HYPERLITE X JOSH THORSEN
THE MILKCART
Josh Thorsen is an illustrator and graphic designer living on the Gold Coast. As a child of the eighties it’s clear to see that his work is heavily influenced by his childhood love of classic cartoons, skateboarding
culture, comics and anime. Josh’s earlier work exploded with bold color palettes giving life to goonish characters and the world in which they were created, leaving the viewer experiencing nothing short of an
LSD flashback. Consistently producing original, inspiring work since the late 1990’s, Josh has firmly cemented his position within the Australian lowbrow art and sneaker culture scene. He is regularly invited
to participate in live paint installations and has exhibited in and curated solo and group shows worldwide. Josh has collaborated with some of Australia’s leading streetwear labels and stores to develop clothing
ranges, interior installations and branding including Mambo, Laced Sneaker Culture, Scribe Outlined, Sneak & Destroy, TRNRS and has also been featured in numerous publications including Semi Permanent
(Aus), We Are The Image Makers, World Wide Designers (France) Peak Street Magazine, Colorink (USA), Libertine and Out4Fame. Josh is truly an all rounder, able to execute from concept to production on
digital and traditional projects ranging from branding and identity to hand painted murals and installations.
HYPERLITE X AESTHETIC APPARATUS
THE UNION
We call Aesthetic Apparatus a “commercial art and printmaking studio.” But what does that mean? On the surface, it means our work is a bit too commercial for “fine art”, and our studio is a bit too messy for
“graphic design.” On a deeper level it also means that we have recognized a tendency towards expansion in many studio practices, and see a creative price often paid for unchecked growth. So we designed an
intentionally small design studio, and included our small-scale printmaking discipline within it to seal the deal. But balance is important. We’re not puritans. We love the tactility of ink on paper, and we also
love the shared cultural experience of a well-executed national campaign. Of course, when we’re called on to collaborate on such a campaign, the caller would not find themselves in any automated phone system.
So are we artists? Inescapably, yes. We feel that emotional tug to create work that reflects our ideas about our world and our existence. But we are also dubious of those white gallery walls that delineate “art” from
“everything else.” So we are graphic designers as well. We love and respect the creative potential of ideas that need to function and communicate with the public. Basically, we’re humans— complex, creative, and
up for a challenge— and we’ve constructed a studio that reflects that. So if you are an established agency who respects our visual ideas, or maybe a small local business owner who sees the added-value of a graphic
design studio with its own printmaking division, or a patron of the arts that would just like to tour our messy studio, you should call us. Operators are standing by.

This 100% wood core brings life to your deck and adds a new dimension of
wake-to-wake feel and control on rails.
STRATA TRACK MOUNTING SYSTEM
This revolutionary mounting system allows a rider to choose any point on the
Strata’s 13-inch axis to secure their boot, allowing for the ultimate micro stance
adjustment and customized set-ups.
TRI-AX GLASS
This glass features a configuration of fibers running in three directions to allow for
maximum durability while still allowing the board to flex.
LAYERED GLASS
Our fiberglass is available in 3 weights depending on the board. Over time, traditional woven glass fibers will separate. With layered glass every Hyperlite deck will
have the same pop off the double up year after year.

Our Sintered Enduro base material is the strongest most durable running surface
we offer. The Sintered Enduro formula undergoes a process that creates a strong
bond between particles making the finished product nearly indestructible. This base
option is the perfect choice for the cable park season pass holder.
ENDURO BASE
NOVA CORE
This is the lightest most advanced construction method offered to date. It all centers around
our special Nova core material. This material is fully machined and has vastly different
properties than other core material. It is lighter, livelier, and stores and releases energy as
you ride. We combine this material with Carbon Torsion Strips on the top and bottom of
the board. These strips provide added rigidity and also help to create a snappier feel off the
wake. In order to make sure this construction method holds up to the punishment riders can
dish out we have added a strip of E-Core to the center of the board, reinforcing the overall
strength and making this construction stronger than ever.
MAREK NOVA
CROSSOVER CORE
Designing and developing a stronger and more durable construction method has always been
our focus. Taking what we learned from our other constructions and combining them into
one has created Crossover technology. This stringer construction allows us to combine the
benefits of different materials into one. The Nova core material is utilized on the SL version
and creates a snappy lightweight feel. Our Bio 3 core is used in the standard Crossover
construction and creates a durable more traditional feel underfoot. Combined with either
of these options, the E-Core reinforces the strength allowing a thinner profile. We finish
everything off with an ABS sidewall for impact protection and you have a board built for
the park.
UNION
TRADITIONAL CORE
The construction method that started it all! We begin with our formula of Bio
3 foam and then wrap it with our exclusive layered glass making sure every
edge utilizes our Monocoque lay-up. This traditional construction yields a part
that is strong enough for our best athletes, but also perfect for a first time rider.
Enduro Base helps to prolong the life of your deck without sacrificing the ride.
This exclusive base is a blend of lightweight durable materials to help your deck
last longer. It also has very similar characteristics to traditional materials behind the
boat so you don’t have to worry about a slow draggy ride.
MOLDED-IN ABS FINS
In an effort to maximize the durability of our traditional construction, our design
team introduced ABS into the molded-in fin areas on certain models. This material
reinforces the areas that usually wear down first.

