MIKE MOYNAHAN RETURNS FROM
TOP TEN WORLDWIDE CLUBMAKER
RENOWNED TRAINING SCHOOL
OF THE YEAR 2008-2009
Mike Moynahan recently completed
Golfsmith’s Master Craftsman Program in
Austin, Texas. Golfsmith, the leading golf
club component supplier and clubmaking
company, was the first to offer training
programs in clubmaking in 1970. The
school Moynahan attended offers instruction and hands-on training in a wide range
of advanced clubmaking skills including
clubhead and shaft design analysis, customized grinding and head shape profiling, and golf component manufacturing
techniques. This comprehensive program,
the only one of its kind in the components
supply industry, is presented by a skilled
team of Golfsmith clubmakers, designers,
engineers
and
repair
craftsmen.
Participants receive a thorough understanding of products, processes and techniques, and invaluable shop experience
working Golfsmith’s technical staff.
Moynahan and other participants also
worked with the various special tools and
equipment necessary to perform these
advanced clubmaking services. Students
also trained to analyze the golf swing for
fitting purposes, and observe ball flight
characteristics of different equipment as
tested on Max Headspeed - the only testing robot in the golf components supply
industry.
Mike Moynahan, owner of Kama‘aina
Clubmakers in Kamuela, Hawaii was recently named one of the 2008-2009 Top Ten
Worldwide Clubmakers of the Year by the
highly
regarded
Golf
Clubmakers
Association (GCA).
The GCA received hundreds of nominations from around the world for the prestigious Clubmaker of the Year award. A panel
consisting of several GCA officials and other
golf clubmaking experts selected winners
from each state (U.S.), province (Canada)
and country (International) who exemplified
the overall best qualities of golf club repair,
club fitting and community work. A group
of clubmakers were chosen as the Top Ten
Worldwide Clubmakers of the Year.
This is Mike Moynahan’s THIRD consecutive win at Top Ten Worldwide as well as his
FIFTH consecutive win for Hawaii State
Clubmaker of the Year. Moynahan and other
award winners were honored during the
19th Annual GCA International Conference
held this month in Austin, Texas.
The Golf Clubmakers Association was
founded in 1980 by Golfsmith International,
Inc. It is the most established and largest
organization promoting the craft of golf
clubmaking. The Clubmaker of the Year
Awards commenced in 1996.

SST PURE - WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU!
Kama‘aina Clubmakers is the Licensee for SST PURE® Golf
Shaft Analysis and Alignment in the State of Hawaii.
WHAT IS SST PURE®?
Every golf shaft ever made has irregularities, and those irregularities cause bending and twisting in the shaft during your golf
swing. This can result in mis-hit shots that are the fault of the
equipment, not the fault of your swing.
The patented and U.S. Golf Association (USGA) approved SST
PURE® process of club assembly uses proprietary computer
analysis to locate each shaft’s irregularities and aligns the shaft to
neutralize them, so that each club bends in the direction it should
-- straight down the target line.
