WELCOME TO THE FOLD. H.O.G.® has been hitting the open road for more than three
decades. We are preceded by our reputation: a taste for adventure, rebellion, attitude and
freedom. And that’s just how we like it. Now you’re a member, all that’s left is to let out the
clutch and hit the throttle.
H.O.G.® (Harley Owners Group®) is the largest factory-sponsored motorcycle enthusiast
organisation in the world. It was created to enhance the experience of owning a HarleyDavidson® motorcycle by offering access to a host of benefits and services associated with
ownership of the world’s most famous motorcycle. These include the club magazine (HOG®
magazine), the invaluable Touring Map, access to emergency roadside recovery services,
rental programmes, preferential access to goods and services, and much, much more.
Since it was formed in 1983 by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, membership of the
Harley Owners Group has grown rapidly. It now has about a million members around the
world with more than 100,000 in Europe.

There are four types of membership. Full or Full Life members must own a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle.
Associate memberships are designed for the passenger or family member of a Full or Full Life member.

Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. Remember to carry your membership card to events,
rallies and Open House events. If you lose your membership card, a replacement is available from the H.O.G.® Customer
Care Centre.
A one-year full membership is automatically issued to the purchaser of a new, unregistered or ex-demo Harley-Davidson®
motorcycle from an authorised Harley-Davidson dealer. An automatic membership is generated to the individual whose
name first appears on the title. If you are a current H.O.G. member at the time of a new, unregistered Harley-Davidson
motorcycle purchase or have been within the past two years, please provide your membership number at the time of
sale to receive an automatic one-year extension. This will prevent a duplicate membership from being generated. If your
mailing address changes, please notify the H.O.G. Customer Care Centre as soon as possible.
If you are an existing H.O.G. Full Life member and purchase a new Harley-Davidson or ex-demo Harley-Davidson, you can
nominate anyone you like to receive the one-year free membership! Please contact the H.O.G. Customer Care Centre for
more information. NOTE: Only one automatic membership is issued for each new vehicle purchased.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
Members can renew by mail, by phone or online at hog.com under ‘My Membership’. Before your H.O.G. membership
expires, you will be invited to renew. When you do so, you will continue to be eligible for all benefits, programmes and
services, plus you will receive a specially designed renewal patch and pin, as well as an updated Touring Map (Full and
Full Life members) and Membership Guide. Please allow up to six weeks for delivery. To receive your renewal package
sooner, renew before your membership expires or opt for ‘Speedy Delivery’*.
AUTO RENEWAL
To ensure that you do not miss out on all the great benefits H.O.G. has to offer, if you are paying by credit card or debit
card* renewing your H.O.G. membership couldn’t be easier! Your membership will be automatically renewed when it
expires in one year. We will contact you 60 days before this date to remind you that we will shortly be renewing your
membership, and payment will be taken 30 days before your expiry date. Further details can be found at hog.com.

Members of H.O.G. in the UK are also affiliated members of the BMF – one of the largest
riders’ groups in the world, working on behalf of motorcyclists no matter what motorcycle

SAFE RIDER SKILLS PROGRAMME
Active members who successfully complete an accredited motorcycle safety rider training course during the 2016
calendar year will receive a pin and patch if it is their first participation, or the Safe Rider 2016 pin if they have
participated in the past while active H.O.G.® members.
OFFICIAL GUIDELINES
1. You must be a current H.O.G. member on the date the course begins.
2. You must send the proper proof of the completion date of the safety course you took within three months of
completing the course.
3. Limited to recognition for one safety course per member annually.
4. Pin and patch can be obtained by submitting a completed form with a copy of the safety course certificate
indicating successful completion of the course. If the member participated in the course during the previous year,
only the annual safe rider pin for the new course will be sent. Forms may be obtained by calling H.O.G. Customer
Care Centre (see telephone and address directory) or can be downloaded from hog.com.
5. After a minimum of 12 members from one chapter pass an accredited rider training course and submit their
individual certificates to H.O.G., a laser-engraved Safe Rider Skills Chapter Plaque will be sent to the sponsoring
dealer. The forms must be submitted by July 31, 2016. For any application made after that date, the plaque will
be sent during the last quarter of 2017.