The rocker line that started it all. Speed and fluid predictable pop truly define this rocker.
Designed to carry great speed into the wake with minimal drag, a Continuous rocker generates a
longer trajectory with similar pop every time.
ABRUPT CONTINUOUS –
This rocker line adds a little more kick to the speed that so many riders look for. The Abrupt
Continuous rocker line transitions to a slightly exaggerated tip and tail rocker creating added
pop without sacrificing speed into the wake.

The Marek Nova features one of the most advanced constructions on the market. Its fully machined
Nova Core is lighter and snappier than any other option in the Hyperlite line. The overall volume of
the board, now reduced by 15%, makes the Marek lighter than the original generation. Maintaining
a responsive edge and speed into the wake was key in the design. The Abrupt Continuous rocker
line produces great pop off the wake while allowing the board to maintain the quick feel it has been
famous for. The next generation Marek features slightly mellower base features resulting in a quicker
release off the wake, allowing a rider to initiate a trick sooner. The Marek Nova is everything you
have come to love about Rusty’s shapes in a leaner more responsive package.
Designing a new shape to carry the Marek name was a process that took months of development.

Two Stage Channel

JD and Scott Bouchard have gotten together yet again to create the third installment in a very successful series. This all-new design has given JD the ability to ride at the cable or behind the boat with
the same deck. Thanks to our Crossover Core technology, which combines two advanced core materials, the Webb provides great flex characteristics but maintains its rocker line between the bindings
allowing for great pop off of the wake. The shape itself features a very Blended 3-Stage rocker line
allowing it to carry speed and pop. The Webb also has mellow tip and tail channels and a single concave base feature so it can maintain strong edge hold. Combine all of this with a full 360 degree ABS
sidewall and full Sintered Enduro base and you have one of the most durable boards on the market.

Our franchise player has focused his sights on cable domination. Jimmy LaRiche has inspired one
of the best park specific shapes to date. Beginning with our proven Crossover Core and 360 degree
ABS sidewall, the Franchise FLX takes a softer feel to the next level. This series features our thinnest profile, which creates maximum response and board control when pressed on features. Jimmy’s
new design also utilizes a base surface with no tip or tail contours for a solid feel on rail. The subtle
edge channels offer the perfect hold while cutting, but are shallow enough not to disrupt the feel of
the board on features. The Franchise FLX was designed to take everything Jimmy loved about his
previous shape and tune it to be the perfect tool for the park.

