The Volkswagen Station Wagon comes equipped with ex¬

Pop tops, after popping, provide lots of
standing room.
Ours does too. But without popping.

Notice that there is room for four people to dine in comfort.
Without crowding. And still another can dine up front using
our portable snack table. Several tables give you several pos¬
sibilities. (like separating the kids.)
The Adventurer IV has features that you usually expect to find
only in high cost luxury motor homes.
Like pressurized water for instance. And a city water inlet. We
even put in an Everpure water purification system to assure
that your water supply is both safe and good-fasting.
This purified wafer is available at your tap without pumping.
And there is hot wafer too. A special stainless stee' container
delivers gravity-fed hot running water at your sink.
To make cooking convenient we supply a built-in propane
range. And supply the range with a propane tank big enough
to last you for a month's vacation.
But we didn't stop here.
1 10V wiring is standard. And so is an electric refrigerator with
cross-top freezer. And we provide you with a special heavyduty battery just to run the refrigerator. The battery is charged
automatically as you drive.
Stored between your two front seats is a portable seat with a
built-in chemical toilet. An Adventure Camper exclusive.
You'll also find a full-length closet and an abundance of
storage space for all of the things you need.

We've given you a table for outside use. When it isn't a
table, it becomes a door for a storage cabinet. There are
three more tables inside.
STORAGE
Your water, supplied through an exterior city-water inlet, is
stored in a 14 gallon air-pressurized tank, and an Everpure
water purification system is standard equipment. We have
replaced the old fashioned pump with a faucet. The frontier
effort is gone but not the spirit.

The above chart is your guide to Adventure. It tells you exactly
what you get with each of our 12 VW packages. Notice that
they vary in equipment from a little to a lot.
You can get as little as just the bed (M-l). Add curtains and
you have a Sleeper (M-2). M-3 and M-4 are our standard
campers. They include many of the features found in our more
deluxe models. M-5 through M-8 are more deluxe versions of
our standard models.

The Adventurewagon (M-9, M-10) is an economy version of
the fully equipped Adventurer IV. The Adventurer IV (M-ll,
M-l 2) is equipped for those who require self-contained com¬
fort for luxury travel.
Select yours according to your needs. One thing for sure, if
you choose an Adventurer IV, there are lots of things you
won't need.
We have a good selection of accessories too. Like snap-on
screens for the cab windows. And hammocks. And tents. And
all the goodies that are standard on the Adventurer IV can be
added to our other models.
Our covered wagon
Well, not really a covered wagon in the literal sense. Or a car
either because it makes more sense. And some people would
think you senseless if you tried to call it a motor home. Still,
as a motor home, they have to admit that it does a pretty good
job without being a job to drive. Or park. Our covered
wagon is nearly as maneuverable as a VW Bug.

And that's pretty maneuverable.
When the going gets really rough. Adventure's covered wagon
is at its best. If you take it where adventurers go, you will see
mostly jeeps, and Bugs, and other Adventurers. Your high
ground clearance lets you straddle boulders up to 9" high.
Rear engine traction carries you over sand and snow that would
stop more conventional vehicles. And the air-cooled engine
can't boil or freeze. As for economy, you can cover over five
miles per quart not gallon. It is the only motor home with
all four wheels independently suspended by torsion bars. And
double jointed rear axles give it maximum readability on curvy
bumpy roads. But there's nothing really remarkable about that.
Unless you've never heard of a Volkswagen.

This is the answer for people who, although they dream of
travel and camping, end up staying at home. With an Adven¬
turer IV covered wagon, you can stay at home while traveling.
And dream about traveling while traveling. The way we look
at it, this is the cheapest way of staying home.
And, it is also the cheapest way of traveling.
You enjoy at-home conveniences with at-home prices. And
your covered wagon can be moved with your every whim.
Have a different view daily.
Compare our portable home with the big motor homes. Ours
is closer to being a home than the big ones are to being port¬
able. Describing them as being portable is stretching things a
bit. And they do. Some are as long as 30 feet. Others set rec¬
ords for height and width that restrict them to wide pavements.
And this, of course, leaves the best for the real portables.

to get at after all.

A tale of adventure
We've all felt the call to Adventure. It takes many forms and
can strike anyone any time. Adventure is where you go.
And how you get there.
Two people who answered this call are Ed Anderson and his
wife Jereen. The scenic photographs in this brochure were
taken by them on a recent tour of the Western United States.
Adventure Campers, Inc. and its entire product line are the
result of an adventure of several years ago.
If started in 1963. Stimulated by a large curiosity and unwill¬
ing to be stopped by a small budget, Ed and Jereen set out
for 17 months of carefree adventure. They visited 31 countries
while wandering across four continents. Their custom VW
camper was transported by boat no fewer than 34 times. Since
they were completely self-contained, their VW was home as
well as transportation.
Its concept developed in California. Its wood and fabric, foam
and screws took shape in the carport of a motel in Coventry,
England. The result was revolutionary. And, very comfortable.

This first Adventure Camper had lots of storage space, per¬
manent standing room, a sink with drain, a gravity water
system, a built-in butane stove, a toilet, and a really comfort¬
able bed.
The Adventurer IV of today enlarges upon their original con¬
cept of a compact motor home.
Once back in California. Ed formed a company geared to sell¬
ing an improved version of his original compact motor home de¬
sign. Thus began a new national trend in recreational vehicles.
Based on extensive experience, the Adventure Camper prod¬
