The newly refurbished Bandstand will host free concerts on June 7 and June 28. So keep your eyes and ears open for more details! A festival as dynamic as WEF in a city as dynamic as Glasgow can’t stand still, and as well as new venues and new performers, we hope you notice the ever-increasing section on choral singing. This year there are at least 23 choirs and singing groups – a whole festival in its own right! Please support them. Ticketing at the festival Some events offer tickets in advance, so please read each entry carefully for details. It only leaves us to acknowledge all of our funders including Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life and Creative Scotland, as well as the W M Mann Foundation, the Hugh Fraser Foundation & the Scottish Book Trust. Also a big thank you to the many volunteers, Committee and Board members who work tirelessly to ensure the success of the Festival, as well as all the staff and participants who give their expertise and energy to make the West End Festival happen. You know who you are, and your efforts are very much appreciated! She will reflect on how our local services have promoted wellbeing and provided mental health care to their communities over the last two centuries. Presented in conjunction with Art in the Gart. During the Victorian era and earlier, the affluent families of Glasgow who wished to have an escape from the noise and dirt of the city, into a cleaner and quieter setting, were wont to build their “second homes” in pleasant surroundings on the Clyde.