Mr. Davies and the design team at Hyperlite set out to create a new park shape that delivers wholesome goodness day after day. After a little vitamin D and some laps around the cable, the MilkCart
was born. This new design takes all of the hard edging feel of Nick’s previous shapes and combines a
new more flexible feel on rail. The MilkCart features a thinner, more durable Crossover Core without sacrificing full tip to tail flow channels and angled fins for maximum hold and response. Our first
ever internal Cap Sidewall provides more durability than traditional ABS thanks to the additional
layer of glass encasing the edge. The MilkCart is the perfect series for the hard charging cable rider
looking for pop on air tricks as well as control and response on features.
Inspired by our team, the Union series blends the functionally of a traditional wakeboard with the
flex and feel of a thinner park board. Our Crossover SL Core combines both Nova and E-Core
materials to produce a lightweight feel with maximum durability. The 360-degree ABS sidewall
construction provides superior impact protection while the Sintered Enduro base offers our most
durable running surface to date. The Union shape itself is designed around a continuous rocker line
which provides great pop and maintains speed into the wake. The subtle base features allow this
series to generate edge hold but also provides solid contact on rails. Allowing a rider the option to
micro adjust their stance with the addition of the Strata Mounting system was the final element to
this innovative design.
The goal of the Murray series was to design a board that utilized the pro model features that Shaun
has become accustomed to while finding the balance of that user-friendly ride anyone could enjoy.
Shaun’s new shape begins with his first ever Subtle 3-stage rocker line. This new rocker gives the
Murray more pop than ever before but it’s subtle enough to maintain great speed into the wake
and make carving as natural as his previous shapes. The new dual tunnel base contours allow for
maximum water flow past the removable .8” P-Wing fins which creates a responsive edge but still
allows for a quick release off the wake. This new shape is finished off with a variable edge design and
exaggerated landing zone for smooth edge transitions and soft landings.
Jimmy LaRiche keeps the party rocking on his Hyperlite Pro Model the Franchise, an innovative
shape that anyone can strap into and feel at home on. The continuous rocker lays the foundation for
a fast board that carves and edges with ease. The Franchise features innovative Tapered Channels
that narrow at the tip and tail aligning the Dual Fin Configuration to increase the board’s edge hold
on approach to the wake. The thinner profile of the board and reduced tip and tail width minimize
swing weight for simple rotation on flat and inverted spins. Shaped by Greg Nelson for our Franchise rider, the LaRiche pro model will provide any Wakeboarder an unforgettable ride.

The B-Side series design begins at the rocker line, which is set at a 2.6 inch Blended 3–Stage. The
B-Side carries more speed into the wake than ever before. This series also features a shallower, ABS
polymer molded-in fin that ends nearly an inch from the tip of the board for a buttery smooth release
off the wake and maximum durability on sliders. The elevated footbed reinforces the fore body of the
deck to maintain a solid rocker line off the wake, but also allows for a thinned out tip and tail creating
minimum swing weight and great control on rails. This series is truly a freeride masterpiece.
The Tribute shape is designed for the true freeride experience. The Continuous rocker line carries
awesome speed into the wake and provides all the pop you need. Its variable edge design, which rolls
from soft between your feet to a sharp cupped rail tip and tail makes the board quick and responsive.
The Tribute also features shorter molded-in fins which are just enough to provide good edge hold
but not so much they delay release off the wake.
The Forefront series takes the next step in toe-side engineering, enabling riders to advance their
skills much quicker than before. It’s top deck includes the first ever toe side footbed riser for additional leverage. The base of the Forefront features toe side channel extensions further enhancing
edging and control. This is combined with four removable fins specifically designed to help aid your
riding progression. Once you have mastered the toe side edge, the fins can be changed to a more
traditional configuration. Never before has a board been equipped to truly grow with you as your
skills progress.
Creating a shape to take riders’ skills to the next level was the goal behind the new State 2.0. Learning from other asymmetrical designs, we found that creating a shorter but more effective edge on a
riders toe-side made hard to learn wake jumps that much easier. This is because there is less rail to
initiate when applying toe-side pressure. Once set, the smoother toe-side transition is then held
by the State 2.0’s thinner profile molded-in fin, creating less drag and a better release off the top
of the wake. Subtle Toe-Side Footbed Risers were also added to help a rider create more leverage
when pressure is applied. The longer, more traditional heel-side edge compliments this asymmetrical
design by allowing the natural body position of a rider to generate stability and speed into the wake
without a loss of pop due to reduced surface area. The State 2.0 has been tested and proven to be the
best choice for a rider looking to master the foundations of wakeboarding.

Three seasons ago, we at Hyperlite forever changed the way riders look at their boot to board connection.
The System introduced a new way to build the industry’s best support, comfort and board control into
our boots and bindings. Four years later we have gone beyond, improving an already revolutionary
design. The all-new System binding utilizes a Polycarbonate chassis design and a highback built
with our exclusive Urethane formula. These two lightweight components allow a rider the benefit of
maximum support and board control, while still allowing for a great range of motion. Both System
binding options offer a totally baseless design and for those looking for additional impact protection
the Pro version now comes with a removable EVA footpad. The new System bindings are designed to
work specifically with our new line of System footwear. Each boot in the line offers a different degree
of flex and feel for every style or ride.
BASELESS CHASSIS
Our new System binding utilizes a true baseless design to give a
rider the closest possible boot to board connection. Removing the
barrier of a baseplate, as found on most traditional wake boots,
allows a rider to transfer heel and toe energy directly to the board
for the fastest edge response possible. For riders that are looking
for additional impact protection and slightly mellower feedback,
the System Pro comes complete with a removable EVA footpad.
This feature allows for the option of which set-up is best for the
conditions or location they are riding.
AUTO CENTERING
STABILITY PLATES
Because taking the time to set up your bindings is the last thing you
want to do when you get to the lake, our new System binding features
Auto Centering Stability Plates. These plates can be removed and
rotated to accommodate for any specified boot size. This means no
hassle and minimal set up out of the box. These removable plates can
also be replaced over time as the hours and hours of shredding take
their toll on your equipment.

