one he truly worked for, and that his employers only known as the Corporation wished to offer her a job. Pandora willingly accepted, and headed off with Red Shirt to find her destiny elsewhere… Be sure to be present at Opening Ceremonies (Friday, 4PM), the Cosplay Contest(Saturday, 6PM), and Closing Ceremonies(Sunday, 3PM) to catch the next parts of the thrilling Daisho Story!
