PERSONALIZED FULL OPTION BIB
Bib personalization and unique QR codes are now available.
Bib personalization is a great way to promote early registration and create a personal keepsake for your
participants. We can print participant names, team names, age, gender, emergency contact information or
any other information needed on the bib. Printing individual participant information eliminates the need
for labels, saving valuable time. Use variable data to better organize participants on race day by calling
out staging areas or corral numbers.
Unique participant QR codes can be used in a number of ways to enhance event organization, safety and
the participant’s experience. A quick-response (QR) code is a two-dimensional barcode. When the QR code is
scanned using an app on a smartphone, the app reads the encoded information. This information can be
text, a phone number, important medical information, a sponsors coupon or a URL. Through the events URL
the participant can be directed to their personal results page providing real time results.

A screened background is a logo or design that is printed behind the numeral at about
30-40% to create a "watermark" effect. It is printed in the same color as the copy color.
The watermark or screened background will show through the numeral if a lighter numeral
color than the copy color is selected. Example: red numerals over black copy. Design will

We use heavy duty 3 mil laminating pouches, permanently encasing either custom printed or
generic mountain bike numbers. Adds 45¢ to the cost of each number. Great for multi-day events.

Relay Type #1 (Team & Participant Number)

Relay Type #1 uses the leading 2 to 3 digits to designate the team and the trailing 1 to 2 digits to
designate the participant or stage. Leading and trailing digits can be in different colors at no additional
charge. Both leading and trailing number series must be sequential. Also, there must be the same
number of participant numbers for each team. Oversize stock is
required for 5 digits (extra cost for oversize stock). Relay Type #1 includes: Different color numerals
for team and participant and grouping of numbers by team with paper divider for easy distribution.

(Team Number Only)
Relay Type #2 designates teams by number. Each team participant receives the same number.
For example, for 100 teams with 5 participants 5 sets of 100 numbers would be ordered. Relay Type
#2 groups same numbers together with a paper divider separating each teams numbers for easy distribution.

RAINBOW COLOR CODING SYSTEM
The Rainbow color coding system works well for all pull tag numbers. First introduced in 1982, the Rainbow
System is still very popular, inexpensive and an easy way to determine age group award winners.
Using the specially designed Rainbow color coding stickers, each runners pull tag is marked with a colored
sticker that represents his age group (15 colors available). In addition, the shape of the sticker (square or oval)
represents the gender of the participant.
Using the pull tag system, as participants cross the finish line and enter the chute system, their pull tags are
collected and spindled in order of finish. Race officials, searching for the top three in each age group, are then
able to go through the tags looking for the first three of each color instead of having to read each tag.
Awards ceremonies are typically ready before the last runner crosses the finish line.
Using the tag posting strips, tags can be removed from the stringers, stapled on the strips and posted
for all finishers to see and compare time and place in their age groups.