Providing a rider with maximum response, while still allowing for a
good range of motion was the goal behind this new highback design.
Our exclusive Urethane material is pliable when flexed laterally, but

maximum board control support when initiating a heel side edge.

PLATE SYSTEM
The all new Low Pro Plate system takes much of what we
learned from the System binding and incorporates it into a
more traditional design. We began by reducing the overall
volume by nearly 16%, which translates into a much
lighter boot. Our drop-through footbed keeps a rider
closer to the deck for maximum control and response. To
ensure the baseless design did not produce unwanted plate
twist we connected the sidewalls of the chassis creating a
stronger foundation.

Rusty’s new boot is built like nothing the wake industry has ever seen because of its true footwear
construction. The Marek Boot interfaces with the System Binding allowing for a lightweight feel
and maximum comfort. Beginning with a lightweight EVA outsole and TPR impact pods the Marek
boot creates great cushioning under foot. Custom insoles with integrated arch support cradle the
foot for maximum stability. Our exclusive Hyper-Liner heat moldable EVA creates a custom fit and
comfort throughout the boot. The Marek boot also features the tallest cuff and most supportive feel
in the System line, perfect for riders looking for instant response and a more locked in feel.
How could the king of cable not have his own System boot? Great question, that’s why Hyperlite
and Nick Davies are excited to give you the Process boot. This new boot features a design that is great
for the cable or behind the boat. Mr. Davies was looking for some added support so the Process boot
utilizes a taller, more supportive cuff and removable power strap to accomplish this. Solid heel hold
was also an important part of the design, and the 2 to 1 lacing zone allows for added retention as the
laces are tightened, pulling a rider’s heel snugger into place. Just like our other System boots, the
Process features a fully heat moldable Hyper-liner for the ultimate in customizable comfort, Ultron
insoles for added impact protection and a full EVA-lite outsole for a lightweight feel.
Jimmy LaRiche spent a lot of time thinking about how to create the perfect boot for his style.
Designing something that was supportive with great flexion was his main goal. Introducing a whole
new look to wake footwear was an added bonus. The AJ boot takes everything Jimmy was looking
for from a performance standpoint and packages it in a progressive, street inspired boot. The lower
cut of the cuff allows a rider the mobility they need for poked out tricks while the integrated Heel
Hold Down System provides added support. The new AJ also utilizes a traditional lacing system for
a hassle free session and the added benefit of customizing your lace color. The new AJ boot is the
perfect combination of style and function.

pro or just getting comfortable standing sideways, this is the perfect boot for you. The Team Closed
Toe boot offers mid range support for the rider looking for a little extra flex, but with no loss of hold
thanks to its heel retention strap. This feature pulls the riders foot into the heel pocket as the boot
is laced for reduced lift. Dual quick cinch lace zones and seamless liner construction allow for a fit
that produces no pressure points. The Team also utilizes the new Low Pro plate system for a lighter