H.O.G.® ASSISTANCE – ROADSIDE RECOVERY EXCLUSIVELY FOR H.O.G.® MEMBERS
If you are concerned about being left stranded following a breakdown or puncture, H.O.G.® Assistance may be just what you
need. H.O.G. Assistance is a roadside rescue and recovery facility for you and your Harley-Davidson® motorcycle, providing
you with a 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year backup.
H.O.G. Assistance can respond in the cases of breakdown, tyre puncture, lack of fuel and even loss of keys. In these cases, H.O.G.
Assistance will arrange for your rescue as quickly as they possibly can.
Your motorcycle can be recovered and then taken to the nearest official Harley-Davidson dealer for repairs to be carried out. In
cases of lack of fuel, a simple roadside fill-up can be arranged (charges apply for fuel costs).
If the dealer is not open for business, the motorcycle can be taken into secure storage and then delivered to the dealer on the
next working day.
Where appropriate, overnight hotel accommodation can be agreed and refunded by H.O.G. Assistance, or alternate transport to
your destination, dependent on your circumstances. Rescues and accommodation apply to both rider and pillion. Transport costs
are met, in respect of the journey back to the dealer to collect the vehicle once repairs have been made. Please note that H.O.G.
Assistance does not pay for the cost of repairs to your motorcycle.
H.O.G. Assistance does not restrict either the number or duration of trips or foreign tours. There is no vehicle age restriction.
The service is provided free for one year to purchasers of brand-new Harley-Davidson motorcycles (not ex-demo or ex-rental
bikes). H.O.G. Assistance is also available for further 12-month periods exclusively to H.O.G. members, subject to an additional cost.

Ladies of Harley™ (LoH) offers members a special embroidered patch and pin during the first year of
membership. Each renewal year, LoH members receive an LoH pin indicating the year of membership.
You must be an active female Full or Associate member of H.O.G.® to be affiliated with Ladies of Harley.
Although LoH is free of charge to active H.O.G. members, the Ladies of Harley benefit is not automatic.

Joining a chapter is a great way to meet new friends with whom to ride, participate in chapter activities
and have a lot of fun.
By getting involved with a local H.O.G. chapter, you’ll open up a whole new world of opportunity for touring,
fun and friendship. It’s a great way to meet and ride with fellow Harley® enthusiasts. What’s more, it offers
you the opportunity to really make a difference. H.O.G. chapters are well known for their incredible
dedication to charities – local, national and international. Harley-Davidson® dealers sponsoring a local

PATCHES AND PINS
A special H.O.G.® 10- or 25-year member patch will be included in your renewal package to mark your
10th and 25th consecutive years of membership. Replace lost membership pins and patches, or order

You may order only the renewal pins and patches for which you qualify. Look at the ‘Member Since’ area

WHERE CAN I FIND OUT MORE INFORMATION ON H.O.G.® MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS AND PROGRAMMES? As well as
inside this Membership Guide, information can be found on the H.O.G.® members’ website hog.com, or by speaking to the
multilingual agents at our dedicated Customer Care Centre, who will be able to answer any enquiries.
CAN I CHANGE MY RENEWAL DATE SO I RECEIVE MY RENEWAL PIN AND PATCH EARLIER IN THE YEAR? H.O.G. renewal
packs are processed and despatched in the renewal month applicable to you for that year. If you have an expiry date of July
2016, for instance, you can renew in January 2017 to receive your pack at the start of the season. Your membership will be
extended from July 2017 by a full 12 months, so you don’t lose out for renewing early! Automatic renewal by Visa/Mastercard
follows the expiry date of the H.O.G. membership, therefore the payment will only be taken at the start of the month of expiry.
Automatic renewal is only possible if your credit card has not expired or changed. The new details can be entered when you
contact us again to take the next payment.
HOW DO I CREATE MY ONLINE PROFILE, AND WHERE DO I LOG IN? To create or log in to a H.O.G. membership profile,
go to hog.com.
MY H.O.G.® MEMBERSHIP HAS EXPIRED. CAN I RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP VIA MY ONLINE PROFILE? You can renew your
own H.O.G. membership through your own online profile, but not another member’s. You can make a new enrolment for
another person, but making a new enrolment for yourself will create a duplicate membership. A different email address
should be used for each online profile.
CAN I CHOOSE THE CURRENCY I PAY IN TO RENEW MY H.O.G.® MEMBERSHIP? Membership fees must be paid in euros,
except memberships with a UK or Gibraltar address. These can be purchased or renewed in pounds sterling.
HOW LONG SHOULD IT TAKE FOR MY H.O.G.® PACK TO ARRIVE? Your pack should normally be delivered within six weeks.
This can vary between countries depending on local postal services. To receive your renewal package sooner, renew before
your membership expires or opt for ‘Speedy Delivery’*. For enquiries about your membership pack, or to confirm your H.O.G.
number before your membership card arrives, please contact the Customer Care Centre.

