Calibur DVMRe eZT Series
Calibur DVMR e eZT Series
DVMRe-16eZT
T
he DVMRe eZT series is
an economized version of
the DVMRe Triplex,
GE Interlogix’s feature-packed
line of advanced digital video
multiplexer/recorders.
Three eZ Triplex models
are available: the 4-camera
DVMRe-4eZT, the 10-camera
DVMRe-10eZT and the
16-camera DVMRe-16eZT.
The eZT records highresolution pictures to its
built-in hard drive—storing
color images for hours, weeks,
or even years. Optional digital
recording accessories (such as
the Calibur DVSe , DAT, AIT,
CD-R, or RAID) extend the
eZT’s storage capabilities—
enabling users to automatically
archive continuous recordings,
images, and video clips. Wavelet
video compression makes it
possible to archive compact files
with high image resolution. A
secret watermark ensures the
integrity of each recording.
DVMRe eZT also offers
FireWire as a standard connection. FireWire is a ultra highspeed serial data connection
that is capable of transfer
speeds of up to 400 mega bits
per second to a DVSe . This is
33 times faster than USB.
Firwire uses a IEEE 1394 port
for transmission. The cable for
the IEEE 1394 port must be
purchased separately.
The DVMRe eZT also
supports dynamic IP addresses.
This new DHCP-enabled
feature eliminates connection
problems in a dynamic/static
network environment.
The DVMRe eZT retrieves
the date and time from the
Network Time Protocol Server
via UDP packet exchange so
the user never has to manually
set the time.
Operating the eZT is
simple. Its front panel controls
emulate multiplexer and VCR
controls for easy, intuitive use.
With the eZT, you can search

recorded data by alarms, events,
cameras, time, and date range.
A built-in jog/shuttle dial
provides variable-speed forward
and reverse play, including
single-frame rewind and
advance.
With its exclusive
AutoInstall ™ feature, the eZT
self-configures upon power-up,
standing by in event mode until
activity takes place within its
field of view. When motion is
detected, it begins recording
at the default record rate—even
faster if not all camera input
ports are used.
The eZT captures up to
60 pictures per second, more
than 3 times as many as most
multiplexer / VCR combinations. Individual cameras may
be set up to record in time
lapse mode, event mode, or
both modes at the globally
selected recording rates—
eliminating the need to
program multiple camera
speeds for less-demanding
applications.
Using Calibur ProBridge
interfaces, the eZT can also
capture transaction text data
and associate it with stored
video for use in Point of Sale
(POS) applications. Video can
be easily retrieved as evidence
in disputes associated with cash
register transactions, access
control logs, or other audit
trail-oriented systems. When
matching events are found, the
desired scene can be selected
to automatically begin playback.
The eZT also includes
WaveReader, a Graphical User
Interface that enables users to
use a PC to remotely control an
eZT over a network. They can
remotely pan, tilt, zoom, focus,
search for video, and program
or select a camera preset.
The eZT is POTS-ready.
Operators can use a modem to
connect to a remote eZT over
standard telephone lines. Up
to 20 users can connect simultaneously via Ethernet, with one
user viewing playback of
recorded images, and 19 others
viewing live images while the
eZT continues recording.
Authorized users can
select and post images or clips
to the network; store, print, and
e-mail images; and store video
clips. For closer scrutiny of each
image, WaveReader software’s
WaveStudio enables users to
adjust various image enhancement controls such as intensity,
contrast, hue, saturation, and
noise level.

The DVMRe eZT can accommodate 4, 10, or 16 cameras. The unit can archive to a DVSe through the IEEE 1394 port. LAN/WAN connection is through an
RJ45 connector. External alarm sensors can be connected via the terminal blocks on the DB25 breakout board (included). It can be remotely controlled and
viewed by a PC using the LAN port. Up to 32 DVMRes and keypads can be connected to the same RS485 network.