THE ALL NEW ASYMMETRICAL DESIGN!
Creating the perfect shape for advanced female riders has always been important to Hyperlite. With
the help of Raimi Merritt we have created just the board. The Maiden series features a continuous
rocker that lays the foundation for a fast board that carves and edges with ease. The Maiden features
innovative Tapered Channels narrow at the tip and tail aligning the Dual Fin Configuration to
increase the board’s edge hold on approach to the wake. This helps to deliver a pop off the wake
like no other for any approach style. The thinner profile of the board and reduced tip and tail width
minimize swing weight for simple rotation on flat and inverted spins. Combine all of this with our
women’s specific Satin flex and Dual Molded Landing features and you have a deck perfect for a
female ripper.
The Syn is the shape of choice for the “It Girls” team and is proven on tour, cables & sliders. The
Syn carries awesome speed into the wake and has all the pop you need. With a variable edge design
which rolls from soft between your feet to a sharp cupped rail tip and tail, this board is as quick and
responsive as they come. A new feature that strays from traditional Hyperlite shapes however is the
Syn’s shorter curved molded in fins. Ending almost two inches from the tip and tail of the board, its
just enough fin to know its there and working but nothing to delay release off the wake.
The Jade series takes the next step in toe-side engineering, enabling riders to advance their skills
much quicker than before. It’s top deck includes the first ever toe side footbed riser for additional
leverage. The base of the Jade features toe side channel extensions further enhancing edging and
control. This is combined with four removable fins specifically designed to help aid your riding
progression. Once you have mastered the toe side edge, the fins can be changed to a more traditional
configuration. Never before has a board been equipped to truly grow with you as your skills progress.
Creating a women’s shape to take their skills to the next level was the goal behind the new Eden 2.0.
Learning from other asymmetrical designs, we found that creating a shorter but more effective edge
on a riders toe-side made hard to learn wake jumps that much easier. This is because there is less rail
to initiate when applying toe-side pressure. Once set, the smoother toe-side transition is then held
by the Eden 2.0’s thinner profile molded-in fin, creating less drag and a better release off the top
of the wake. Subtle Toe-Side Footbed Risers were also added to help a rider create more leverage
when pressure is applied. The longer, more traditional heel-side edge compliments this asymmetrical
design by allowing the natural body position of a rider to generate stability and speed into the wake

Raimi continues to push the limits of Women’s wakeboarding, and this year we wanted to give her
a boot that could match her performance on the water. By combining Raimi’s input and our new
System design, we are pleased to unveil our new women’s high performance System footwear - the
Brighton boot. This new boot offers a more supportive feel in a women’s specific fit. The BOA closure
system allows a rider to fine tune the snugness for a secure and comfortable ride. The Brighton boot
also features our new Memory Foam insole and softer heat moldable Hyper-liner for the perfect fit.
Until now, there has never been a boot in the Hyperlite line designed specifically for a female rider.

Until now, Brian Grubb has always opted for compression molded board construction. The reasons
were simple: durability and concave profiles. This season, his new series combines the features he loves
from his compression skates with the feel and weight that wood decks offer. The MrOcean boasts
full-ply wood construction with the addition of an ABS sidewall and Enduro base. Our exclusive construction uses an epoxy resin laminate, making the MrOcean stronger and longer lasting than other
wood skates in the market. Grubb and Butch also added similar rail and kick-tail concaves into the
deck for a great feel under foot. The finishing touch is a new, faster rocker line that helps to generate
speed into the wake and reduces drag.
Perfected by the Catalyst team, the new Urso series showcases what traditional wakeskates are all
about. The 18ply concave construction yields the perfect balance of weight and feel. This construction
has been updated to feature a full epoxy resin laminate system making the deck stronger and more
durable than ever before. The Urso’s variable bevel balances just the right amount of speed and release
for everything a core rider is looking for in a skate.
The Nomad Series starts with a blended 3-stage rocker line to generate good speed into the wake.
Butch also built a wider overall profile for increased surface area to give the shape extra wake-to-wake
pop. To ensure the ride was not too loose, dual base channels for tighter edge hold into the wake were

TRADITIONAL 9-PLY CONSTRUCTION
This skate features a dual density EVA top with true skate concaves. This series utilizes a redesigned
edge bevel to provide a more effective edge into the wake. The Paragon is finished off with a fully
sealed 9-ply bottom deck for all the feel and pop of wood.
The Stylus series has the traditional 9 ply wood construction for that classic snap and feel on the water.
The Stylus is an inexpensive, wood core deck for skaters looking to take the drop for the first time.
Designed with a similar rocker line and traction pad as some of our high-end decks for the most pop
and control off the water. This series also utilizes a redesigned edge bevel to provide a more effective
edge into the wake.

The Buzz was created to bridge the gap between skim and surf style
boards giving you the best of both worlds. The shape was crafted
by Butch to be the fastest, most maneuverable board in the Byerly

and tucked-under surfboard style rails hold an amazing edge, while

The Byerly team and Butch got together this off-season to create
the most advanced wakesurf board the industry has seen. This
5’4” ripper can be used as a single, dual, or quad fin set-up, allowing a rider to customize it specifically for their style or ability.