become a Life member of H.O.G. at any time.
I AM ALREADY A MEMBER OF H.O.G., SO WHAT HAPPENS TO MY ‘FREE’ ONE-YEAR H.O.G. MEMBERSHIP IF I PURCHASE
A NEW HARLEY-DAVIDSON® MOTORCYCLE? If you purchase a new H-D® motorcycle from an authorised dealer, and you are
already a H.O.G. member, provide the dealer with your membership number; this will extend your existing membership for an
additional year. An existing Full Life member purchasing a new H-D motorcycle from an authorised dealer can donate the free
membership year to another H.O.G. member, family member or Harley® rider.
WHAT IS ‘LoH’? LoH is short for ‘Ladies of Harley™’, which is available for active H.O.G. members. This is designed to
encourage female Harley riders to join the H.O.G. community. Membership is free but not automatic. To join LoH please
contact the Customer Care Centre.
IF I SELECT ‘LADIES OF HARLEY™’ IN MY MEMBERSHIP PROFILE, DOES THAT MEAN MY WIFE/PARTNER BECOMES A
MEMBER? No, it means you become a member of LoH. LoH is officially open to all active members of H.O.G.® – if your wife
or partner is a H.O.G. member, she may join by contacting the Customer Care Centre.
HOW OFTEN WILL I RECEIVE HOG® MAGAZINE? HOG® magazine is published and despatched quarterly to all Full members
of H.O.G. in February, May, August and November. A monthly eMagazine is also despatched to all H.O.G. members who have
supplied their email address via the online profile or by contacting the Customer Care Centre.
HOW DO I SEND PHOTOS TO HOG® MAGAZINE? Send your favourite photographs and stories to [email protected] to be considered for publication, or upload pictures to the H.O.G. app. Photos should ideally be between 1-10MB.
Photographs and stories published in HOG magazine will earn the contributor a H.O.G. Staff Photographer pin, unavailable by
any other means.
WHAT IS H.O.G.® ASSISTANCE, AND IS IT INCLUDED WITH MY MEMBERSHIP? H.O.G. Assistance is the factory-sponsored
worldwide recovery service covering you for any issues with your motorcycle that may leave you stranded, including loss
of keys and running out of fuel. H.O.G. Assistance for one year is included in the purchase of all new Harley-Davidson
motorcycles and may be renewed by Full H.O.G. members at a minimal cost thereafter – it is not included in H.O.G. membership.

I AM A NEW MEMBER – WHY DIDN’T I RECEIVE THE YEAR-SPECIFIC PIN AND PATCH FOR THE CURRENT YEAR?
New members receive the H.O.G. pin and patch in the first year of joining H.O.G. The pin and patch with the year designated
are for the year of renewal, not for the year of joining H.O.G. So a member joining H.O.G. in 2016 and renewing in 2017 is
entitled to the 2017 pin for renewing in that year.
WHERE DO I GET THE OFFICIAL H.O.G.® PATCHES? The small H.O.G. patch and the H.O.G. pin are included in your
welcome pack, and the year-specific pin and patch are included in your renewal pack. Large H.O.G. patches and a wide
range of other H.O.G. patches, regalia and merchandise are available from the official H.O.G. merchandise licensee MID:

HOW DO I ATTACH MY PATCHES TO MY JACKET – ARE THEY SELF-ADHESIVE? Patches are designed to be sewn on.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN THE SAFE RIDER SKILLS PROGRAMME? Contact your local dealer or chapter, who can help with
locations to take a course. To gain the pin and patch recognition, a copy of the course certificate must be submitted together
with the completed form.
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN THE MILEAGE PROGRAMME? Before you embark on your rides, send a completed, signed and
stamped form to the Customer Care Centre office with the current mileage/kilometres on your odometer. All bikes must be
first enrolled into the H.O.G. Mileage Programme in a member’s active H.O.G. membership record; this is done by sending a
completed programme form. Only mileage accumulated after enrolment will go towards reaching each mileage level.
Accumulated mileage for current and previous bikes is recorded together and totalised.

CHAPTERS
WHAT IS A H.O.G.® CHAPTER? A H.O.G. Chapter is a local riding group of H.O.G. members sponsored by an authorised
Harley-Davidson dealer and is designed to provide localised ‘Reasons to Ride’, meetings, ride-outs, charitable fundraising
and social activities based around the dealership. All chapter members must be members of the H.O.G. organisation.
CAN I START MY OWN H.O.G.® CHAPTER? Authorised H.O.G. chapters must be sponsored by an authorised H-D dealership,
who will apply to their regional H.O.G. Manager for the new chapter to be created. Normally only one chapter per dealership
will exist.
HOW DO I JOIN A H.O.G.® CHAPTER? You can identify your local H.O.G. chapter from the Chapter Locator on hog.com,
through your local dealer, or by contacting the Customer Care Centre.
WHAT IS THE ‘CHAPTER CHARTER’ AND WHERE CAN I VIEW IT? The Chapter Charter is the document outlining the
operating principles and guidelines of H.O.G. chapters, and the annual licence for H.O.G. chapters to operate and to use
Harley-Davidson trademarks and logos. It is available on hog.com to designated chapter officers and your sponsoring dealer.
Chapters may also operate under more specific by-laws relating to their specific operating style, activities or regional legislation.
DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF A CHAPTER? I’M NOT SURE WHETHER IT FITS MY LIFESTYLE OR PERSONALITY.
No; you are free to choose if you wish to join a chapter or not. However, we would encourage you to try a chapter meeting
or talk to your dealership’s chapter manager to see if chapter activities might be more to your liking than you may think!
