Introduction
Board
Dear Colleague,
on behalf of The Italian Society of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynaecology
SIPGO we are pleased to host the 16th International Congress of the International
Society of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynecology in Venice, Italy.
More and more the strict connections between body and mind are becoming clear,
and neurosciences are providing day by day even more information on the brain
activities and on how this can affect the functions of all other organs.
We have chosen the beautiful city of Venice as it is the place where art, music
and history are marvellously blent together inspiring all sorts of emotions and
sensations to all sensible people.
Wandering around the enchanting narrow streets, the “calli”, the bridges and the
canals will make everybody breath the unique atmosphere so much appreciated
by all major writers and painters, providing inspiration of profound human
sentiments of passion, love, melancholy and joy.
It is our purpose to organize a major scientific event giving the chance to all
participants to live and appreciate the Italian style in the marvellous environment
of Venice and its fascinating Lagoon.

Congress Venue
Hilton Molino Stucky, Venice
The Hilton Molino Stucky is without doubt one of Venice’s most impressive hotels. Originally built as a flour
mill in the 19th century, the building has recently been
restored and now boasts a spectacular rooftop pool and
spa, the largest Congress Centre in Venice and five contemporary restaurants and bars.
From its site on the Guidecca - the gondola-shaped island that lies minutes away from the Piazza San Marco
and all the major attractions - the hotel gazes proudly
out over the Canale della Guidecca and an unforgettable city skyline.
The major attractions of Venice are all easily accessible
from Hilton Molino Stucky. It is only a few minutes by
shuttle boat from the hotel to Piazza San Marco, the
Basilica di San Marco, and the Doge’s Palace, and from
here a short walk takes you to the Grand Canal, the
Guggenheim Museum, and the Teatro La Fenice. The
Rialto Bridge, halfway along the Grand Canal, is historically regarded as the heart of Venice.
