After finishing my last courses at U of T I was hired by TD as a customer service representative. After
several months of consistently meeting and exceeding goals I was offered a chance to get my mutual
funds license and move into a new role as a Financial Services Representative. I am currently job
shadowing and exploring different opportunities in the financial industry.
Sohnee Ahmed (HBSc 2007)

Sohnee attended the University of Toronto as a member of Woodsworth College from 2003 to 2007. She
was in the Human Biology specialty program, Genes, Genetics & Biotechnology and also minored in
anthropology.
While at U of T, she was active in student government, representing Woodsworth on the U of T Student
Union (UTSU) Board of Directors and was the UTSU liason on the Woodsworth College Students'
Association (WCSA). She then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Genetic Counseling through
Wayne State University in Michigan and subsequently was recruited to the University of Rochester in
New York, where she helped establish the first neurogenetics clinic in the region.
Sohnee spent the next three years caring for patients in both adult and pediatric settings while also
pursuing genomic research interests. In 2013, she joined the Division of Clinical & Metabolic Genetics at
The Hospital for Sick Children, working with a team in clinical neurogenetics.

I Graduated from U of T with a HBA in Sociology & Urban Studies and a Master of Social Work. I am
currently an EAP Clinical Counsellor that provides solution focused consultations and crisis intervention
to clients. I also have experience in child welfare and immigrant settlement counselling.
I am currently volunteering as a KidCoach with Future Possibilities for Kids and am a member of the
Sociology Alumni Association Board.
Arek Aniolowski (HBSc 2007)

Arek Aniolowski is currently a Senior Policy Advisor with the Ontario Ministry of Labour. He has been
working for the Ontario government in the public policy field since 2008 and has been involved in the
development and amendments of various labour acts. Prior to this role, he was a research and
administrative assistant at an immigration law firm in Toronto.
Arek holds an MA in Public Policy and Administration from Ryerson University, and an Honours BA from
the University of Toronto (Major in European Studies, Minors in Political Science and French as a Second
Language). While at UofT, he was a member of the UofT delegation that participated in SPECQUE, an
international French-speaking model of the European Parliament, in Barcelona, Ottawa and Krakow.
Osman Anwer (HBSc 2001)

Osman is the Chief Technical Officer at Claymore Inc. He is the system architect of the SkilSure elearning platform used widely in Canada and the U.K in tracking continuing competency assurance
processes and vocational qualification attainment.
Osman graduated in 2001 with an Hon. B.Sc. (Specialist in Software Engineering) and lives in Toronto
with his wife and fellow Comp Sci grad Jennifer.

I attended U of T (University College) from 2004-2008. I was an active member of many UC Lit groups,
specifically UCOC and their mentorship program. In 2008 I graduated with my degree in English
Literature and began working for TD Canada Trust.
While working, I enrolled in an accelerated Law Clerk program at a local college. Upon graduation, I was
given a three month law firm placement and I stayed with the firm for over two years before
transitioning to my new company. I now work for TMX Group Limited, the parent company of the
Toronto Stock Exchange, as a Corporate Services Manager in their General Counsel’s Office.
My career choice combines my interest in law and finance while letting me use the research, writing and
analytic skills gained during my time at U of T. I am also involved in many companywide initiatives and
social events. In my spare time, I volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto, stay active and enjoy
reading and baking.
Benjamin Banyai (BCom 2006)

Benjamin Banyai graduated from the Rotman Bachelor of Commerce program in 2006. For a year after
his graduation, he held a position in fund accounting at IBT Bank and Trust. During that year, IBT Bank
and Trust was taken over by State Street, which is the company for which he has been working for the
past 7 years.

Benjamin worked in the Data Augmentation group and serviced the Investment Compliance department
prior to moving on to the Performance & Analytics group, where he has been for over 4 years. During
this time Benjamin has held increasingly senior positions. In his current position as an Officer, he is
responsible for a broad range of investment analytics reporting for a portfolio of over 20 clients,
including clients with assets in excess of $10 billion. Benjamin also holds the CFA and CIPM designations.
Katharine Bausch (HBA 2004)

Katherine graduated from U of T in 2004 with an Hon. BA History Specialist. She is a full-time faculty
member in the Gender and Women's Studies Department at Trent and is about to complete her Ph.D in
History at York University. Katherine also posseses a Master of Social Science from the University of
Chicago.
Dan Camposano (BA 1983)

Dan majored in history, specializing in American and European at history as an undergraduate at Victoria
College. Afterwards, he worked as an accountant for many years, first at the former Colony Hotel (now
a U of T residence) and then the Delta Chelsea Hotel. While working in the hospitality industry, Dan
obtained a Business Management certificate from Ryerson University. Later, he obtained his life
insurance licence and is currently working as a financial advisor.
Dan has stayed connected with U of T through the Friends of Victoria University Library, Hart House
Alumni Committee, and the Alumni of Victoria College executive.
He enjoys reading and trying out different restaurants in the city.

Ferdelle Lauren Capistrano (HBA 2012)
Director/Producer/Writer/Musician/Actress, Tenacity Productions
Never putting her eggs in one basket, Ferdelle's creative success is a collection of dabbling in graphic
design, blogging, writing and recording music, working on film and TV sets and pursuing inspiration and
knowledge that fosters versatility.
Immediately after graduation Ferdelle produced her first short film at the Toronto Reel Asian Film
Festival and screened it in November 2012. She has produced and directed two music videos and a short
film for a Sci-fi 48-hour film challenge. She's currently training at Second City, is in the middle of
recording an album, and encourages teamwork to help create innovative media to share with the world.