With the success of the Hazard series already under their belts, the team headed back to the
shaping room to create the next generation of Byerly wakesurfers. Butch took many of the same
features that made the first board such a huge success and turned them into the new compression
molded Byerly Volt. The 4’10” Volt features minimal tail rocker and a dual concave base to make it a
very fast shape that will keep riders driving into the sweet spot of the curl. The new tip fin is a great
addition for advanced riders looking to have a little extra traction when riding the board switch. The
tail fins offer a variety of mounting options allowing the board to be set up as a thruster, dual, tri or
single fin set up making it perfect for any style of rider. Best of all, the Biolite compression molded
construction provides superior durability without the hefty price tag of epoxy boards.

With the new demands of wakeskating and riders looking for more
durable deck options, Scott and the team devoted much of their
time testing new materials and constructions to find the best
combination. After many rounds of prototypes, they settled on the
new Heritage series. This all new deck features a full Sintered
base and ABS sidewall, two features that together make the skate
stronger and more durable. Butch also spent hours in the shaping
room to perfect the concaves and rocker line that Scott and BT
wanted. The top concaves are well blended from kick-tail to side
rail, providing the perfect feel underfoot. The all new rocker line
provides a much faster edge into the wake and still provides solid
pop. The Heritage series is built specifically for the well-rounded
wakeskater that sessions features at the cable, their favorite winch
spot or even behind the boat.

The System Binding launches a revolution in water sports footwear.
This external binding was designed specifically for use with our new
System Boots. Our new design philosophy allows us to build unmatched
strength, support, and response into the binding itself without sacrificing comfort. The System Binding features full GX3 construction making
it light weight and extremely strong. The articulating highback allows
for greater support and moves with a rider’s leg to ensure a full range
of rear motion. The adjustable ankle and toe straps are built with maximum retention in mind without creating unwanted pressure points. The
System Binding also features an underfoot bridge that connects the
side walls of the chassis creating a torsionaly strong construction that

The Conspiracy series takes the durability and strength a Glass
Rope sidewall delivers one step further with an additional deck
inlay. This Dual Rope construction creates twice the strength of
a traditional wakeboard lay-up, allowing this series to be thinner

This series features a faster more responsive ride that is quick
to respond and holds an edge all the way through the wake. The

The Monarch series has become a staple in the Byerly wakeboard line.
It’s mellow, Blended 3-stage rocker and shorter molded-in fins allow
the board to release quicker off the wake than previous shapes. The
Monarch also features two removable Blunt fins which provide stability
for beginner to intermediate riders and can be removed for a looser
more advanced ride. The Monarch is a proven shape at a new price.

After years of development, Byerly Boards is proud to present
the Blunt series. Shaped by Scott Bouchard, this all new design
includes ground breaking advancements in both construction and
features. Internally the Blunt utilizes our exclusive Flak Jacket
Sidewall. This new sidewall material is comprised of strands
of Carbon, Kevlar, and Fiberglass all woven together in a .25”
diameter. When combined these materials create a full 360 degree
perimeter of added strength, flex, and pop. This new construction
method allows the Blunt to be the thinnest most durable Byerly

shape to date. Building a board with a fully customizable fin system
was also part of the driving force in Scott Bouchard’s new creation.
The Blunt features a molded-in style of removable fin that has two
mounting locations. This allows a rider to run the fins closer to the
tip/tail for a more locked in feel or nearly 1” from the tip/tail for a
quicker release off the wake. The Blunt’s Blended 3-Stage rocker
line provides just enough speed while still maintaining great pop.
This series truly defines glass technology evolution and is a great
choice for behind the boat or cable park sessions.

When Scott Bouchard and the Byerly team decide to build a new product, they
always work to create the best in the category. The JIB series is the first true flex
board in the Byerly line and one that helps to redefine what a little flex can do for
a shape. Beginning with the construction, this series features a fully machined
Crossover Core that utilizes wood and foam stringers to create a durable board
with all new softer flex characteristics. The JIB also features a 360 degree ABS
sidewall and Sintered Enduro base to ensure your fun at the cable won’t end after

Brenton Priestley (BP) has quickly become one of the most
progressive free riders out there. His style is unlike anything we
have seen, so when Scott “Butch” Bouchard had the opportunity
to create a new signature shape for him, we knew it would be
something special. The BP series features our all-new Carbon
Composite Stringer construction, which is an exclusive layup Butch designed to build a strong, responsive ride. The two
independently inserted Carbon segments run tip to tail under the
binding platform to create strength, allowing the board profile to

be thinner for unmatched flex characteristics. They also store and
return energy as the board releases off of the wake. The perimeter
is reinforced with Byerly’s Energy Ring sidewalls, making the
board extremely durable at the cable. The BP series features a fast
continuous rocker line and mellow base features for a fluid and
responsive ride. The BP is the newest addition to the Byerly line and
the most advanced composite construction in the industry.

