Page 2 AGENCY NEWS Five AIC Staff Members Receive Statewide Quality Assurance Awards The awards were given by Community Solutions, which runs the QA Program for Connecticut’s Court Support Services Division. The following staff were awarded: Mark Redding, Waterbury AIC: Role Model Award; Anthony Carter, Manchester AIC: Program Champion for both R&R and TAD and Role Model Award; Camille Heslop, Manchester AIC: Program Champion for Moving On and Role Model Award; Lourdes Ortiz, Waterbury AIC: Program Champion for Motivational Interviewing and Daniel Hall, Hartford AIC Washington Street: Role Model Award. Burley held different positions within different programs at CPA and was a great asset to all he met in his career at the agency. Staff at the Hartford AIC celebrated his retirement with a gathering on April 24, 2015. We wish him well in his future endeavors! Page 3 PROGRAM & AGENCY NEWS Renovations at MAIC The Manchester AIC has been undergoing a few renovations. The building’s new landlord has taken care of needed repairs and renovations inside and outside. We are happy to share the before and after of the renovations. Harriet Beecher Stowe Center’s Salons at Stowe: Unlearning Unconscious Bias CPA’s Executive Director Maureen Price-Boreland was among the featured guests at the Stowe Center on April 16, 2015 discussing the topic Unlearning Unconscious Bias. She was joined by Andrew Clark of the Institute for Municipal and Regional Policy. The conversation was moderated by Deborah Ullman, of the YWCA Hartford Region. All CPA programs participated in the campaign, which means CUPACAKE Party for every program!!!! With your help, CPA raised $4,118.59 The following programs had 100% STAFF participation and will get a pizza party: Hartford AIC Prison Arts SOAR Hartford AIC at Windsor St. Resettlement BRAVE Hartford Community Court SAGE Waterbury AIC Winners of the Individual Donation Raffle are: 1.
