1999: TYR full body suit tests at the U.S. Olympic Training Center find
6% drag reduction at the International Center for Aquatic Research.
2003: A study by the USA Swimming Sports Science Committee proves
that TYR technology provides the most streamlined position for an
athlete and reduces form drag better than the leading manufacturers.
In addition, it was shown that TYR was the leader in pioneering natural
buoyancy. TYR technology shifted the location of center of buoyancy a
significant amount closer to the center of mass in such a way that it
would tend to reduce the amount that the legs would sink relative to
the rest of the body. The study concluded that “In the end only one suit
(TYR) provided a significant reduction in CB-CM distance.”
2004: TYR was the first company to de-compose the components of
overall drag in high performance racing suits. With the University at
Buffalo, State University of New York, significant improvements in
research technique found an 18% reduction in pressure drag, 53% in
wave drag and a 10% overall reduction in drag. Results were published
in the Journal of Medicine, Science, Sports & Exercise.
2007: Water repellency testing conducted in 2007, by the worldwide
leading firm in certification, achieved a perfect rating. Headquartered
in Paris, the bureau’s results authenticate years of testing TYR has
invested in engineering surface boundary technology.
2008: The first two swimmers named to the 2008 USA Swimming
Olympic Team qualify wearing Tracer.

Amaury Leveaux has swam faster than any
American swimmer in history. In 2008 the
European Record holder did something no
other swimmer in history has ever done. Setting
personal bests in the 50m and 200m freestyle,
Amaury became the first and only swimmer in
the world to ever swim the 50m Free under 22
seconds and the 200m Free under 1:47.
First competitive swimming use of polyurethane
woven fabric (January 18, 2008) at the Southern
California Grand Prix (no other company had used
