When it opened on June 12, 1939 in Cooperstown, NY, the National Baseball Hall of Fame &
Museum became the unofficial home of baseball
by serving as the repository for the rich history
of the game and for celebrating the greats of
baseball's past.
The Baseball Hall of Fame's educational mission
is to forever preserve the sport's history, honor
excellence within the game, and to connect the
generations of fans who enjoy baseball making it
our National Pastime.
Dressed in vintage uniform, this Baseball Hall of
Fame player figure was inspired by the Hall
of Fame's collection of 19th century artifacts,
paying tribute to the early pioneers of the game.

In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared
an autumn harvest feast which is acknowledged today as one of the first
Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. This harvest meal has become
a symbol of cooperation and interaction between English colonists and
Native Americans. Although this feast is considered by many to be the very
first Thanksgiving celebration, it was actually in keeping with a long
tradition of celebrating the harvest and giving thanks for a successful
bounty of crops. Native American groups throughout the Americas,
including the Pueblo, Cherokee, Creek and many others organized harvest
festivals, ceremonial dances, and other celebrations of thanks for centuries
before the arrival of Europeans in North America.

Caroler®
Figurines—
Handcrafted in
the USA!

#404A
Founder Joyce Byers
began making Carolers
at her dining room table
in the 1960s, inspired to
create decorations that
spoke of warmth and
family traditions. Using a
wire hanger, a scrap of
fabric, bits of fur and
some hair from her
children, the first
Carolers came to life.
Joyce sold a few
Carolers to a local
Women’s Exchange and
soon stores from other
parts of the country
started requesting the
festive figures.
What was once a hobby
has grown to a business
that today employs
100 Pennsylvania
artisans and ships
hundreds of thousands
of Carolers across the
United States.

Parading support of their new nation, these Williamsburg residents prepare for
Independence Day—that glorious celebration of what a group of determined American
rebels achieved. In the early years following the Declaration, festivities included many
trademarks of today's holiday: fireworks, picnics, and time with family and friends.

As he went about his daily tasks, the Captain remembered his days in
Liverpool, England. There, donations were thrown into a “Simpson pot”
and later distributed to the poor. Thus inspired, Captain Joseph McFee
set up the first Christmas kettle. Today, these red kettles have become a
familiar symbol of Christmas.
Each year, The Salvation Army assists more than 4.5 million individuals
during Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays, offering food, clothing,
toys and fellowship to many who would otherwise be forgotten. Byers’
Choice is proud to make these special Caroler® figurines in honor of the
this charitable organization. A portion of the proceeds from these figurines
will go directly to The Salvation Army.

Nutcrackers are believed to have originated in the
Erzgebirge region of Germany about 300 years ago. An
artisan carved a wooden soldier with a movable mouth
to symbolically crack the "hard nut" of the economic
times. The figure quickly became popular throughout the
region, Germany and the world.

Kindles™—perhaps you have already heard of their work. Have you ever wondered how a snowman
seems to wink just as you walk by, or how the lights on the tree seem to have an extra sparkle on
Christmas Eve? Consider Kindles. How does Santa manage to fit down even the tightest of chimneys?
It’s our Kindles at work again, putting the twinkle in the eye of even the smallest child believing
in the magic of Christmas morning.
Far away in a land where snow falls in glittering heaps like confectioner’s sugar, there lives a group
of sprites whose vast experience, energy and spirit have given them an extraordinary opportunity.
These aren’t just elves, they’d be quick to point out with pride and distinction. They are Kindles,
Guardians of the Christmas Spirit.
