materials eliminate painful packing removal.
Fewer Adhesions and Reduced Healing Time With
Hyaluronic Acid
Our dissolvable nasal packing products use hyaluronic acid, a linear polysaccharide and naturally occurring
constituent of the extracellular matrix. It helps keep the surgical site moist, reduce adhesions, and decrease
healing time.1 Esterified hyaluronic acid, or HYAFF®, is a patented formula that is used in our MeroGel® and
MeroPack® nasal packing products.
Adhesions with MeroGel vs. Control
A randomized, multicenter, prospective, controlled, blinded study shows that use of MeroGel®
packing results in fewer adhesions at both 4 and 12 weeks postop.1

Bioresorbable Nasal Dressing and Sinus Stent
The woven fleece form of this nasal packing can be used in its dry state to absorb
up to 10 times its weight in liquids and help control minimal bleeding. When
hydrated, the biopolymer gradually transforms into a muco-adhesive gel after
approximately 24–48 hours, separates mucosal surfaces and gradually dissolves
after approximately 2 weeks, eliminating painful nasal packing removal. Doctors
who use MeroGel® packing have observed better healing in clinical studies.1,2

Bioresorbable Nasal Dressing and Sinus Stent
A thick, viscous hydrogel, MeroGel Injectable is an economical and effective choice
for nasal packing. It contains 160 mg of biocompatible cross-linked hyaluronic acid
in each 4 mL syringe and helps create a moist, wound-healing environment.
MeroGel Injectable offers:
• Excellent muco-adhesion and ease of use
• Short residence time of 5-7 days
• A flexible catheter for easier access to hard-to-reach nasal cavities

MeroPack®
Bioresorbable Nasal Dressing and Sinus Stent
Dry State
MeroPack® is the first combination dressing designed for postoperative
hemostasis and wound-healing. It’s composed of 80 percent HYAFF
plus 20 percent collagen, which helps control minimal bleeding
following surgery or nasal trauma. MeroPack is a biocompatible,
mucoadhesive gel that absorbs approximately 14 times its weight in
fluid and provides excellent stenting capabilities. It’s slowly resorbed
within 2 weeks, eliminating the need for painful nasal packing removal.
