AUTUMN WALKING WEEKEND
21 TO 24 OCTOBER 2016
This great walking weekend enables you to enjoy the breath taking
colourful autumnal scenery that the Isle of Wight has to offer. We
have over 50 great walks in the programme, which take you to some
wonderful enchanting locations on the Island. The walks are suitable
for all ages and abilities, and we have some great new walks in the
programme.
Join in the ‘Tassles and Torches’ night walk,
and help raise funds for Breast Cancer
Research. The walk is on 22 October and
starts at 9pm from Sandown Bay Academy.
It is a sponsored walk for a great cause. Full

Alternatively join the ‘Live on honour walk’
in aid of the Poppy Appeal. This walk takes
you along the wonderful Warrior Trail,
which was created to celebrate one of the
Island’s prominent First World War stores,
that of General Jack Seely and his horse

The first of two walks to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot
‘Capability’ Brown. The Isle of Wight Gardens Trust is offering an expert guided
tour of the gardens and inner park to discover Brown’s only Isle of Wight designed
landscape at Appuldurcombe, commissioned in the 18th century by the influential

the Isle of Wight Garden Trust have organised
two great walks guiding you through
Appuldurcombe, one of Browns landscapes.
The Island is a perfect location for walking,
with its 500 miles of well-maintained
footpaths, and 60 miles of heritage coastline being located just a
few miles from the mainland and only two and a half hours from
central London, it makes the Island the ultimate destination for
walking.
