with PNDRI, Gil says making a planned gift is a
significant decision and he did his homework. “I was a
stockbroker and I’m used to answering the question,
is this a good company to invest in? For a research
institute, it all comes down to the scientists. And
PNDRI has absolutely brilliant scientists.”

I grew up in a small town outside
of New Haven, CT, where Yale
University is located. Yale built
several new dormitory buildings on
a grassy field but the administration
deliberately did not lay any
sidewalks connecting the buildings.
Instead, they let the students
discover the routes that made most
sense to them. After two years of
steady foot traffic, clear pathways
connecting the buildings emerged and only then did they
pave the pathways with concrete.

At PNDRI, we are growing our roster of highly skilled
scientists. These scientists, like the students at Yale, are
building “pathways” of collaboration that lead to innovative
