Dear Member
ASHRAE Thailand Chapter currently comes to the end of the eighth year in
supporting Thai RHVAC society. Thanks for all officers, BOGs, and especially
committee chairs and committee members that initiated various programs for
our members. By co-ordination with Air-conditioning society of Thailand and Thai
Refrigeration Association, our chapter was recently successful in organizing
4 technical seminars and refrigeration plant visit, which are
ë The Climate Change : Thailand Future Refrigerant for Sustainability System, on Mar 14th
ë Modern Air Conditioning Technology, on Mar 19th
ë CP Refrigeration Plant (Technology awarded) visit at Korat, on Apr 23rd
ë Air Conditioning System Load Calculation, on May 14th
ë Energy Saving in Humidity Control Condition, on May 23rd
For those who missed these seminars, our materials are also available at our library. Furthermore our CTTC team
is planning for the next distinguished lecturer in July on the current famous topic of çClimate Changeé by Tom Werkema.
Consequential from one of our motions, driven in last CRC, we are pleased to inform our members and
appreciate US society for reducing member fee from US$165 - to US$90 - on yearly member fee with CD manual. That
is exclusive privilege for all members in developing countries, including Thailand.
In May 17th - 18th, Thailand Chapter had the opportunity to host for Regional Planning Meeting (RPM-2) for
Region-13. Over 30 ASHRAE folks from seven countries, including new Indonesia Chapter, joined this meeting and
discussed how to grow further ASHRAE community in Asia Pacific.
Lastly Thailand Chapter would like to welcome new BOGs, Officers, and committee chairs and thanks in advance
for all of your coming contribution in 2008-2009. Under the new leadership of President, Uthai Lohachitranond, and
President-Elect, Ithideb Ratanadib, Thailand Chapter will continue supporting and improving our society for better
quality of life against this inflating energy cost situation.

The first distinguished lecturer (DL) from Thailand
Congratulation to Mr. Kecha Thirakomen, Board of Governor (BOG) of ASHRAE
Thailand Chapter from EEC who was selected to be Distinguished Lecturer (DL) of
ASHRAE in this 2008 year. This is the first DL of Thailand. The Chapter is so proud for

On May 17-18, 2008 ASHRAE Thailand Chapter was the host for RPM 2008 at Sarocha Room, SWISSOTEL
LE CONCORDE BANGKOK HOTEL, Ratchadapisek Road, Huai Khwang, Bangkok. The objective of this meeting
was to summarize all activities in last year from every
chapter in our region and to plan for activities in the coming
year. Workshop for new coming chairs also presented in the
meeting. The Indonesia Chapter (new member for region
XIII) also joined in this meeting as well.
