Private Transfer arrangements:
Airport Transfers to/from hotels are fully escorted from Airport to Venice Island by private boat. (In
case of poor weather conditions, transfer from airport will be by private car to Piazzale Roma, where
you then board a private boat to Venice Island)
Private Transfers for people with mobilty impairments:
Boarding a water taxi is not like boarding a cruise ship. It’s a small boat and if the person is not able to
step or is not totally stable, there’s a risk he/she can fall into the canal. In this case, be sure to choose
the specially equipped private transfer. No more than 3 people (up to 1 wheelchair or scooter) can be
accommodated on this boat.

How can the tide affect the transfer?
Venice has many small canals and little bridges. Sometimes, when it’s high tide, depending on the size
of the boats, the water taxis might not be able to pass under small bridges because the water level is
too high and cannot reach the door of the hotel.
Clients might see other boats in front of the hotel. This might be they reached the hotel from the
opposite direction or maybe they are flatter boats.
Our boat drivers will always do their best to reach the door of the hotel, but sometimes it might not be
possible because of the tide. If this is the case, they will reach the closest reachable point and from
there customers might have to walk few meters accompanied by the Assistant that is escorting them.

of high or low tide it’s not possible
for private boat to reach them:

How long does it take for a private transfer?
For the utmost passenger comfort, don’t book transfers too early!
AIRPORT: Book the transfer to the airport to meet at the hotel 3 hours prior to flight time
TIP: Only arrange for a transfer after 4:30 am. Venice Airport opens at 5:00 am and for
security, passengers are not allowed to wait outside the airport.
TRAIN: Book the transfer to the train station 1hr before departure, which will avoid the passenger
having to stand in long lines for a long time
PORT: Book the transfer to the S. Basilio or Porto Marittimo 30-45 minutes before embarkation starts
TIP: Venice ports don’t have many comfort facilities so it is not recommended to get there
early

Shuttle Services
Venice Shuttle is a shared motorboat transfer from Venice Marco Polo Airport or Venice Port to the
most convenient stop available to your Venice Island hotel.
PLEASE REMEMBER:

Each hotel is within 5 to 8 minute walking distance from the stop where the boat will let you off.


Not all hotels can be reached via shared transfers, as they are too far from the stop

All clients are provided with a map to reach their hotels from the stop.

For the shared boat transfer back to the aiport, clients will receive a map to the closest pick-up
point a couple of days before the transfer is scheduled.

Finding Your Meeting Point for Sightseeing Tours
It is recommended to leave plenty of time to get to your meeting point.
We do not recommend using GPS navigation systems in Venice. They do not always work properly as
there aren’t street names, but area names. You will usually find a place name as the meeting point so
it is easier to find.
Sometimes meeting points change so be sure to refer to the voucher.

The station was built on the top of the ruins of Santa Lucia church. It can be reached on foot.
For private car transfers, the driver meet clients at the head of the platform. The vehicle waits for