Melanie Capobianco is a Foreign Legal Consultant in the Real Property & Planning Group and
Infrastructure Group of McCarthy Tétrault LLP in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Melanie practiced as a transactional real estate and corporate lawyer in New York City for over seven
years. During such time, Melanie primarily focused on commercial real estate matters, including
acquisitions and dispositions, commercial financing, REIT transactions, hotel joint venture agreements

Cissy Chan (HBA 2004)

Cissy Chan attended the University of Toronto from 2001 to 2004 in the Honours Bachelor of Science
Degree program majoring in Psychology and Biology. After obtaining her degree, she continued on to
complete the Pharmacy Technician Diploma Program from Herzing College that lead to a Technician
position in a pharmacy. She left the role to pursue a client service position in an employment services
company where she provided third party screening services for a variety of employers. She was
promoted to a team leader position when the downturn in the economy lead to her being laid off.
Through her network, she obtained an administrative position in a food manufacturing company. Her
background in biology opened the doors to a position in Research and Development where she has been
working ever since. Now, she is happily employed where she actively participates in developing recipes
used in the food industry.
Jennifer Chan (HBA 2001; MA 2005)

Jennifer Chan holds a Hon. BA in Anthropology and Semiotics and MA in Socio-Cultural Anthropology,
both from the University of Toronto. After graduating from UofT, she worked on post-secondary
education policy analysis in the United Kingdom (through an internship) and Toronto. This work included
researching issues facing post-secondary students and making recommendations to government and
university management on policies such as tuition and financial aid.
After years of actively volunteering and organizing on neighbourhood and city issues, Jen joined the
office of a city councillor at the City of Toronto where she worked for seven years. This role included
interacting with constituents on issues in the ward, coordinating a community-based planning process
on development applications, public realm and park improvements, and overseeing these issues

My first job after graduation was an assistant manager at McDonald's. I did a few other jobs before
landing a 'float secretary' position at Ernst & Young. I was taking the Canadian Securities Course for my
personal interest when I was approached to join the newly founded investment advisory group as a
'investment administrator'. That was when I began my career in wealth management. I took most of
the courses at the Canadian Securities Institute and eventually pursued the Chartered Financial Analyst
designation. On the job front, I progressed to investment analyst and ultimately became a 'registered'
portfolio manager.

firm, as a Recruiting Associate. A year later I moved into a Training and Project Specialist position within
the operations department as the internal corporate trainer for the HRO Recruiting Solutions sector and
designed the company business practices and training manual. In 2008 I decided to change careers and
become a secondary school teacher and was hired to the TCDSB in 2010 after completing my B.Ed. I am
currently teaching social sciences and visual art full-time at a high school in Toronto.

Hello! My name is Marissa Consiglieri de Chackal. Currently, I am adjunct professor of History of Art at
the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) in Lima, Peru. I have been associated with the Faculty

of architecture at the UPC for some years now. I have taught different survey Art History courses. My
preferred ones are: Antiquity to Middle Ages; Early Renaissance to Mannerism; and Baroque to Art
Nouveau. In addition, I designed an online Seminar course in History of Art and Architecture; this is the
course I am teaching at present, from Canada.
I received both my M.A. (History of Art) and B.A. (French: Language and Literature & History of Art) from
University of Toronto. Aside from the teaching, I am involved in a research project and have an

In the past, I have worked as an art dealer, both independently, and in association to a couple of

Demetra graduated from the University of Toronto in 2006 with a double major in psychology and
professional writing & communication. Her 2006 publication entitled Exposed documented the
occupational disaster in Libby, Montana, that left the town devastated by the effects of contaminated
vermiculite and the asbestos-related diseases that developed from that contamination. This publication
earned her the 2007 AllBooks Editor's Choice Award in non-fiction.
Demetra has since worked in the Canadian publishing industry and legal field in various roles. She is a
licensed paralegal with a certificate in alternative dispute resolution. When she is not working, Demetra
enjoys volunteering at the TIFF Bell Lightbox and watching live theatre and sketch comedy.
Nadine Galszechy (HBA 1986)

Nadine has helped hundreds of individuals to make the most of their careers and work lives through her

various other assessments. She also leads seminars in Fortune 500 companies across industries and
institutions including the public and private sectors and in both Canada and the US. For the past 15
years, Nadine has developed and honed her Human Capital abilities managing and working on

Prior to her work in the Human Capital industry, Nadine worked as a Production Manager and in

Ontario. Prior to this, Neil worked at two Crown corporations (Canada Lands Company and Canada
Mortgage & Housing) writing speeches, articles for internal newsletters, pieces for annual reports, etc.
Neil has also been a communications staffer for two federal ministers in Ottawa (National Defense and
Foreign Affairs) and worked at both the National Post, as an editorial writer (1999-2001; 2002-2003),
and the Dubai-based Gulf News as a subeditor for the business section (2004-2005). He received
fellowships from two Washington, DC-based think-tanks for his writing at the National Post.
Now 37 years old, he’s happy to be again working in Toronto after several years away and plans no
further employment outside the city.
