On behalf of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation
(EHCANN), It is an honor to host the 55th ACI Africa Board and Working Group
meetings & Regional Conference and Exhibition to be held from 8 to 15 April
2016 in Cairo, Egypt.
“Economic sustainability of African Airports - Challenges and
opportunities”
is the theme on which we will debate in Cairo; it will certainly offer us an excellent opportunity to
share our experiences and best practices in business sustainable economic developments and the
renovations and innovations in Egyptian airports. As well as discussing airport safety and security
challenges that face the aviation industry.
EHCAAN gives particular importance to Economic sustainability of Egyptian Airports by establishing
Cairo AIRPORT CITIY with a comprehensive strategy to achieve the best use of economic assets available within Cairo airport.
Under the high patronage of the Ministry Of Civil Aviation, Egypt shall rally all efforts and necessary

The Regional Conference and Exhibition will be held at Le Méridien Cairo Airport. It provides a modern,
welcoming environment and is conveniently linked to Terminal 3 by a pedestrian bridge. The hotel is 24
kilometres from the city centre. All the event will be held in this hotel.

Weather
In Cairo, April is the last month that enjoys cooler temperatures before summer. The sun shines for
hours and there is no humidity. By experience at this time of the year, Cairo is sunny averaging 11
hours per day. The average daily temperature for this month is 22° C (72F). This can reach heights
of 28° C (82F) or fall below 15° C (59F).
Currency
The local currency is the Egyptian pound (EGP), divided into 100 piastres. In Arabic, the pound is
called Guinay, and piasters are known as Qirsh.
Money Exchange
The average exchange rates of main foreign currencies, quoted in Egyptian pound on interbank
exchange market on 05 January 2016, are:
- 1 USD = 7.8083 EGP
- 1 EUR = 8.5103 EGP
Exchange offices exist in all banks and airports. Please make sure to check the currency rate at the
Central Bank of Egypt website (http://www.cbe.org.eg/English/).
Transportation
Transportation of delegates from the Cairo International airport to le Méridien Cairo Airport and
Novotel Cairo Airport will be provided. To avoid any delay in hotel transfer, delegates are advised
to inform about their arrival date and time (full flight information) at least 72 hours before their
arrival.

Useful INFORMATION
Entry Visa
Entry to Egypt may require a visa for nationals of some countries. Visa requirements may also depend on
the type of passport (diplomatic, special and regular).
All visitors need a 6 months valid passport with adequate unused pages should you need a visa, you are
advised to apply for it to the Egyptian embassy, or consulate representation at your home country or your
country of residence.
The following countries are exempt from visa requirement when visiting Egypt:
Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the United Arab Emirates.
Passport holders from EU, UK, Australia, Canada, Croatia, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Macedonia, Republic of Korea, Serbia, Ukraine and USA, can obtain a visa on arrival.
Citizens of the following countries are required to be in possession of a pre-arrival visa: Afghanistan, Algeria,
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chechnya, Croatia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq,
Iran, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Macau, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, The Philippines, Serbia, Slovenia, Sri-Lanka, Tadzhikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine,
