1207.1 Scope:
This section shall apply to common interior walls,
partitions and floor/ceiling assemblies between
adjacent dwelling units or between dwelling units
and adjacent public areas such as halls, corridors,
stairs or service areas.
1207.2 Airborne sound:
Walls, partitions and floor/ceiling assemblies
separating dwelling units from each other or
from public or service areas shall have a sound
transmission class (STC) of not less than 50
(45 if field tested) for airborne noise when
tested in accordance with ASTM E 90.

the floor surface temperature with twice the
R-value of wood. ComfortBase is a resilient
board that cushions hard concrete, yet is
structural and durable enough for heavy traffic.
The uniquely engineered bottom surface
provides a built-in ventilation system, which
allows concrete to breathe naturally.
ComfortBase is easily applied by the framing
carpenter, avoiding the expense of additional
contractors. Our float method for installation
under the pad and carpet eliminates the need
for mechanical fasteners.

N.C.F.R.® Homasote
When décor and design call for tackability DesignWall
meets the challenge in three designer colors. Laminated
with a stylish, sustainable and 100% recycled Guilford
of Maine FR701 fabric wrapped along the long edges:
Installed as a rough-hewn (masonry-like finish) fire-resistant
tackboard or custom-wrapped* with specified fabrics to create
unique tackable wall surfaces (must lightly sand the surface);
N.C.F.R. Homasote (N.C.F.R.) is a multi-use Class A board
whose fire-resistance is completely infused with fire retardant
material throughout. Unlike competitive products that are
surface coated or dipped N.C.F.R. retains its fire resistance
even after its surface has been compromised. (55% recycled
content).
