Caring for a family member or friend can be
rewarding, but it is not easy. Whether you
are the caregiver for your grandchildren,
provide care to your parents or spouse or a
dependent child, this group is for you! Learn
from each other, ways to cope with the every
day stresses of caring for someone you love.
We will also give you tools and resources to
help you on your journey.

Summer Swing Fun Run
Begins: Tuesday May 3! Runners and walkers alike are welcome, at
any fitness level. Join us at the Denson Drive
Recreation Center parking lot at 6pm. Runs
begin at 6:15pm, and take place each Tuesday
night for the duration of the Summer Swing
Concerts. Water and Gatorade provided for runners and
walkers. There will also be hamburgers, hot
dogs, sandwiches, and drinks across the street
at Summer Swing concerts, provided by the
OHS Band Boosters for a nominal price.

A membership is available to anyone who has
completed a class at the Denson Drive Center.
Members may visit the center during operating
hours to work on projects, buy clay, tools and use
equipment. The staff is there to assist when not
teaching classes. Scheduled classes have priority
over wheels and slab roller. First time membership includes a t-shirt.

The Pottery Arts Department contains state of
the art equipment: reversible electric wheels,
digitally controlled kilns as well as a large selection of custom mixed glazes. Also available are an

Every Tuesday evening beginning May 3rd, the Opelika Parks and Recreation
Department hosts a free outdoor concert at 7:00 p.m. at Municipal Park in Opelika Alabama. This 15-week concert series offers a wide variety of musical entertainment including Gospel, Jazz, R & B, Oldies, Country, Big Band Swing,
Folk, and Community Band music.
The Opelika Band Boosters will prepare Summer Swing Sack Suppers in the
park for a nominal fee from 6:15-7:30 p.m. Their hamburgers and hot dogs are
ideal for a family picnic. First American Bank of Opelika will provide complimentary lemonade during the concerts.
Come out early! Bring the whole family, a quilt or lawn chair and relax on the

music. Audience participation is encouraged…Join the ‘Monkey
Park’ dancers on the grass around the stage as they dance, blow

Crossroads Provides an opportunity for listeners to enjoy the vocal talents of
Jessica Wilson. The band explores less frequently covered material, such as Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt, Cross Canadian Ragweed, and even a little R.E.M.. Moving through contemporary
and classic rock, country, and folk music provides audiences with
a unique and entertaining experience. The group and it’s members
hail from Auburn, Alabama and collectively have many years of