THE AR1
Aaron Rathy has become a constant force in the sport and his
riding style seems to evolve with every season. Since his first
year with Byerly he has been working on a shape that was
designed specifically for him. The AR-1 is the culmination of
all the hard work and testing. Scott “Butch” Bouchard designed
this shape to be responsive, fast and poppy, but also extremely
durable. This is accomplished with our all new Cross Link
construction. This process fuses the top and bottom fiberglass
laminates in four zones throughout the core. By connecting the

top and bottom laminates a strong “I-beam” bond is formed.
This new construction method has allowed us to design a
thinner shape with no loss of strength. The AR-1 utilizes
Byerly’s first Continuous rocker line to generate maximum
speed into the wake with no loss of pop .The new profile allows
the board to have a very responsive feel and hold a strong edge
into the wake. Mr. Rathy and Butch have been working on this
shape for three seasons and now it is ready to rip.

At Byerly Boards we pride ourselves on pressing the limits of fiberglass technology and board construction. Our “Evolution of Glass Technology” refers to the
different internal construction methods we use throughout the line. These technologies and construction methods took years of development and testing
to ensure they were perfect before they were introduced. Most importantly all of these constructions focus on materials that are designed to be compatible
with the overall construction of the board. Only combinations of material that fuse to become one during the compression molding process are selected.

CARBON COMPOSITE CONSTRUCTION

Carbon Composite Stringer construction is Scott Bouchard’s newest and most
advanced addition to the line. Butch’s industry exclusive construction utilizes the
strength and lightweight properties of woven Carbon by completely wrapping two
Biolite 3 segments in this composite and inserting them into the core. This is the first
construction method that inserts stringers into the core that mirror the rocker line
of the board creating more energy and rebound than competitor’s flat wood cores.
Carbon Composite Stringer construction offers true multi-flex zones providing soft tip
and tail flex and a preloaded zone between you boots for explosive pop. The perimeter
energy ring of Carbon, Kevlar and E-glass create the most durable sidewall and adds
torsional stiffness for consistent pop. Due to their tip to tail configuration, the Carbon
Composite Stringers also fuse the top and bottom laminates in the most vital area, the
rocker line. This creates the most durable and technical construction available today
CROSS-LINK™ FIBERGLASS I-BEAM CONSTRUCTION
(Available in The AR-1 53”, 55”)
Cross Link construction is the culmination of years of testing and design. It is the
most advanced form of fiberglass technology to date. This innovative construction
method utilizes the strength provided by linking the top and bottom laminates
through woven fiberglass stringers. These stringers are threaded through reliefs
in the core allowing them to make contact with both the top and base fiberglass
laminates. When the board is laid up the resin fuses with the laminates to form a
singular fiberglass structure.
CROSS OVER CONSTRUCTION
(Available in The Jib 54” 56”)
Crossover core construction combines the benefits of different materials into one.
Biolite 3 core material is used to create a durable more traditional feel underfoot
and the E-Core reinforces the strength of the deck allowing for a thinner profile
without sacrificing strength. We finish everything off with an ABS sidewall for impact
protection and you have a board built for the park.
CARBON ENERGY RING CONSTRUCTION
(Available in The Blunt 53” 55”)
The construction incorporates Carbon and Kevlar strands into a larger diameter
fiberglass rope perimeter. These two elements add both strength and an explosive
pop and responsiveness. We call this new sidewall our “Flak Jacket Sidewall”. This
new material runs the full perimeter of the Blunt creating an uninterrupted ring of
strength, durability, and lively pop!

This construction utilizes the additional strength created when the top and
bottom fiberglass sheets overlap one another at the perimeter of the board.
Once fused, the overlapped glass creates a stronger, more durable sidewall.
The Double Lap is exclusive to Byerly boards and the first level of fiberglass
technology.
